Chapter 628 Are There No Men Left?

At the Lumirians.

Aaron woke up from unconsciousness again, looking at the unfamiliar ceiling with a cold expression. Scenes from last night flashed through his mind.

He wanted to leave but was attacked by Elara.

Thinking of the pain in his neck, Aaron was unhappy; his face turned cold.

Nora had helped him with acupuncture using silver needles to treat his leg injury.

So Aaron knew the feeling of silver needles piercing acupoints.

The pain he felt from Elara last night was like the prickling sensation of a needle on a silver needle.

He didn't expect Elara to know about acupuncture!

Aaron pursed his thin lips, furrowing his brow. Thinking of Elara's mention of marriage, he felt irritated.

How could he have been saved by Elara and Seraphina?

Were there no other men here? They saved him, so they wanted him to marry one of them.

At that moment, the door was pushed open, and Elara walked in with a bowl of medicine in her hand.

"You're awake, good. Get up and drink this bowl of medicine." Elara walked to the bedside, indicating that Aaron should get up and drink the medicine.

Aaron sat up reluctantly, looking at the bowl of soup in Elara's hand with his brown eyes slightly narrowed.

Although he had only known Elara and Seraphina for less than an hour, he immediately recognized Elara upon her arrival.

It was evident that Elara was a leading figure in this household. People like her would definitely not bother with menial tasks like brewing medicine.

If there were any chores in the house, Seraphina would be the one doing them. But now Elara took the initiative to bring the medicine to him.

It was strange.

There might be all sorts of things mixed into this medicine.

For example, a drug to make Aaron lose himself and agree to marry Elara.

Thinking of this, Aaron said, "I'll go to the bathroom first."

"Drink it before you go," Elara said.

Aaron looked at the bowl of soup without moving.

Impatiently, Elara said, "Hurry up, I'm tired of holding it."

Aaron lightly pursed his lips and reached out to take the bowl of soup but pretended to lose his grip and accidentally dropped the bowl to the ground.

The dark medicine in the bowl splattered everywhere.

Elara exclaimed, quickly stepping back a few steps, looking extremely dissatisfied.

Aaron coughed repeatedly, clutching his chest weakly and saying, "Sorry, it was not intentional; my hand was weak."

Elara glared at him, too angry to speak for a while.

Aaron guessed right; there was a drug in this bowl of medicine to make him lose his memory.

She had personally brewed it all morning, only to have it spilled by him!

At that moment, Seraphina hurriedly pushed the door, saying, "Elara."

She had gone out in the morning and just returned, finding something wrong with the remnants of the brewed medicine in the kitchen downstairs.

Knowing that Elara had brewed a drug that could make Aaron lose his memory, Seraphina was truly anxious. But it seemed that Aaron hadn't drunk it. Seraphina couldn't help but sigh in relief.

She asked, "How could you spill the medicine? What are you going to do now?"

"I need to go to the bathroom." Aaron, clutching his chest, lifted the blanket and got out of bed.

"Slow down, let me help you," Seraphina quickly stepped forward to support him.

"Thank you," Aaron said, glanced at Elara, looked away, and walked towards the bathroom.

Elara was breathing heavily with anger. She said, "What a nuisance! Seraphina, quickly brew another bowl of medicine for him and make him feel better!"

"Understood," Seraphina replied.

Elara turned around, angrily leaving the room.

Aaron remained silent, entering the bathroom for convenience.

Looking at his haggard face in the mirror, he pursed his thin lips.

Elara wanted him to recover quickly so that he could marry her.

No, he had to leave here immediately.
But how could he leave?

Aaron squinted his brown eyes, thinking of Seraphina.

It seemed that Seraphina was more approachable.

Could he start with Seraphina?

After finishing up in the bathroom, Aaron walked out.

Seraphina helped him to the bed, slowly settling him down.

"Is Elara your sister?" Aaron asked.

"Yes, we are twins," Seraphina replied.

Aaron leaned against the head of the bed, saying, "Your sister doesn't seem to have a good temper."

Tucking him in, Seraphina said, "My mother passed away early, and Deborah in Lumirians sees Elara as the future leader, so her temper is inevitable."

Even if she was the future leader, she shouldn't have acted so recklessly.

Aaron silently criticized, asking, "Are there no men on your side?"

Seraphina was taken aback, "There are men."

Aaron said, "Since there are men, why does she insist on marrying me?"

Seraphina was taken aback again, and after a moment, she said, "Probably because you're handsome."

This explanation left him speechless.

At that moment, Aaron suddenly thought of Sandy.

Should he learn from her and make two cuts on his face?

With scars, he wouldn't be considered handsome anymore.

Of course, that was the worst-case scenario. He didn't want to return to Nora with a disfigured face.

Aaron fell silent, then he said, "I have a girlfriend, and we have a good relationship. We are already engaged. I promised her that I would be loyal to her alone for life. If I betray her, I will die in atonement."

Aaron deliberately emphasized the consequences to gauge Seraphina's reaction.

Seraphina opened her mouth but remained silent.

After a while, she asked, "What kind of person is your girlfriend?"

When it came to Nora, Aaron's brows softened involuntarily. He said, "She is a beautiful, intelligent, kind, and just woman."

Watching him with a smile in his eyes, Seraphina couldn't help but feel a bit envious of Nora.

She didn't inquire further, "You should lie down and rest for a while. I'll go brew the medicine for you."

Aaron came to his senses, "Let me make a call to my girlfriend, she will pay you back for rescuing me."

His eyes were sincere, with a hint of pleading.

Seraphina almost softened. But thinking of Elara, she ultimately looked away, turned around, and quickly left.

As the door closed again, Aaron's brows furrowed with determination, feeling increasingly restless.

How could he impress Seraphina to let him go?

The idea of using his looks crossed his mind, and Aaron rebuked himself inwardly.

If Nora found out he used such a tactic, she would probably break up with him.

In the Hamilton family.

Kenneth and Nora brought Sandy back home.

Before returning, Kenneth had informed everyone at home.

So when they entered the house, Ebenezer and Howard were already there.

"Mom, Dad, Howard, I brought Sandy back," Kenneth said, holding Sandy's hand.

Sandy looked at the three members of the Hamilton family, feeling a bit uneasy.

"Mr. Smith, Ms. Smith, Howard." She lowered her head slightly, showing a somewhat submissive posture.

"It's good to have you back. In the future, you must live a happy life with Kenneth after all this."Ebenezer smiled heartily without saying much.

As long as Kenneth and Sandy had a good relationship, he wouldn't care about Sandy's true identity.

"Sandy, you are so willful, taking my little nephew and running away; you really worried us," Howard spoke teasingly but without any blame or unwelcome tone in his words.
