Chapter 433 No Thanks to Me
Aaron's dodging movements slowed down, naturally getting hit by several little kids' snowballs.
The children laughed, their laughter lingering in the air, blending with the white snow.
The clouds in the sky brightened a bit.
They continued playing for over half an hour, Nora panting. Seeing that the kids' clothes were all wet, she quickly said, "All right, kids, let's go back inside. If you keep playing, you'll catch a cold."
Their clothes must be drenched in sweat by now, and if they persisted in playing and were exposed to the chilly wind, they could easily catch a cold.
Despite the children's desire to keep playing, they dutifully returned indoors.
Jacob had already instructed the staff to be ready. Upon the children's return to the house, the servants assisted them in bathing and changing clothes.
Nora, having perspired significantly, headed upstairs to change her clothes.
Entering the room, she took out her phone and scrolled through it, seeing that many people had liked her latest Instagram post.
They were all familiar people who had liked her post, and there were also some comments.
Most of the comments were expressing envy and teasing.
Nora smiled and was about to put away her phone when Jenny sent her a message.
Jenny: [Dear, you're showing off early in the morning, so I'll do the same.]
Nora was curious about what kind of "affection" her friend was going to show off, so Jenny soon sent a photo.
It was a wedding photo.
It turned out that Jenny and Edric had gotten their marriage certificate!
In the wedding photo, the handsome man and the beautiful woman are smiling sweetly, which makes people envious.
Jenny: [Just freshly baked wedding photo, Nora, how about that?]
Jenny sent another message.
Even without seeing her in person, Nora could sense her friend's joy and excitement at this moment.
Nora: [Congratulations! It is absolutely overwhelming!]
Nora chuckled and replied.
As a thought crossed Nora's mind, she asked Jenny about it.
Nora: [But isn't today a weekend? How can you get your marriage certificate?]
Jenny quickly replied.
Jenny: [Edric said today is the auspicious date, so he insisted on getting the certificate today. He used some connections to make it happen.]
So that's how it was!
Edric attached great importance to their marriage.
That's good.
Nora sincerely felt happy for her friend and typed a line.
Nora: [All you're showing off has really choked me.]
Jenny: [Yes, same here!]
The two chatted for a while.
As soon as Nora finished chatting with her, another message came in.
Evella: [Nora, something big has happened!]
The message was from Evella.
Nora raised an eyebrow and had a faint guess.
However, she pretended not to know and asked,
Nora: [What happened?]
Evella: [My older brother didn't come home last night and actually went to a hotel with Harper! Now my older brother just came back and announced to us that he is engaged to Harper!]
It turned out to be true!
Nora smiled and asked,
Nora: [Did your family agree?]
Evella: [My uncle and aunt have no objections, but my Grandmother was shocked at first but eventually agreed.]
Seeing this message, Nora breathed a sigh of relief.
As long as the eldest brother of the Remington Family doesn't marry Suzy, it's all good.
Evella: [Nora, you don't know about my Grandmother...]
Evella only sent half of the message and then continued the second half in the next message.
Evella: [I have to go to school now. Nora, come to the school at noon, and we can continue chatting.]
Nora: [Okay]
Actually, even without Evella saying it, she knew what Evella wanted to say.
It's just that Mrs. Remington Senior wants Archer to marry Suzy but didn't expect Archer to sleep with Harper.
"What are you so engrossed in? Hurry up and freshen up; be careful not to catch a cold," Aaron pushed the door open and spoke.
Nora looked at him and said, "Thomas, the eldest brother of the Remington Family, is going to be engaged to Harper."
Aaron puzzled, and asked, "How do you know?"
"Evella told me," Nora replied.
"Then does Mrs. Remington Senior still want to marry Evella to Howard?" Aaron asked.
"I didn't ask. Evella said she would tell me at noon," Nora said.
Aaron nodded, and said, "I'll ask Archer later."
Nora was stunned and tested, "Are you going to confess what happened yesterday to him?"
Aaron doubted, and replied, "Why don't you let me confess? Are you afraid that he will scold me?"
Nora glanced at him, and replied, "No, anyway, he won't scold me."
She wasn't the one who came up with the idea.
Aaron laughed and stated, "How could he scold me? He should reward me. I helped him avoid a disaster!"
"Yes, yes, you're right." Nora agreed.
Nora couldn't be bothered with this arrogant person and went into the bathroom to freshen up.
Aaron chuckled and took out his phone to call Archer.
As soon as the call was connected, he teased, "How did you spend the evening, last night, Archer?"
Archer paused for a moment and asked, "Did you orchestrate last night's incident?"
Smart people are wise and understand things as soon as they're mentioned.
Aaron smirked, and teased, "Are you grateful to me?"
Archer found it amusing, saying, "Mr. Gordon, you drugged me for no reason, and I have to thank you?"
Aaron sat down on the sofa, crossing his long legs, and leisurely replied, "Shouldn't you be thanking me? If I hadn't drugged you yesterday, your Grandma would have had you marry Suzy. Are you happy about that?"
Archer remained silent for a while and then laughed, replying, "You have quite the information network."
"Not bad," Aaron replied without modesty. He then asked, "Is your Grandma still planning to marry your sister off to Howard?"
Hearing this, Archer's voice became somber.
"My sister is also a Remington Family heiress. Since Mrs. Hamilton doesn't like my sister, why should my family be eager to put ourselves in an undesirable situation?"
So, Evella won't be married to Howard?
Aaron smirked, and remarked, "That makes sense."
Archer stayed silent for a moment, then softened his tone with a hint of playfulness. "Regardless, thank you for worrying about me," he said.
Aaron chuckled lightly, and teased, "If you really want to thank me, why not give me that piece of land in West Suburb?"
Hearing this, Archer laughed, and replied, "Mr. Gordon, you're quite shrewd."
That piece of land is worth billions, and several large companies are competing for it.
Yet he had the best relationship with the government.
Unless there were any surprises, that land would belong to the Remington Family.
"I rarely play matchmaker. If you want to thank me, you'll have to offer a substantial gift," Aaron said.
Archer laughed, and responded, "What do you need it for? You don't lack land."
"I'll use it as a wedding gift for my future wife," Aaron replied.
Hearing this, Archer said, "All right, since I can finalize my marriage thanks to Ms. Smith, consider that piece of land my gift to you both."
"Thank you," Aaron politely replied and hung up.
The matter was successfully resolved.
His lady should be relieved now!
