Edward glared at him. "Do you think I was you?"
Edric smirked. "Dad, I'm your son; I have your genes. If I'm a flirt, it's inherited from you."
Edward glared at him again. "Stop talking nonsense. I've never betrayed your mom."
Edric raised an eyebrow and patted his shoulder.
"Dad, we're both men. I get it."
Edward frowned. "Get what?"
Edric looked knowing. "I get your thoughts!"
Edward asked, "What thoughts?"
Edric replied, "You have the heart but not the guts."
Edward was speechless.
"Stop talking nonsense. I am a gentleman!"
Edric chuckled. "Yes, I never said you weren't!"
Annoyed by Edric's teasing, Edward glared at him again and said nothing more.
After a while, the emergency room door opened.
The doctor came out.
The attending physician was a familiar doctor, Kent.
Edric helped Edward up and walked over.
"Dr. Kent, how is my wife?" Edward asked.
"She had a sudden emotional outburst, but she's fine now. However, her heart isn't in good condition, so she needs to rest and avoid any more stress," Kent said.
Edward sighed in relief. The two thanked Kent and then went to the VIP ward.
At this time, Fiona was still asleep. Edward and Edric sat for a while, and then she woke up.
"Mom, you're awake?" Edric called out.
Fiona had just woken up, her eyes still a bit dazed.

Edric said to Edward, then turned to Fiona, "Mom, calm down. You've known Dad for so many years. Maybe you really misunderstood him."
Fiona's chest heaved. "I misunderstood him? Fine, Edward, call that woman here. I want to confront her face to face!"
Edward frowned, displeased. "I said there's nothing between us. I just went to listen to some music. Why do you have to be so unreasonable?"
Fiona added, "If there's nothing, why won't you let me confront her?"
Edward replied, "Because it's unnecessary!"
Fiona refuted, "I think you're just feeling guilty!"
Edward snapped, "I'm not feeling guilty. You're being unreasonable!"
Instead of admitting his mistake, Edward was criticizing her. This made Fiona furious.
"I'm being unreasonable? Edward, do you think I'm old and unattractive, not as exciting as the women outside?"
"You!"
"Edward, I'm telling you, protecting that bitch won't help. I'll have someone dig up all her details!"
Fiona's face twisted with anger, her pale face contorted.
Edward was extremely annoyed, his frustration about to explode.
"Look at how aggressive you are. No wonder our son doesn't want to come home or listen to you anymore. You're becoming more and more unreasonable. I think you're getting senile dementia!"
Fiona glared at Edward, her eyes rolling back in anger, almost fainting again.
"Mom, don't get upset. Dad, could you stop making things worse?"
Edric quickly comforted Fiona.
Edward frowned and said nothing.
Fiona calmed down and cried. "Do you all wish I were dead now? So you can get you way, and no one will control you anymore."

They went outside the ward, and Edric asked, "Dad, tell me, who is that woman you went to see?"

Edward knew Edric's methods.
He was really afraid Edric would cause trouble for Betsy because of Fiona's words.
Edric's brown eyes narrowed. "Dad, why are you so nervous? Do you really have feelings for the singer?"
Edward's eyes flashed. "Stop talking nonsense. We're just friends who get along well despite the age difference."
Edric didn't miss Edward's subtle expression, secretly alarmed.
"Dad, are you emotionally cheating?"
Maybe Edward wouldn't cheat physically , but he might be cheating emotionally!
Edward looked ahead and sighed, "Edric, your mom's temper has been getting worse these years. Sometimes, I need an outlet."
Therefore, Edward did cheat emotionally!
Edric frowned. "Dad, do you think that singer is a good match for you?"
Edward said, "Although I haven't known her for long, we do get along well."
Edric looked at Edward, thinking this situation was not right.
For someone like Edward, a woman's beauty was only part of the reason why he fell for her. More important was the emotional connection.
