Chapter 526 Mother-Daughter Relationship
Ebenezer was shocked and questioned, "How can Nora and Emma be mother and daughter? Nora is my biological daughter! We even had a DNA test that confirmed it. Does this mean Nora is also Emma's biological daughter?"
Ebenezer was in disbelief, thinking aloud, "Our biological daughter passed away. What is going on? Could it be that the baby we lost wasn't our biological child after all?"
The realization hit him, causing a sharp pain in his chest.
"Dad, please calm down," Howard said, noticing Ebenezer's distress. He gently patted his back.
After taking a few deep breaths, Ebenezer's shock turned into tears of joy. "I can't believe it. Nora is our biological daughter, Howard. She's your sister, and she's alive!" he exclaimed.
Howard was both shocked and overjoyed, and suggested, "We are one family. Our bond will only grow stronger from now on!"
"Quick, call Nora and ask her to come to the hospital," Ebenezer urged.
"I'll call her right away," Howard said.
Nora was on her way to the hospital for Kenneth's check-up when she received Howard's call.
"Howard, why are you so excited? Did Kenneth regain consciousness?" she asked curiously.
"You'll find out when you get here," Howard replied, keeping it a secret.
"Why all the secrecy?" Nora chuckled and hung up. When she arrived at the hospital, she saw Ebenezer and Howard waiting for her outside Kenneth's room. Their eyes were filled with excitement.
Nora felt a shiver run down her spine. "Dad, Howard, what's going on? Why are you so happy?" she asked.
Howard's eyes were filled with warmth. "Nora, you're my biological sister," he said.
Nora looked at him, puzzled. "Your biological sister? What do you mean?" she asked, seeking clarification.
Nora remarked, "Although I'm your sister, I'm not your biological sister, right?"
"Nora, my daughter! I never imagined you would be the true princess of our family," Ebenezer said with a smile.
Nora looked at Ebenezer, then at Howard, still confused. "Dad, Howard, can you please explain?" she pleaded.
"I'm the true princess of our family? Am I not an illegitimate child? Wasn't I mistakenly identified?" she stated.
"Nora, I haven't figured out what went wrong. But you're not my illegitimate child, and your mother is not Charles's wife. She is my wife, Emma," Ebenezer said.
Nora was stunned. "Dad, you're confusing me. Are you saying that I'm your biological daughter and Mrs. Hamilton's?" she asked.
"Yes," Ebenezer replied.
Nora looked at Ebenezer, feeling a sense of bewilderment. "But didn't your biological daughter pass away?" she asked.
"That's why I said I don't know what went wrong," Ebenezer said.
He added, "Nora, the child who passed away back then was not my biological daughter with your mother. You are our biological daughter."
Nora was shocked. "Who told you that I am your biological daughter?" she asked.
"The facts," Ebenezer said, handing her a report. "Nora, did you have a blood test a few days ago?"
Nora replied, "Yes."
"Take a look for yourself," Ebenezer said and handed the report to Nora. "Your blood type matches your mother's, and the DNA test confirms that you are mother and daughter."
Nora looked at the report in her hand, her eyes filled with shock. "How could such an error occur? So, I'm not the illegitimate daughter of the Hamilton family. My real mother is Emma!" she exclaimed.
Nora felt like the world had turned upside down. She stood there, staring at the report in her hand.
"I will have this matter re-examined. Nora, your mother will be very happy to know about this," Ebenezer said.
Nora slowly looked up, still finding it hard to believe. "Dad, am I really your biological daughter?" she asked.
Ebenezer smiled and replied, "My dear daughter, a genetic test cannot be wrong. You are indeed my biological daughter."
Howard said, "Dad, Nora, let's go back and tell Mom the good news."
"Yes, let's go home," Ebenezer said, overjoyed.
"Wait," Nora quickly said.
"What's wrong? Nora, don't you believe it?" Ebenezer asked.
Nora shook her head and said, "No, did you forget about Kenneth? I have to go and check on him."
Ebenezer slapped his forehead, and said, "I was too happy. Go ahead, we'll wait for you outside."
"Okay." Nora entered the ward, still finding it hard to believe the truth. "My biological mother is Emma! How can this be? What will Emma think if she knows I'm her biological daughter?" she asked herself.
This question was answered when Nora returned to the Hamilton Manor with Ebenezer and Howard.
Emma saw Nora, initially feeling puzzled, but her expression turned cold when she heard Ebenezer call Nora's name.
"So, you're Nora?" Emma said.
'Ebenezer's illegitimate daughter. She looks like this! Indeed, there is some resemblance. If she looks like me, it means she looks like Ebenezer's first girlfriend!' Emma clenched her teeth in anger at the thought of what Suzy had told her.
"Emma, Nora is our biological daughter," Ebenezer spoke up, intending to explain the current situation to her.
Emma snorted, "Ebenezer, although I have amnesia, I have only lost six months of memory. I don't have Alzheimer's, and I haven't forgotten everything from the past."
She was referring to the fact that she had a biological daughter.
Ebenezer explained, "Emma, listen to me. I don't know where things went wrong. Our biological daughter didn't actually die; she is Nora."
Emma glared at him, and scoffed, "Shit! Don't think I don't know. She is actually your illegitimate daughter with another woman! You, for the sake of your face, let others believe that she is our biological daughter and let her be admired by others! How could you do this to me, Ebenezer!"
Hearing this, Ebenezer frowned, and asked, "Who told you? Was it Suzy?" Emma shouldn't have remembered this due to her amnesia.
"I don't care who told me. You make her leave here immediately and don't let her come in front of me again to make me angry!" Emma pointed at Nora and shouted.
