Chapter 764 A Good Marriage Could Transform a Person
The next day, Nora was awakened by the ringing of the phone.
She groggily opened one eye and reached out to grab her phone.
"Hello?"
"Nora, have you returned to Youston?"
Becky's voice came through the phone.
Nora, with her eyes closed, replied, "I came back last night."
Sensing her drowsiness, Becky teased, "Are you still asleep? I'm sorry. Did we disturb you and Aaron ?"
Nora smiled slightly, stretched lazily, and asked, "What time is it?"
"It's past nine; I'm getting ready to board a plane," Becky replied.
Nora's drowsiness dissipated a bit as she sat up in bed.
"You and Lucas will come to my dad's birthday banquet tonight, right?" Nora said.
Becky was now back in Youston, presumably to attend Caden's birthday banquet.
After all, Lucas's family was a branch of the Gordon family.
They would definitely come to Caden's birthday banquet.
"You're calling him dad now?" Becky teased.
Nora smiled, lifted the covers, and got out of bed. "Yes, I am now officially Mrs. Gordon. I need to change the way I address Aaron's parents."
Becky was taken aback, realizing and probing, "Did you and Aaron get married?"
"Yes."
"You are fast! congratulations!"
"Thank you."
"Well, Mrs. Gordon, see you tonight," Becky teased.
Nora smiled and didn't joke with Becky anymore.
She hung up and went to the bathroom to freshen up.
When Nora finished freshening up and went downstairs, she found the living room downstairs quite lively.
Noe, Seraphina, and several children were there.
Nora was surprised that they had come so early in the morning.
Aaron had called them over.
"Mommy's awake!"
Millie, sharp-eyed, was the first to see Nora and happily ran towards her.
The other children all called out to Nora.
Nora felt warm inside, picked up Millie and kissed her little face, then walked towards the others.
"Goodmorning, kids," Nora said.
"Dad asked Uncle Noe to bring us, saying to visit a great-grandma when you woke up," Millie replied.
Nora glanced at Aaron, who was sitting on the sofa looking at his computer, his handsome features involuntarily smiling.
Aaron understood her so well.
"Millie, come down, let Mommy eat something first; she must be starving," Aaron said.
"Okay." Millie got down from Nora.
Facing the warm gazes of the others, Nora felt a bit uneasy.
Even the children were up earlier than her.
"Have you all had breakfast?" To ease the awkwardness, Nora asked.
Then she regretted asking.
It was already late; they must have eaten already.
She could be a bit silly again.
"Honey, are you pregnant?" Aaron suddenly said.
"How is that possible?" Nora was taken aback and denied vehemently.
Aaron raised an eyebrow. "But I think you look like it now."
"How?" Nora was confused.
She didn't feel like throwing up early in the morning.
"Pregnant makes people become fools; looking at your current state, it seems like it," Aaron said.
Nora was speechless.
Aaron had just picked up on her words and concluded she was pregnant.
Nora didn't say anything; she just threw a cushion from the sofa at Aaron.
Samantha and Millie laughed.
Seraphina couldn't help but laugh, too, saying, "You have a loving family."
This heartwarming scene truly made people feel happy after watching.
"You should understand why I teared up when they got their marriage certificate last night at the Gordon Manor," Noe said.
Seraphina nodded. "I understand because you watched them come this far, and you're happy for them."
Noe had told Seraphina many stories about Aaron and Nora last night.
Seraphina was amazed and yearning.
Seraphina didn't understand love, thinking that marriage was love.
It turned out it was not!
Love was a feeling that couldn't be described in any language.
It was a mutual attraction.
Seraphina subconsciously glanced at Noe beside her.
Noe was lounging on the sofa, engrossed in the television, his striking features radiating an undeniable charisma.
Seraphina's gaze shifted away slightly.
After eating, Nora took the children to visit Carter.
Carter was in good spirits, and when he saw Nora and the children return, he was both surprised and delighted.
Upon learning that Aaron and Nora had gotten married, he was even more overjoyed and teary-eyed.
"Alright, Nora, I am relieved to see you've found happiness again. Aaron, you must take good care of Nora in the future."
"Grandma, please rest assured, I will." Aaron nodded solemnly.
They chatted and laughed, having lunch there.
In the afternoon, after the children took a nap, they set off for Caden's birthday banquet.
Originally, as relatives, the Hamilton family should have all come.
But coincidentally, Ebenezer had an old comrade from a neighboring city whose birthday was also today, and they had agreed to meet early on.
So Ebeneze took Emma to meet his old comrade. He was sorry that he couldn't come to Caden's birthday banquet.
Kenneth was very nervous these days because Sandy's due date was approaching, so he stayed by Sandy's side and didn't go anywhere.
Howard had a major surgery tonight so that he couldn't make it either.
The Hamilton family asked Nora to convey their blessings to them.
Caden didn't take it to heart, only waiting for the Hamilton family and the Gordon family to gather again at Nora and Aaron's wedding.
Tonight, Caden's birthday banquet was held at the Oman Hotel.
Looking at the familiar logo, Nora felt a bit emotional.
This place made her both sad and fortunate.
Her fate with Aaron began here.
She felt her hand warm as Aaron held it.
"Honey, Do you want to revisit the past?"
Nora was speechless, feeling that he was trying to mess around with her.
Nora pulled her hand away from Aaron, patted him, and said, "Today is your dad's special day, so behave yourself."
Aaron chuckled lightly, saw Nora get out of the car, and didn't tease her further.
Getting out of the car, Aaron didn't even care about the children in the car behind; he took Nora's hand and walked towards the hotel.
The children behind didn't need Aaron's attention either.
Because Noe and Seraphina were there to look after them the whole time.
Tonight, the Gordon family was the host of the birthday banquet.
So Caden and Jeffery had naturally arrived early.
When Nora and the others entered, there were no guests in the hotel yet.
Only Caden, Jeffery, some members of the Gordon family, and a few staff members setting up the venue were there.
Caden and Jeffery were talking to some relatives, including Lucas's parents.
Seeing Aaron and Nora arrive, they politely greeted the two.
Aaron nodded slightly to everyone, maintaining his usual aloof attitude.
As soon as Aaron appeared, he became the center of the evening, quickly surrounded by everyone.
"Nora." Becky and Lucas, with their son Michael, came over from the direction of the restroom.
Becky waved at Nora.
Nora smiled, her gaze falling on Michael, remembering the scene when she met him last year.
She remembered Michael as a crybaby and quite timid.
But now Michael looked very happy.
Well, Becky and Lucas were now a loving couple, which had a big impact on Michael.
"Nora," Lucas and Nora greeted each other politely.
Nora responded and observed him.
Lucas seemed to have matured a lot.
There was a certain aristocratic air about him in his demeanor and gestures.
Quite different from the image of him being materialistic in her memory.
Indeed, a good marriage could transform a person.
