Chapter 819 Then Kissed Me

Jane was just trying to tease him and also wanted to vent the frustration she had bottled up in the small fishing village.

Seeing that Zephyr wasn't provoked but rather accepted it, she quickly turned her head away.

"Zephyr, you are quite shameless."

Zephyr glanced at her and laughed. "Why did you turn away? I always thought you are more shameless than me."

Jane snorted lightly, "So you're saying you've been influenced by me."

Zephyr said, "It's possible. After all, we just established our relationship, so I have to align with you a bit."

Jane was speechless. "Dr. Wright, you have quite a sharp tongue."

Zephyr could barely hold it in. "How long are you going to stand there?"

Jane laughed. "Didn't you just say you wanted to align with me? Why are you trying to get rid of me now?"

Zephyr gritted his teeth and, without further ado, started to relieve himself.

Hearing the sound of water, Jane's ears turned slightly red.

She raised her hand to fan herself. "It stinks. I'll wait for you outside. If you can't stand, just call out, don't fall."

'She looked for it,' He thought.

Zephyr wanted to retort but swallowed his words, fearing Jane might stay and spy on him.

Finally emptying his bladder, he felt much more relaxed.

The wounds on his arm and neck were starting to ache as the anesthesia wore off, but Zephyr couldn't help but smile.

After tidying up his clothes, he grabbed the IV bottle and walked out of the bathroom.

At this moment, Jane was leaning against the wall with her arms crossed, waiting for him.

Seeing Zephyr come out, she straightened up to support him.

Zephyr didn't refuse because, after all this fuss, he did feel a bit dizzy.

Lying on the bed, he glanced at Jane. "You have to work tomorrow; you should go back. I'll be fine on my own."

"Alright, stop nagging. You took care of me in the fishing village; now I'm just returning the favor," Jane said.

Zephyr felt that ever since they met, it seemed like Jane had always been saving him, and she had long repaid any favors.

He looked at her deeply and sincerely thanked her. "Thank you."

Jane glanced at him and teased, "You're welcome. We must be fated; you always run into me, your savior, when you're in trouble."

Zephyr was at a loss for words. It seemed true.

It seemed like every time he was in danger, she would appear.

Looking at Jane's face, which had a touch of heroism amidst its softness, Zephyr refused to back down and retorted, "It just shows that we're not compatible. Every time I meet you, I end up in trouble."

Jane raised an eyebrow. "True, but you still want me to be your girlfriend. Aren't you afraid I'll jinx you to death?"

Zephyr said, "I'm not afraid."

Jane smiled. "I am."

Zephyr was speechless. "You're a cop; you should be even less afraid."

Jane gave him a sidelong glance. "Enough talking. Go to sleep."

Zephyr smiled and didn't argue with her anymore, closing his eyes.

However, he always liked to be clean, and going to sleep without washing up made him feel uncomfortable.

Zephyr unconsciously scratched his eyebrow, feeling like little bugs were crawling on his face.

Seeing his small movements, Jane's eyes flickered, and without saying anything, she went to the bathroom.

Kenneth had been very thoughtful and had just sent over a full set of toiletries.

Jane filled a basin with hot water and then came out of the bathroom.

"Don't sleep yet; let me clean you up first."

She wrung out a towel and was about to wipe his face.

Zephyr had the same thought and was about to get up. "I can do it myself."

"Lie down and don't move."

Jane pressed him down and started wiping his face without further ado.

The warm towel on his face wiped away some of his fatigue.

Zephyr opened his eyes and looked at Jane's slightly heroic features under the light, feeling a strange warmth.

Maybe he had been walking alone in the desert for too long; he was tired and lonely.

And Jane's appearance was like an oasis in the desert, making his eyes light up, and he couldn't help but want to get closer.

Noticing his gaze, Jane glanced at him and found the tenderness in Zephyr's eyes.

Jane raised an eyebrow and teased, "Why are you looking at me like that? Don't tell me you've fallen for me?"

Zephyr's heart skipped a beat. "I wouldn't say I like you yet, but I don't hate you either. Jane, we could really try to develop this further."

Jane threw the towel into the hot water. "Zephyr, I don't mind pretending to be your girlfriend to fool people, but let me remind you: I used to be an undercover agent."

"Even though that gang was caught, these dark forces are like weeds; they might revive someday and target me as their enemy. And if they find out you're my boyfriend, they'll definitely come after you."

Jane's tone was calm, making people feel a sense of solemnity and seriousness.

Zephyr's expression also became more serious.

"Do I look like someone who's afraid of trouble? Don't worry; if I become your family in the future, I won't drag you down."

He spoke as if they were really dating.

Jane stared at his gentle and handsome face. "Zephyr, have you really fallen for me?"

"I already said I want to try with you, and I mean it," Zephyr said seriously.

Jane raised an eyebrow and looked at Zephyr.

From Zephyr's attitude towards Sandy, she could tell he was stubborn.

Therefore, she was being targeted by Zephyr.

Jane was a bit speechless; her gaze swept over his well-shaped lips, her eyes flickering.

"Do you really want to try with me?"

Zephyr nodded. "Yes."

Jane moved closer to him. "Then kiss me."

Zephyr was stunned, thinking,

'Kiss her!'

'Isn't this a bit too fast!'

After all, he just said he wanted to try; it wasn't time for intimate contact yet.'

Even though they kissed at the club last time, that was different.

At that time, she was forced by the situation and kissed him!

Looking into Jane's clear eyes, Zephyr swallowed, feeling hesitant.

Jane noticed his discomfort and moved closer, deliberately saying, "Didn't you say you wanted to try with me? Kissing is what couples should do the most. Or would you rather have me make the first move?"

As she spoke, her slender fingers pinched his chin, moving closer bit by bit.

Zephyr's Adam's apple bobbed, and he instinctively held his breath.

When Jane's lips were about to touch his, he quickly pushed her away.

"Uh, the IV is almost out!"

Jane paused, looking at Zephyr's red ears, then at the half-full IV bottle, and couldn't help but laugh.

It was said that men thought with their lower bodies, but this Zephyr was really pure.

For some men, even if they didn't like the other person, they wouldn't refuse a woman throwing herself at them.
