Chapter 949 To Overthrow His Belief

Johnnie paused and looked up at her. "How did you know?"

Gabriella took a sip of milk and said, "It's all over the internet. Hard to miss."

Johnnie asked, "You don't want me to stay with you?"

Gabriella glanced at him. "Your heart's already somewhere else, right? No point keeping you here."

Johnnie smiled. "Not true."

Gabriella tore off a piece of bread and ate it. "I don't need you here. Prince Mateo of Hchilia is visiting, and as a Hchilia citizen, I want to see him."

Johnnie asked, "Are you sure?"

"Sure."

Johnnie smiled but hesitated. "But Mr. Gordon might blame me for acting on my own."

Aaron had tasked him with staying with Gabriella.

"If he scolds you instead of being happy about your dedication, you should rethink your boss," Gabriella said.

Johnnie replied, "Mr. Gordon wouldn't scold me without reason. If he does, I must've done something wrong."

Gabriella was speechless. She glared at him and laughed in frustration. "Johnnie, you're totally under Aaron's control."

Johnnie said, "Don't say that. People need faith, and Mr. Gordon is my faith."

Gabriella was determined to change that. She stuffed the rest of her bread into her mouth.

"I'll call Mr. Gordon first," Johnnie said, dialing Aaron's number.

Meanwhile, the Hamilton family had just sent a private jet to take Billy and Samantha back to Lindwood City for school. Before leaving, Billy reminded Aaron and Nora to be cautious of Gabriella. After getting their assurance, he left reluctantly.

Watching the plane, Nora marveled at Aaron's strong genes and gently stroked her belly, wondering what their baby would be like.

After sending off Billy and Samantha, Aaron joined Nora for breakfast. Seeing Johnnie's call, Aaron raised an eyebrow. "Why is Johnnie calling so early?"

Nora glanced at his phone, curious because of Gabriella. "Answer it."

"Okay."

Aaron answered. "Johnnie, what's up?"

"Mr. Gordon, Prince Mateo is visiting Chrisland today. I want to help with the reception," Johnnie said.

Aaron squinted and put the call on speaker for Nora to hear. "Didn't I ask you to stay with Gabriella? Just stay with her; don't worry about things here."

Johnnie glanced at Gabriella. "She thinks I should help with such an important visit."

Aaron and Nora exchanged amused glances.

"Johnnie, did Gabriella really ask you to help me?"

"Yes."

"She might make a good wife," Aaron joked.

Johnnie sensed the change in tone and quickly asked, "So, can I come back and help?"

Aaron thought for a moment. "Alright, without you, my capable assistant, I do feel a bit off."

Johnnie smiled. "Okay, I'll pick you up soon."

"Alright."

After hanging up, Aaron looked at Nora. "Did you hear that? Gabriella asked Johnnie to come back and help with Prince Mateo."

Nora pondered for a moment. "Do you think Gabriella's up to something?"

Aaron's lips curled into a mysterious smile. "It's possible. Don't forget, Prince Mateo has feelings for you. If Gabriella wants revenge for Suzy, she might try something."

Nora nodded. "So, what's the plan?"

Aaron's face turned cold. "Invite her into the trap and see what she does."

Nora sighed, "What a hassle, all because of your face."

Aaron laughed and kissed her. "Honey, don't come with me to pick up Mateo. Just rest at home."

Nora frowned. "No way. I'm Mateo's sister now. I have to greet him."

Aaron wanted to argue, but Nora continued, "Besides, you want to set a trap. If I'm not there, how will Gabriella have a chance to act?"

Aaron swallowed his words and stroked her hair. "You have a point, but you're pregnant..."

"I'm not that weak. It's not my first pregnancy. Don't worry," Nora said.

Aaron didn't argue further. After breakfast, they changed clothes and waited for Johnnie.

Soon, Johnnie arrived with Gabriella.

"Mr. Gordon," Johnnie greeted.

Aaron nodded.

"Nora, I'm here to join you in welcoming Prince Mateo," Gabriella said with a smile.

"Alright," Nora smiled back.

Gabriella took her arm. "You're pregnant, are you okay? If you feel uncomfortable, you should rest at home."

"I'm fine. This isn't my first pregnancy. I'm experienced," Nora said.

Gabriella nodded. "True, but I'm just worried Mr. Gordon will be heartbroken."

Aaron glanced at Nora, looking a bit unhappy. "Let's go."

As they walked outside, Gabriella fell back a couple of steps and whispered to Nora, "What's wrong with Mr. Gordon? He seems unhappy."

Nora, with a spark of intrigue, said, "Why do you think he's unhappy?"

Gabriella immediately caught on. "Is he still jealous of Prince Mateo?"

Nora sighed, "He wants me to rest at home. I said I'm Mateo's sister, so I have to go pick him up, and he got upset. It's like he really thinks there's something going on between me and Mateo. It's exhausting."

Gabriella laughed. "Exhausting? Nora, stop showing off!"

Nora chuckled. "Gabriella, imagine being nagged at every day. If I didn't have a strong mentality, I'd probably be depressed by now."

Gabriella laughed more. "Oh, that's just Mr. Gordon showing his love for you."

Nora shook her head. "This kind of controlling love is really hard to bear."

Gabriella said, "Alright, stop overthinking. It's not good for your baby."

Nora sighed again.

Gabriella looked at Aaron's tall figure ahead and smiled to herself. 'Aaron gets jealous so easily. If I create a little misunderstanding, won't he and Nora have immediate conflicts?'
