Chapter 689 Stabbing Howard with Words

Howard frowned. "Nora, why do I feel like you're leaning towards him?"

Maybe Nora thought that Joseph was better suited for Evella than Howard.

Nora burst out laughing.

"No way, you're my brother. Even if you weren't as good-looking as him, I'd still be on your side."

Howard's brow remained furrowed. "Nora, I can't tell if you're complimenting me or insulting me!"

Nora's eyes curved with her smile. "Howard, whether I'm complimenting or insulting you makes no difference. The main point is what Evella thinks. When Her dad was alive, he said that if he had a daughter, he would marry her to Joseph Martinez."

Hearing this, Howard's heart tightened.

But he nonchalantly said, "So what? Evella and I are in a relationship now."

Nora raised an eyebrow, not forgetting to tease him. "But that was her dad's dying wish, and you don't exactly have her uncle's favor. Who knows if Richard will stab you in the back and secretly set up Evella with Joseph Martinez?"

Those words really hit hard.

Howard regretted it deeply now.

Why didn't he have the foresight to see that Richard was Evella's uncle back then?

"It shouldn't be that bad. After all, Evella likes me. Richard should let her make her own decision."

Nora blinked her beautiful eyes and stabbed Howard in the heart again. "Howard, does Evella like you so much that she can't live without you?"

Howard choked. "Not really."

Nora shrugged as if she had expected this.

Howard felt a headache coming on.

He took a deep breath and pulled out his phone to call Evella.

Howard needed to speed up his pursuit and make Evella love him so much that she couldn't live without him!

The phone rang a few times before it was answered.

Just as Howard was about to speak, a male voice came through the phone.

"Hello?"

Howard's words got stuck in his throat, and he squinted his eyes.

"This is Evella's phone. Who are you?"

The other person said, "Are you Dr. Hamilton? I'm Joseph Martinez, Evella's brother."

Just as they were talking about Joseph, he appeared.

Howard steadied his tone. "Hello, could you please let Evella answer the phone?"

"Evella is taking a shower. I'll have her call you back when she's done."

With that, Joseph hung up the phone.

Howard gripped his phone tightly, and his brow furrowed deeply.

Nora, seeing his gloomy expression, looked curious.

"Howard, what's wrong? Wasn't it Evella who answered?"

Howard's face darkened. "Joseph answered. He said Evella is taking a shower!"

Nora was speechless.

It was still early, and Evella was already taking a shower.

Indeed, it was quite suspicious!

"Howard, don't overthink it. Maybe it's just a regular shower." Nora tried to comfort him.

Howard glanced at her, his tone sullen. "If it's not a regular shower, then what kind of shower is it?"

Nora fell silent.

Today might not be a good day for her to comfort people.

"Nora, you go home. I'm going to find Evella." Howard quickly walked towards his office.

"Howard, where are you going to find her?" Nora asked.

"I'm asking Richard."

Howard called Richard as he walked.

"Richard, is Evella with you?"

"Are you outside?"

"I just called her, and her brother answered. They're together."

Nora listened to Howard's fading voice and smiled.

Howard was getting a bit nervous!

He had previously seen Richard as a rival, and now, suddenly, Joseph appeared. Hopefully, Joseph wasn't his real competition!

Nora was hungry.

She swallowed and prepared to head home.

Just as she stepped out of the hospital, she saw Frederick waiting for her.

"Frederick, are you waiting for me?"

"Yes, Dr. Smith. I've got the person under control," Frederick said respectfully.

Nora blinked. "Is he Curtis Romero?"

"Yes."

"Great, where is he now?"

"He's in an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts."

"Alright, so it's my turn."

"Yes."

Frederick was impressive.

Nora's eyes curved with a smile. Seeing that Frederick had brought her car back, she got into Frederick's car and then called Jackson.

The phone rang a few times before it was answered.

"Hello?"

There was a lot of noise in the background.

Jackson was probably out partying again.

A trace of disgust flashed in Nora's eyes, but she didn't show it on her face.

"Aaron, where are you?"

"I'm out socializing."

"Where are you socializing? I have something important to tell you."

"What's so important?"

"It's about your car accident."

Jackson noticeably paused, and the noise in the background quieted down.

"My car accident?"

"Yes, where are you? I'll come to you, and we can talk face-to-face," Nora said.

"Come to Blissful Oasis Lounge, room 3088."

"Alright."

After hanging up, Nora coldly instructed Frederick to drive to Blissful Oasis Lounge.

At the lounge, Jackson frowned and waved away the hostesses, trying to get close to him. "All of you, get out."

The hostesses exchanged glances and, seeing his displeased expression, quickly left.

Jackson sat on the sofa, thought for a moment, and picked up his phone to call Curtis Romero.

But the call went unanswered.

Jackson frowned. Curtis wasn't picking up.

Nora, suddenly talking about the car accident, had been investigating it behind his back.

What had Nora found out?

Soon, Nora arrived.

Jackson greeted her with a smile and poured her a drink.

"Nora, come to sit."

Nora didn't say anything and sat on one side of the sofa.

Seeing her cold expression and the distance she kept, a flash of impatience crossed Jackson's eyes.

But he didn't show it on his face. Instead, he took his drink and sat next to Nora.

"Do you want to drink?"

"You know I don't like drinking." Nora pushed the glass away, her voice cold.

"Should I get you a soft drink?" Jackson asked, trying to be patient.

"No, I'm not thirsty," Nora replied.

Jackson, preoccupied with thoughts of the car accident, didn't feel like playing games with her.

He put down his glass and asked, "What did you mean on the phone?"

Nora glanced at him and deliberately said, "You see, even though you're unfaithful to me, I'm still concerned about you. I came to tell you that I've found out the truth about your car accident."

The smile on Jackson's face froze, and his eyes flickered.

Who asked her to meddle?

She should just put herself as the eldest daughter of the Hamilton family.

Jackson cursed inwardly but didn't show it on his face.

"What truth about the car accident?"

"The accident you had in Highty City. I had Johnnie investigate it secretly and found out some things."
