Chapter 1036 Stricken with a Strange Illness

"Scarlett had been having nightmares, waking up in the middle of the night, saying something was pressing on her. She was on the verge of a breakdown and losing weight daily. Even the royal doctors couldn't help.

But after Dr. Yanez did his ritual, Scarlett bounced back quickly. Now she's rosy and eating well," Tomas told Nora and Aaron, trying to prove Yandel's skills.

Nora glanced at Rafael, curiosity in her eyes.

Rafael smirked, pride evident.

Nora got it. Rafael, Scarlett's son, must've staged this to make Tomas believe in Yandel.

Tomas was being played.

"Seems like Dr. Yanez is the real deal," Nora said with a slight smile.

"Thanks," Yandel replied, a hint of disdain in his eyes.

Nora continued, "If you're so skilled, can you see Rafael's health isn't great?"

Rafael, who had been smug, was caught off guard.

He sneered at Nora. "What nonsense, Dr. Smith? I'm perfectly healthy."

"Really? Dr. Yanez, what do you think?" Yandel was puzzled.

He glanced at Rafael, eyes shifting. "Rafael's health isn't perfect, but it's just minor issues. Everyone has some."

His words were vague, neither good nor bad.

Nora wasn't buying it. "I said Rafael's health isn't good, not just minor issues. Dr. Yanez, did you really not know?"

She smiled, speaking calmly.

Yandel frowned. 'What does Nora mean? I hadn't heard Rafael had any major issues.'

"Does Nora think Rafael has a serious illness?" Mateo chimed in.

Nora smirked. "There are signs of it."

"Really? What serious illness?" Mateo asked.

"I need to diagnose him to find out," Nora said, stepping towards Rafael.

Rafael looked wary and stepped back. "I'm not sick, no need for a diagnosis."

Nora smiled. "Please cooperate, Rafael. Dr. Yanez and I disagree, and I have my pride. I don't want King Tomas to laugh at me."

Tomas got interested. "Rafael, it's just a diagnosis. If you're not sick, great. If you are, early diagnosis means early treatment."

Rafael couldn't refuse.

Nora stepped forward but suddenly tripped. "Oh no."

"Careful," Aaron quickly supported her, worried. "Nora, are you okay? Did you get scared?"

Nora gave him a playful look. "Why didn't you catch me earlier?"

Aaron met her eyes and raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, my bad."

Aaron thought, 'Here we go. Nora's up to something.'

Mateo watched with interest, knowing Nora was up to something.

He ordered two chairs and settled in to watch the show.

"Please sit, Rafael," Nora said.

Rafael, though reluctant, sat down under Tomas's watchful eye.

Nora positioned Aaron to block Yandel's view, then sat next to Rafael, examining him closely. She suddenly leaned in, making Rafael's heart skip a beat. Nora's beauty was distracting, and he felt flustered. "What's wrong, Dr. Smith?"

Aaron, standing nearby, struggled to keep his cool, resisting the urge to pull Nora away. He reminded himself, 'Don't be jealous. Nora has a reason for this.'

When Nora touched Rafael, Aaron's face darkened further. 'Even if she wants to mess with him, she doesn't need to touch him,' he thought, gritting his teeth.

Rafael, feeling flustered and noticing Aaron's glare, gave a provocative smile. "So, Dr. Smith, do you need to touch patients to diagnose them? Did you figure out my symptoms?"

Nora smiled and extended her hand to Aaron. "Honey, wipe my hand."

Aaron, suppressing his anger, took a wet wipe from Mateo and cleaned Nora's fingers one by one.

Yandel approached, mocking. "I've heard Chrisland Herbalists are skilled, but this is the first time I've seen one touch the patient."

Nora smiled. "You're a shaman, so it's normal for you to be ignorant."

Yandel was taken aback. "Herbalists generally don't need to touch the patient. Only in complicated cases do we need to diagnose further," Nora explained.

Rafael's smile faded. "Complicated diseases? What do you mean? Do I have a strange illness?"

Nora replied, "It's not exactly strange, but I needed to confirm."

Yandel sneered. "Dr. Smith, don't alarm people. What's Rafael's illness?"

Nora glanced at him. "So, you didn't notice anything wrong with Rafael?"

Yandel was silent, glaring at her.

Aaron smirked. "Seems Dr. Yanez's skills are limited."

Yandel's face darkened. "Please, Dr. Smith, stop being mysterious. What's Rafael's illness?"

"Yes, Nora, tell us quickly," Tomas added.
