Chapter 924 Were They a Good Match?

Nora smiled and gently pushed Gabriella away.

"Here to see Aaron?"

Gabriella smoothed her hair. "Not just him, I'm here for Johnnie too."

Nora and Aaron were both surprised.

"You're here for Johnnie?" Aaron asked.

"I want him to have dinner with me," Gabriella replied with a smile.

Aaron was puzzled. "Dinner? Why?"

"Isn't that what boyfriends do?" Gabriella said.

Aaron's eyes narrowed. "You're saying you're Johnnie's girlfriend?"

"Yep, we just started dating. You don't mind, do you?" Gabriella asked.

Aaron frowned, thinking about Johnnie's nervousness yesterday. So, Gabriella was the new girlfriend.

Aaron had a gut feeling they weren't a good match. Gabriella was outgoing, Johnnie was introverted. It didn't seem right.

"Gabriella, are you serious about Johnnie?"

"Yes, I find him interesting. I want to see where it goes," she said. "If things go well, maybe marriage."

Aaron warned, "Gabriella, Johnnie's a straightforward guy. Don't mess with him."

Gabriella laughed. "Shouldn't I be worried about him messing with me?"

Aaron shot back, "Do you even look like a woman?"

Gabriella clutched her chest, pretending to be hurt. "So mean. Nora, control your husband."

Nora thought of Jane's warning and lowered her eyes. Gabriella and Johnnie were actually dating. She was surprised but figured maybe they were overthinking it. Gabriella probably wasn't interested in Aaron anymore.

Nora smiled. "Want to have dinner together?"

"Sure," Gabriella said.

Nora was just being polite.

"Didn't you say you came to have dinner with Johnnie? You two go out, don't disturb us." Aaron didn't want to have dinner with them. He wanted alone time with Nora.

"Mr. Gordon, you're so stingy. It's more fun together." Gabriella pouted. "Alright, I'll go have dinner with Johnnie."

She greeted Nora and left.

As soon as the door closed, Nora asked, "Honey, do you think she and Johnnie are a good match?"

Aaron put his arm around her. "Only they know. We shouldn't interfere."

Nora nodded. "You're right."

They walked to the lounge area, and Aaron turned Nora around.

"Still worried she has any improper thoughts about me?" Aaron asked.

Nora raised an eyebrow. "Aaron, how about I make you a plain, boring mask so no woman will want to seduce you?"

Aaron chuckled, pinching her chin and giving her a quick kiss. "How about you come to work with me every day? Let's see who dares to try then."

Nora rolled her eyes. "Stop dreaming. Let's eat."

"I want to eat you."

"Stop it."

"Playing around helps with digestion."

Meanwhile, Gabriella and Johnnie went to a nearby restaurant.

"Stop sending me those photos," Johnnie said, feeling uncomfortable.

"Why? Don't you like them? You can't get enough of me in bed," Gabriella teased, brushing her foot against his thigh.

Johnnie's face turned red, and he pulled his leg back. "Gabriella, stop that!"

Gabriella laughed. "You look so cute when you're serious."

Johnnie ignored her and started ordering food.

Gabriella played with her water glass. "What did Nora and Aaron talk about after they came back?"

Johnnie looked cautious. "Why do you ask?"

Gabriella shrugged. "Mrs. Gordon seems more distant now. Did she misunderstand something?"

Johnnie asked seriously, "Gabriella, do you like Mr. Gordon?"

Gabriella raised an eyebrow. "Why do you ask?"

"Because he's so outstanding, any woman would like him," Johnnie replied.

Gabriella smiled. "Are you jealous?"

Johnnie shook his head. "No, I just admire him."

Gabriella's eyes flickered. "What if I do like him?"

Johnnie snapped, "He has a wife. Don't be a homewrecker."

Gabriella laughed. "I'm just joking. Relax."

Johnnie didn't respond, and Gabriella's foot brushed his calf again. "You know who I like. It's not Mr. Gordon."

Johnnie moved her leg away. "Let's eat."

Gabriella shifted the topic back. "Did they say something about me?"

Johnnie nodded. "A few days ago, you went to a party with Mr. Gordon and met one of Mrs. Gordon's friends, right? Maybe her friend misunderstood and called Mrs. Gordon. That's why she's cold towards you."

A dark look crossed Gabriella's face. It was Jane meddling!

"Some people really need to mind their own business!"

Johnnie said, "You can't blame them for being cautious. Too many women have improper thoughts about Mr. Gordon. It's normal for Mrs. Gordon's friend to warn her."

Gabriella glanced at Johnnie, a hint of mockery in her eyes. "Johnnie, do you like me?"
