Chapter 930 Are You Tired?
Genevieve's eyelashes fluttered, a dark glint in her eyes. Her face stayed delicate and charming. She cupped Hubert's face with her fair hands and kissed him.
"Stop it, I don't know how."
Hubert laughed, his hand sliding down from her neck, peeling off her clothes, and moving toward her belly.
"Sweetheart,we've been together for half a year. Why can't you be a little more proactive? Aren't you afraid I'll find someone else?"
Genevieve stiffened, then smiled coyly. She pushed Hubert onto the sofa. "You're so annoying, always trying to scare me."
Hubert laughed, his hand moving to her thigh. "If you don't want me to scare you, show me your skills."
Genevieve leaned down, kissing his forehead and moving downward. Listening to Hubert's heavy breathing, she closed her eyes, a cold gleam hardening her gaze. Even the tear mole on her face seemed to deepen.
The next day, Zephyr woke up, frowning at the ceiling. His head felt like it was exploding. He sat up, rubbing his temples. He saw his bare upper body and paused. Scenes flashed through his mind: pressing down on Jane, kissing her, releasing over twenty years of pent-up desire insatiably.
Zephyr's chest heaved, his Adam's apple bobbing. He had sex with Jane while drunk! He looked to his side, but she wasn't there. He remembered having sex with her all afternoon and night like a tireless machine. Thinking of this, his Adam's apple bobbed again, and his body felt hot. He took a deep breath, trying to suppress the heat. He checked the time on his phone. It was just before seven in the morning. His stomach was empty. They hadn't had dinner, just stayed in bed making love. He remembered Jane getting annoyed, cursing at him to stop. But he couldn't listen. She seemed to have passed out from exhaustion.
A hint of guilt flashed in Zephyr's eyes. He wondered what Jane was doing now. She must be cursing him. He put on a robe, got out of bed, and walked out. The smell of food wafted through the house. He looked toward the kitchen. Jane was busy, wearing a white T-shirt and shorts, showing off her long legs. Her tall figure gave a sense of peace and tranquility. Zephyr smiled involuntarily. He wanted to walk over but hesitated. After yesterday, their relationship had taken a step forward. He felt nervous, unsure what to say. 'Sorry?' 'Did I hurt you?' 'Or something else,' he thought. Feeling uneasy, he turned to go back to the room.
"Awake?" Jane's voice came from behind, making Zephyr pause. He was stuck, unable to leave or stay. Steadying himself, he took a deep breath and turned to look at her.
"Are you making breakfast?" he asked.
"Yeah, if I don't, do you want me to starve?"
Jane glanced at him with a half-smile, her expression unreadable. Zephyr cleared his throat, thinking of yesterday's craziness.
"Yesterday..."
"Are you tired?" Jane cut him off.
Zephyr was stunned. Jane walked up and poked his waist. "I'm just asking if you're tired now?"
Zephyr was speechless. Was she asking if he was tired from making love?
"No," he said. Sure, it was tiring, but he was more excited. Seeing Jane now, his body reacted instinctively, and erotic images flashed through his mind.
"So, if you were the one moving, why am I the one who's tired?" Jane asked, gritting her teeth.
Zephyr was speechless. He couldn't answer that.
"Sorry, yesterday was hard on you," he said, avoiding her eyes.
Jane chuckled, deciding not to argue about how he had exhausted her.
"Zephyr, do you remember what you said?"
"What?"
"You called me a Tomboy," Jane said, feeling resentful.
Zephyr wanted to slap himself. Alcohol really did make people say stupid things.
Seeing Jane's unfriendly eyes, he insisted, "I don't remember."
Jane chuckled again. "Do you remember saying you wanted to marry me?"
Zephyr did remember that but pretended not to. "Did I say that?"
Jane cracked her knuckles. "Zephyr, do you want to deny it?"
"No," Zephyr quickly said. "Even if I don't remember, I know we're already in a common-law marriage."
Jane raised an eyebrow. "There's no such thing as a common-law marriage now."
Zephyr cleared his throat. "If you don't mind, we can get married later."
Jane smiled, satisfied. She had planned to give him six months to think it over but settled it in just a few days. It was too easy!
"Don't forget we have to sign the contract with Finnegan today. Let's get married tomorrow."
"Okay," Zephyr agreed.
Jane looked him over. "Why do you sound relieved?"
Zephyr was speechless. It just showed that police officers had extraordinary insight.
"Yes, the tension is over. Shouldn't I be relieved?"
Jane squinted. "What do you mean tension? Am I forcing you?"
"Of course not," Zephyr said. "Marriage is a big deal. When I think about getting married and starting a new journey, I get nervous. Aren't you nervous?"
Jane wanted to say there was nothing to be nervous about, but seeing Zephyr's clear eyes, she swallowed her words. To be honest, his words did make her a bit nervous. So, feelings were mutual?
"Hurry up and wash up!"
Zephyr smiled. As Jane turned around, he pulled her into his arms and kissed her lightly on the lips. "Okay, honey."
In Youston, today was Carter's birthday. Aaron postponed his work and brought Nora, Billy, and Samantha back to celebrate. They booked a table at a hotel under the Gordon Group. Becky and Lucas brought Michael to join the celebration. Carter was beaming with joy.
Michael, Billy, and Samantha sang the birthday song and blew out the candles with Carter, making her day. Carter was happy, but someone still seemed a bit out of sorts.
