Chapter 409 Into the Men's Restroom
When Aaron saw Nora initially agree, his heart instantly tensed up.
He was afraid she'd be affected by this incident, just like when she met Edric and Anna last time and turned her anger toward him.
It wasn't easy for her to give him a one-year deadline, and he didn't want Nora to change her mind again.
Thinking about this, Aaron agreed, "That's right. There are many good men in the world, like me, who's deeply in love with Nora."
Nora was coaxing Evella, giving him a speechless look when she heard his words.
"Thomas, stop praising yourself."
Aaron raised an eyebrow, "I'm just stating the truth. Nora, after all this time, can't you feel my deep love for you?"
There was a hint of seduction in his voice.
Thinking of their past together, Nora felt her heart soften.
However, her face remained emotionless.
"Enough; I'm getting goosebumps on my arm."
Aaron reached out and grabbed her hand, rolling up her sleeve.
"Where? Let me see."
Nora was speechless and slapped his hand away.
"Are you done?!"
Looking at the affectionate display between the two, Evella couldn't help but laugh.
"You two, aren't you ashamed to show affection in front of someone who just got dumped?"
Nora glanced at her, also smiling when she saw her finally laughing.
"Evella, you finally laughed."
Aaron, who was on the side, raised an eyebrow and reached out to hold Nora's hand.
"Nora, remember that this is all thanks to me. Tonight..."
Nora's heart skipped a beat, afraid he'd say something inappropriate. She immediately pinched his hand.
"Thomas, don't speak nonsense!"
Aaron put on an innocent look. "I didn't even say anything yet, Nora."
She chuckled, giving him a look that clearly conveyed her thoughts.
Aaron laughed and leaned in closer, "Nora, I meant that you don't forget to make hangover pills for me tonight. Is that not allowed? Or did you misunderstand?"
She choked and stared at his face, feeling an itch in her hand.
She pinched him again hard before pushing him away and walking over to Evella.
Evella was amused again and said, "Nora, you and Mr. Gordon have such a good relationship."
Nora chuckled and ignored Aaron, saying to Evella, "Let's go."
"Okay."
Seeing they were about to leave, Aaron asked, "Where are you going?"
"Home," Nora replied.
"Have you eaten dinner?"
Nora and Evella glanced at each other, feeling their empty stomachs.
He smirked and continued, "You probably haven't eaten yet, right? Let's go; we can eat together."
Nora looked at him, "Aren't you busy with your social engagements?"
He raised an eyebrow, "Would my social engagements clash with having dinner with you?"
That was true. Whenever he had social engagements, she had also gone to mooch off his meals.
Thinking about it, she said to Evella, "Let's go, Evella. We'll mooch off his meal."
Evella didn't have much appetite, but since Nora said so, she didn't feel comfortable refusing.
The two followed Aaron to the reserved private room, where several people were already sitting inside.
They were all his business partners.
After some pleasantries, he introduced Nora and Evella.
"This is Nora, my girlfriend. This is Evella, the Remington family's heiress, from Lindwood City."
"Nice to meet you all."
The business partners were all enthusiastic and invited the two beauties to take a seat.
Nora had been out to eat with Aaron before, so she confidently sat next to him while pulling Evella beside her.
On the other hand, Evella was silent because she was feeling a bit down. After sitting down, she began to browse the news on her phone without actually reading any of it. She was still thinking about Flynt.
The food and drinks began being served, with the waiters doing it in turn. When it was Nora and Evella's turn, Aaron said, "Give them juice." Nora smiled slightly and didn't refuse. However, Evella said, "I want to drink alcohol. Pour me a glass of wine."
Nora hesitated, looked at Evella. But considering she broke up today, Nora didn't stop her. "Let's open a bottle of red wine for Evella," Aaron signaled the waiter. The waiter quickly responded, bringing the red wine and pouring a glass for Evella.
The dinner party started, with everyone at the table in a lively conversation. Aaron chatted while also taking care of Nora and serving her favorite food. Nora was indeed hungry and didn't hesitate, enjoying his care.
After eating to about half-full, she glanced and noticed that Evella's face had already turned slightly red.
How many glasses of alcohol did this girl quietly drink? Her face was already so red.
Nora put down her fork and asked, "Evella, how many glasses of wine have you had?"
"I've only had two," Evella giggled, her eyes slightly misty from the alcohol.
Nora was speechless. Was she saying she couldn't handle just two glasses? The girl could always drink as much as she wanted to.
"Alright, stop drinking. How about some juice?" Nora stopped Evella as she tried to pour herself more wine.
"No, I want alcohol! Nora, you should drink with me, too." Evella took Nora's glass and poured some wine for her. Nora was about to say something but decided against it, letting her do as she wished.
"Here, Nora, let's cheers!" Evella said.
"Okay." Nora clinked glasses with her and took a sip.
As soon as she looked away, she saw Evella gulp down most of the wine in one go. Was she drinking wine like it was water? Nora was speechless and quickly took her wine glass away, serving her some food.
"Evella, drink slowly. How about some food first?" Evella burped and then touched her chest, saying, "Nora, I feel uncomfortable. I need to go to the bathroom."
"I'll go with you," Nora quickly said.
"No need; I want to go outside for some fresh air. You stay here with Mr. Gordon." Evella's eyes were hazy as she laughed, a teasing look on her face.
Nora chuckled and stood up to support her, "He doesn't need me to accompany him, I'll accompany you instead."
"I don't want to third wheel."
Evella pushed Nora's hand away and walked unsteadily toward the door.
Nora quickly followed suit.
"Nora, you go eat; don't follow me."
Evella, intoxicated, stubbornly insisted on not letting Nora follow.
Helpless, Nora could only let Frederick outside keep an eye on her.
"I'm not drunk. None of you are allowed to follow me, or I'll get angry with you." Evella's eyes were blurry as she pointed at Frederick.
On the other hand, Frederick remained silent and silently followed her.
After walking a few steps, she turned her head and saw him still following. She pointed at him, forbidding him to follow.
Also helpless, he stopped following her and watched from a distance.
Once she turned the corner, he waited at the corner her to come out of the restroom.
Due to that, he didn't see Evella enter the men's restroom.
