Chapter 443 Witnessing Betrayal Firsthand
"Aaron, I am not spreading rumors, okay?" Quinn furrows her eyebrows, feeling somewhat irritated.
Aaron looks at her. "You witnessed Baldwin betraying you?"
Quinn remains silent.
"Not saying anything means you haven't witnessed it firsthand?" Aaron patiently analyzes the situation. "Quinn, Baldwin is in the entertainment industry, and he inevitably interacts with actresses. If you don't trust him and are narrow-minded, your relationship won't last long."
Quinn responds, "I am not narrow-minded. That Betsy looked at him in the wrong way. During the advertisement filming, she actively requested ambiguous actions. How can I trust this kind of woman to film advertisements with Baldwin?"
Although the advertisement shoot only takes a few days, the two will appear together in subsequent activities.
Just the thought of this woman having improper intentions towards Baldwin makes her unsettled.
After listening to her, Aaron still thinks she is making a big deal out of it.
"Quinn, have you talked to Baldwin about this?"
"Yeah."
"How did he respond?"
"What else can he say? He said there's nothing between him and Betsy."
Quinn's already displeased expression worsens.
Baldwin's explanation is the same as Aaron's, saying she is being narrow-minded and overreacting.
Due to this matter, they have been cold-shouldering each other for several days.
"Well then? Quinn, you have to trust Baldwin," Aaron continues to persuade her. "If we follow your mindset, Baldwin won't be able to act in movies anymore. He will inevitably have interactions with actresses, and who knows, he might even have intimate scenes required by the script. Will you have a problem with that? Will you hire a transgender person to act with Baldwin?"
Upon hearing this, Quinn furrowed her brows even tighter. "Aaron, I ask you for a small favor; why do you keep blabbering like a monk chanting scriptures?"
Aaron said, "I'm just trying to advise you."
Quinn replied, "I don't need your advice. I'm asking you, will you help me or not?"
Aaron's expression turned serious, and he said quietly, "Quinn, you're being a bit unreasonable."
"I'm asking you if you're willing to help or not?" Quinn said angrily.
Aaron said, "It seems like you didn't even listen to what I said earlier."
"Fine, if you're not willing to help, I'm leaving," Quinn impatiently stood up and left.
Aaron watched her retreating figure and shook his head. This girl is too stubborn. He was somewhat worried that she and Baldwin wouldn't last long.
...
Quinn's mansion.
Nora came to give Hollis a follow-up examination of her legs.
After the treatment, Hollis was able to stand up and no longer needed a wheelchair.
As soon as she could stand, Quinn took her to dye her hair and helped her dress up nicely.
The current Hollis looked almost ten years younger than before when she was in a wheelchair.
Her temperament was also completely different from before.
The previous Hollis had a gloomy complexion, like an older woman who had suffered for many years.
But now, Hollis looked intellectual and dignified, like a noblewoman.
All this was thanks to Quinn's devoted companionship, which helped Hollis escape from hatred and become a normal person.
At this moment, Hollis sat on the couch with a cold face, and Baldwin stood in front of her.
"Mrs. Brown, I'm here. Baldwin, you're home too?" Nora entered the mansion and greeted the two of them.
"Nora is here," Baldwin smiled at her.
Nora looked at them and then at each other, a hint of doubt flashing in her eyes.
Did the atmosphere between the mother and son seem like it could be better?
"Nora, come sit next to me," Hollis softened her expression when she saw Nora.
"Okay."
Nora smiled and walked over to sit beside her, indicating that she should extend her hand so she could take her pulse.
Hollis complied.
While taking her pulse, Nora casually asked, "What were you guys talking about just now? Baldwin, did you make Mrs. Brown angry?"
Upon hearing this, Baldwin glanced at Hollis with some helplessness.
Hollis glanced at him coldly and said, "Isn't that right? Just because he gained some fame, he's becoming arrogant."
Baldwin felt innocent and said, "Mommy, I really wasn't being arrogant."
Hollis glared at him, "You dare talk back? Quinn doesn't like that female celebrity, so you should keep your distance from her! But no, not only do you not keep your distance, you also say Quinn is overreacting!"
She paused and continued scolding, "Do you think Quinn is already yours, and your relationship is stable? So now you can find a new target and have two women?!"
Upon hearing this, Baldwin was speechless. "Mommy, how could I? Shooting the advertisement with Betsy is a work arrangement. I can't refuse to work with her just because of personal reasons. My celebrity status isn't at that level yet!"
Upon hearing this, Hollis was done diagnosing; she picked up a cushion next to her and threw it at Baldwin.
"You're still making excuses! If you really care about Quinn, then even if you lose this endorsement, you should make your feelings clear with the company. Either replace you for the endorsement or replace Betsy!"
The cushion hit Baldwin, but they didn't dodge, obediently listening to the lecture.
Hollis stared at him, "I'm telling you, if you don't bring Quinn back tonight, don't bother coming back yourself!"
Listening to the conversation between mother and son, Nora blinked and became extremely curious.
Given the situation, were Baldwin and Quinn disagreeing?
And Hollis was actually taking Quinn's side!
It was so unexpected!
She still vividly remembered a few months ago how Hollis treated Quinn.
She practically wanted Baldwin to break up with Quinn as soon as possible.
But now, she's completely on Quinn's side, which shows how much she likes Quinn.
It seems like if Quinn marries Baldwin in the future, there won't be any problems between them as mother and daughter-in-law.
But if they don't have any problems as mother and daughter-in-law, then why are the couple arguing again?
Nora watched Baldwin leave in defeat, then helped Hollis up the stairs, preparing to treat her.
After she finished giving her the injection, she couldn't help but gossip.
"Mrs. Brown, what's going on between Baldwin and Quinn? Are they disagreeing?"
Hollis didn't conceal anything, "Of course, these two have been too smooth sailing all along. They need to experience some setbacks."
Nora nodded and asked, "Did Baldwin get involved in a scandal with the actress he's working with?"
"Yes."
Hollis said, "Recently, Baldwin has been shooting an advertisement with a female celebrity named Betsy. This advertisement is for the Gordon's group."
The Gordon's group advertisement? Nora remained silent, waiting for Hollis to continue.
A few days ago, Nora noticed that something was off between them and asked what was going on. Quinn told her that the female actress had feelings for Baldwin and wanted him to keep his distance from her.
In fact, if Baldwin knew how to talk, he could have comforted Quinn, and everything would have been fine. Unfortunately, Baldwin was a straight guy who didn't know how to coax girls.
He thought that his interaction with the female actress was normal work-related communication and believed that Quinn was making a mountain out of a molehill. This angered Quinn, and they had a big fight.
"During an argument, people never say anything nice. As they argued, Quinn started to feel that it was because she had been too proactive and eager to please Baldwin that he didn't appreciate her. Baldwin, on the other hand, felt unjustly accused and believed Quinn was being unreasonable.
Now, they have been giving each other the cold shoulder for several days. Quinn even made up an excuse for being busy with work and sleeping in the office for two days. If things continue like this, they might break up." Hollis explained.
