Chapter 991 I Had already dumped him.
As soon as the call connected, Gabriella started with sarcasm.
Aaron smirked. "Not worried? Got someone else you like?"
"The one I like? Don't tell me it's that self-righteous assistant of yours!" Gabriella scoffed.
"Isn't it?" Aaron put the call on speaker so Johnnie could hear.
"Of course not! I'm way above liking an assistant," Gabriella denied.
Aaron raised an eyebrow. "Then why keep him around as your boyfriend?"
"Mr. Gordon, you're mistaken," Gabriella said. "I only see him as a servant. I was just playing with him, and now I'm bored. I've already dumped him."
Aaron glanced at Johnnie, who showed no reaction. "Oh, then I'll let him know he doesn't need to look for you anymore. You've blacklisted him, so you two won't be in contact again, right?"
Gabriella snorted, "He's looking for me?"
Aaron replied, "Sort of, not really."
Gabriella asked, "What do you mean?"
"When Johnnie reported to me, he asked if you'd been to the office. I said no, so he called you, only to find out he'd been blacklisted," Aaron said vaguely.
"So, he wasn't actually looking for me?" Gabriella asked.
"Do you want him to look for you?" Aaron countered.
Gabriella replied, "No."
Aaron smirked. "Women always say one thing and mean another. So, you actually want Johnnie to look for you?"
Gabriella snorted, "Mr. Gordon, you're really free. Do you have anything else? If not, I'm hanging up. I'm busy."
"You're not in Youston?" Aaron asked, fishing for her location.
"Yeah, I went back to the country for a collaboration."
Gabriella had indeed returned to the country.
Aaron raised an eyebrow. "What collaboration?"
"Why?"
"Just asking."
"It's with Seafarer Enterprises from Harbor City," Gabriella said. "They're looking for partners in Hchilia, and I'm helping them. Why, Mr. Gordon, are you interested in maritime shipping?"
Aaron smirked. "The Gordon Group is into comprehensive development. If the project's good, I'm interested."
Gabriella added, "Well, you're too late. I've almost closed the deal."
"That's a pity. Next time you have a good project, don't forget about us at the Gordon Group."
Aaron got the info he needed and didn't continue the conversation.
"Alright, I have nothing else. I'm hanging up."
"Wait a minute," Gabriella called out.
"Anything else?"
"Just a reminder, don't forget to send me the next quarter's work plan."
Aaron glanced at Johnnie. "You've blacklisted Johnnie. How's he supposed to contact you?"
Gabriella snorted, "Mr. Gordon, is he the only assistant you have? If you need someone better, I can help."
Aaron glanced at Johnnie again. "No need, I have talented people. Alright, I'll have someone else contact you in the future."
After hanging up, Aaron looked at Johnnie. "You heard that? She's back in Hchilia."
"Yeah, I heard."
Johnnie paused. "She said to have someone else contact her."
"She’s actually giving you a chance to get close to her again," Aaron said. "Do you still want to pursue her?"
Johnnie was quiet for a moment, then nodded.
"Alright, use your alternate account to contact her," Aaron suggested.
"Thanks, Mr. Gordon." Johnnie smiled gratefully. "If possible, I'd like to take some more time off."
Aaron understood. "You want to go to Hchilia to find her?"
"Yes."
"Alright, go ahead. Nora and I will also be heading to Hchilia in a few days."
Johnnie looked up. "For business?"
"Both business and personal matters."
"What's the business?"
"You know, Rafael took a fake confidential document. There should be some issues soon. Mateo might need our support."
Johnnie nodded, looking serious.
Aaron continued, "As for personal matters, Millie's issue isn't resolved yet. Also, Hugo's health is being treated by Seraphina. Nora is worried and wants to check on her progress."
Johnnie understood. "Got it. I'll head out now."
"Okay."
Johnnie left the Gordon Group and drove back home. He switched to his alternate account and added Gabriella on WhatsApp.
Note: [Secretary Marlowe.]
Soon, Gabriella added him back.
Johnnie started messaging her : [Hello, Ms. Costa. This is Marlowe from the secretary's office. Mr. Perez asked me to send you the next quarter's work plan.]
Gabriella replied: [You can just send it to my email.]
Johnnie noted the cold message. Even though he couldn't see her, he could sense her usual arrogance.
Johnnie commented: [Mr. Perez said I would be the one contacting you from now on, so I wanted to inform you first.]
Gabriella didn't reply.
Johnnie waited a bit, then typed another message: [Ms. Costa, are you dating Mr. Perez?]
Gabriella: [Who told you that?]
Johnnie: [I overheard Mr. Gordon and Mr. Perez talking just now.]
Gabriella: [What did they say?]
Johnnie: [Mr. Gordon asked Mr. Perez if he still wanted to pursue you.]
Gabriella: [What did he say?]
Johnnie deliberately paused for a few seconds and didn't reply.
Gabriella: [Where are you? Why aren't you responding?]
She was getting anxious.
Johnnie smirked and then typed: [Sorry, I didn't hear clearly. It seemed like Mr. Perez said he did, but also seemed like he said he didn't.]
Gabriella didn't reply again.
Johnnie: [Ms. Costa, are you having a fight with Mr. Perez?]
Gabriella: [You're a bit nosy.]
Johnnie's eyes flickered, and he typed another line.
Johnnie: [Because I also admire Mr. Perez.]
He said this on purpose to see how Gabriella would respond.
Suddenly, a music sound rang out. Gabriella sent a video call request.
Johnnie, fully focused on waiting for her reply, was startled by the music. He quickly declined the call.
Gabriella must be getting anxious again.
Gabriella: [Why didn't you answer the video call?]
Johnnie smirked. He found it quite interesting to get information from Gabriella this way.
Johnnie: [Sorry, I'm at work. It's not appropriate to chat about personal matters.]
Gabriella: [What's your name?]
Johnnie: [Marlowe Patel.]
