Chapter 129 What's the Relationship Between These People and Mr. Gordon?

After the meal, Nora started moving.

With Noe and a few strong guys in suits lending a hand, Nora didn't need to lift a finger.

Before long, Nora and the three kids arrived at the villas in Star River Bay.

Astonished by the vast estate, the kids gasped and ran around ecstatically.

Soon after, the various pieces of new furniture arrived, with the work crew helping Nora set everything up.

Noe called in a housekeeping team to give the place a thorough cleaning while Nora simply supervised.

Jack felt a bit out of place, observing Aaron, who was currently in a wheelchair, with a complex look on his face.

It seemed Aaron was quite attentive to Nora.

But with such different backgrounds, Jack wasn't sure what to think of their chances.

Just then, his phone rang with a work call from his assistant.

Nora overheard his conversation with the assistant and said, "Jack, everything's squared away here. Go ahead and take care of your business; don't let us hold you back."

Jack pondered for a moment, nodded, and said, "Alright, I'll head out then. Let me know if you need anything."

"Sure, and don't forget to come for dinner tonight. I invited Jenny and asked her to bring Paul along," Nora added.

Jack acknowledged with a quick nod and made his exit.

"Take care, Dr. Parker," Aaron said with a smile curling up the corners of his mouth.

Jack shot him a glance as if he wanted to say something, but in the end, he chose to leave without a word, striding out.

All he hoped for was that Aaron wouldn't hurt Nora.

Otherwise, he would make sure to seek vengeance for her!

"Mommy, which room are we in?" inquired one of the three kids as they scampered down the stairs.

Samantha ran up to Nora and asked.

Patting her on the head, Nora replied, "There are plenty of rooms in the house; you three will each have your own room from now on!"

Up until now, financial constraints have meant they share a room.

But now, with them living in a spacious house and growing up, it was time for them to have their own spaces.

She needed to prepare five rooms, one for each child, one for herself, and one for grandma.

She was planning on bringing grandma home from the retirement community!

"Mommy, are you sure there's no room for Mr. Gordon?" Samantha asked, not quite ready to let go of Aaron's presence.

Nora sternly said, "There isn't one."

Samantha cocked her head and persisted, "But what if Mr. Gordon wants to stay over some night? Mommy, I can share my bed with Mr. Gordon!"

Nora didn't reply.

Whose daughter was this really? Maybe she should just send her off to Aaron!

"Mr. Gordon mentioned his place is just a stone's throw away; he can easily make it back even if it's late. Right, Thomas?" Nora turned to Aaron for support.

Aaron arched an eyebrow and saw the look of dismay on Samantha's face, so he offered, "Samantha, my house really isn't far at all. We could even go check it out later. If you miss me someday, you're welcome to stay over. I have a big house with plenty of rooms."

Samantha's face lit up with a beaming smile, and she nodded enthusiastically. "Okay!"

Nora felt speechless as if Aaron were competing with her for her own daughter.

She decided not to indulge them further and glanced at the clock—it was close to noon.

There probably wasn't enough time to shop for groceries and cook.

"Kiddos, what would you like to eat? I'll just order some takeout," she suggested.

As the children turned toward her, about to make their requests, Aaron interjected, "They're growing kids; it’s not good for them to have takeout? Noe, check with the kitchen—is lunch ready?"

"Will do."

Noe fished out his phone and made a call.

Seconds later, he ended the call.

"Mr. Gordon, the lunch is ready. We can eat anytime now."

"Come on, we're going to my place," Aaron said.

"Mr. Gordon, are we going to your house for lunch?" Samantha leaned close to him and asked with a playful grin.

"Yes, I have had someone prepare your favorite—big chicken drumsticks," Aaron replied with a smile, lifting the child onto his lap.

"Yay! Mommy, Alex, Billy, let's go!" Samantha waved at Nora and her two brothers.

Nora's lips parted to decline, but Aaron had already walked away with his daughter.

Sighing, Nora eventually took her sons by the hand and followed.

The brothers watched their sister sitting on Aaron's lap with a twinge of envy.

Mr. Gordon seemed to favor their sister more!

The group strolled through a tree-lined boulevard.

Along the way, Samantha chattered like a lively songbird in the woods, brightening everyone's spirits.

Inside a villa, Suzy stood on the second floor and glanced out casually. Spying Nora and the others, her heart tightened.

Had Nora and her children moved to Star River Bay so soon?

Were they now heading to Aaron's house?

Suzy's face darkened as she dialed Sunny's number on her phone.

"Sunny, did you do what I asked?" she inquired.

Sunny responded, "Miss Hamilton, I have an interview this afternoon. My assistant has spoken with the host, and they're shaping my image as a scholarly role model. In the interview, I'll use the information you gave me."

Satisfied with this, Suzy hung up the phone.

She had sent the documents that Howard brought last night to Sunny.

Initially, Suzy intended Sunny to leak the information to a research institute.

But Sunny suggested that since she had some knowledge of acupuncture and the company was crafting her persona, why not portray her as an academic prodigy?

This served Suzy's ultimate goal—to tarnish Nora's reputation so that she couldn't stay in Houston!

Suzy's lips curled into a cold smile. After a moment's thought, she changed clothes and left her house.

What was Aaron doing, bringing Nora and her kids back to his villa?

She was determined to find out.

Meanwhile, at Aaron's villa.

Nora surveyed the surroundings, raising an eyebrow.

The villa had the same layout as her own home.

But the decor was in cool tones. Obviously, Aaron's doing, exuding an air of aloof sophistication.

The chef came out to greet Aaron with a respectful nod.

Aaron nodded in return and said to Nora and the three kids, "You must be hungry. Let's eat first."

Having arrived, Nora dispensed with further ceremony and joined the three kids at the dining table.

The spread on the table was lavish, a feast for the eyes.

A servant ladled soup into bowls for each of them.

Aaron looked at Nora and asked, "How do you like the taste of the food today?"

"Thank you," Nora said with a note of gratitude before she and the kids tasted the soup.

"Mmm, this is delicious," Samantha said, sipping her soup with relish.

Her brothers and Nora nodded in agreement.

Nora wondered to herself if Aaron's chef had been recruited from a top-notch restaurant.

The chef, watching them enjoy the meal, heaved a sigh of relief.

Noe had warned him that today's guests were essential and that he needed to bring his A-game, or else he risked being replaced.

What exactly was the relationship between these guests and Mr. Gordon that warranted such careful attention?

Observing the resemblance between the three kids and Mr. Gordon, the chef couldn't help but wonder if they might be his illegitimate children.

Just then, the doorbell rang.
