Chapter 387 Relying On Looks to Survive

The maid's grip on Billy's arm was unyielding. A grimace of pain contorted Billy's features, his brows furrowing in discomfort.

In response, Millie hastily dabbed at her tears, her small hands struggling to pry the maid's vice-like grip from Billy's arm. "Ellie, release Billy at once. You're hurting him!" The young girl's plea was pitiful, her rosy cheeks still wet with tears. Yet, even in her distress, she found the strength to advocate for Billy.

Billy's gaze softened as he looked at her, an instinctual urge to wipe away her tears rising within him. He lifted his hand, but it fell back to his side, the action left incomplete.

Ellie, the maid, crouched down to Millie's level, her eyes filled with concern. "Miss, did he harm you in any way?"

Millie shook her head, her sniffles punctuating the silence. "No."

"Then why are you crying?" Ellie inquired, her brows furrowed in confusion.

"I don't want Bro to dislike me, and I don't want Bro to leave me," Millie responded, her lower lip jutting out in a pout.

Ellie's frown deepened, her understanding of the situation still incomplete. Nevertheless, she shot Billy a warning glare. "You, you're not allowed to make Miss cry again. Understand! Otherwise, I'll spank you!" She punctuated her threat with a raised hand.

Billy remained silent, feigning ignorance.

Millie's anxiety spiked. "Ellie, don't be mean to big brother. I won't cry anymore. Please leave."

Ellie glanced at the time, "Miss, it's getting late; let me help you take a bath."Millie replied, "I want Mommy to help me take a bath."

"Your Mommy is with Daddy right now; she's busy," Ellie said

Such occurrences were frequent in their household. Often, when her Daddy returned home, he would seclude himself with Mommy for extended periods.

Millie was accustomed to this routine and turned to Billy, "Well then, big brother, let's take a bath together."

Billy stepped back, pulling his hand away, "No, I can't."

"Why not?" Millie asked, her eyes wide with curiosity.

Billy rolled his eyes, "It's just that you and I can't take a bath together."

"Why not?"

"No reason."

Billy had no desire to elaborate further.

Seeing his impatience, and fearing his displeasure, Millie obediently nodded. "Well then, big brother, wait for me for a moment; I'll be done soon."

Billy glanced around the room and gave a noncommittal nod.

Ellie helped Millie with her change of clothes, shot Billy a final glance, and then led Millie into the bathroom.

Once the bathroom door was securely closed, Billy seized his chance. He swiftly opened the bedroom door and scampered downstairs, his short legs carrying him as quickly as they could.

He knew he couldn't remain there indefinitely. Escape was his only option.

The front door's lock was out of his reach, so he dragged a chair over and clambered onto it to unlock the door. Then, he bolted.

However, his freedom was short-lived. Two men in camouflage uniforms, guns in hand, blocked his path with icy stares. "Go back inside!"

Billy's spirits plummeted.

So, this was why Ellie had been so confident in leaving him alone. She knew he wouldn't be able to escape!

'Mommy, Uncle Gordon, when will you come to save me?' he thought.

Meanwhile, in the stillness of the late night, a modified off-road vehicle was slowly inching towards the castle.

At a distance of 3280 feet from the castle, the vehicle's engine was silenced. "Boss, we can't drive forward anymore. If we do, we'll be discovered by Stov's sentries," the driver informed Ross, who occupied the passenger seat.

Ross nodded in acknowledgment, turning his attention to the individual in the back seat. "Mr. Gordon, the child is currently inside the castle. Don't worry; he's safe right now."
Aaron's face was etched with severity as he scrutinized the world beyond the window. His gaze was as sharp as a falcon's, missing no detail.

"Have all the preparations been made?" he asked, his voice echoing the gravity of his expression.

His concern for Billy's safety had been paramount. After their meeting with Ross in Houston, they had journeyed here together, a united front against an uncertain future.

"Indeed," Ross confirmed, his voice steady. "We just need to bide our time a few more hours, then we strike at midnight."

Aaron's gaze flickered to Ross, his eyes hard. "I don't care how you seize control of this organization, but Billy's safety is non-negotiable."

Ross chuckled at this, an amused smirk playing on his lips. "Don't fret, the boy has charm to spare. He can use his looks to his advantage. He won't be in any danger."

Aaron's brow furrowed, needing further clarification. "What exactly are you implying?"

Ross's smirk widened. There was a hint of triumph in his eyes. "One of my men just informed me that the boy has piqued the interest of Stov's daughter and has been taken to their residence."

"I suspect that if my operation fails, the boy will likely be reported as deceased and trapped here."

Aaron's face hardened at this revelation, his expression turning icy.

"Stov believes he's some sort of deity here? Acting on his whims without consequence?" he challenged.

Ross merely shrugged in a nonchalant gesture. "This is the border, a lawless zone. Stov is ruthless. It takes a certain level of cunning to maintain an international gang for this long. Otherwise, Ken wouldn't have dared to infiltrate the kindergarten and abduct the child."

Aaron's expression darkened as Ross's information about Stov replayed in his mind.

Stov, a man hailing from H country and in his early forties, had once been a mercenary renowned for his ruthless brutality.Ten years ago, after overthrowing the head of the Rochester Socality, he had assumed leadership and established connections with various criminal organizations across different countries.

When Ken ascended to power, he had established a connection with Stov through intermediaries.

Ken needed to hone his skills in legitimate business, but he was no stranger to the underworld.

He recognized the allure of beauty as a tool for manipulation, often sending beautiful women to Stov to solidify their alliance.

Most of these women were orphans or impoverished students, beneficiaries of the Turner's Group's charitable organization.

Under the pretense of facilitating their overseas studies, he earned their gratitude and loyalty.

They were oblivious to the trap they were walking into.

Stov seemed to derive great pleasure from this arrangement.

In recent years, his favorite woman was a girl named Emmeline.

She was also an orphan sponsored by the Turner's Group's charitable organization.

Three years ago, when Emmeline came of age, Ken had sent her to Stov under the guise of studying abroad, reducing her to a mere plaything.

Emmeline had even borne a daughter.

According to Ross's recent revelation, it was this daughter that had captured Billy's attention.

Aaron's blue eyes roiled with sympathy for these women.

If Stov was a brutal despot, then Ken was a cold-blooded executioner.

Neither of them were men of virtue.

He hoped that through the events of this night, he could liberate these tormented women.

As the night deepened, time seemed to slow, each tick of the clock echoing ominously.

The moon, a clear and brilliant orb in the sky, descended bit by bit.

With a beep, Ross's phone lit up with a new message.

A smile tugged at the corner of his lips as he read it, and he snapped his fingers in satisfaction.

"Prepare yourselves, the operation begins now!" he announced.

The occupants of the car straightened, their bodies tensing in anticipation.

Aaron frowned, a puzzled expression on his face. "Where are your reinforcements? Just us few?"

There were only five or six of them in the car, including him.

"Is this not a suicide mission?" he questioned, his voice laced with doubt.
