Chapter 1037 Not a Sign of Longevity
Nora looked at Rafael. "Rafael, you must've been around a lot of radiation recently."
Rafael's face changed slightly. His secret base did emit a lot of radiation, but he rarely went inside and always took precautions.
Rafael glanced at Tomas, who was sitting higher up, and tried to stay calm. "Everything in nature has some radiation. How did you figure I was exposed to a lot?"
'Is he denying it?' Nora smirked. She didn't need Rafael to admit it; she just needed Tomas to doubt him.
"Rafael, your immune and nervous systems are damaged. That's not a sign of good health."
'Not a sign of good health! Nora's cursing me!' Rafael stood up angrily. "Nonsense! I'm perfectly healthy. How dare you spread such lies?"
Nora stayed calm. "Rafael, relax. Don't you feel dizzy, nauseous, and weak?"
"I don't." But as soon as Rafael spoke, he felt dizzy and nauseous. He retched and fell to the side.
Yandel, nearby, wanted to help but moved aside when Rafael looked like he might vomit.
Rafael hit the ground, crying out in pain. Yandel quickly helped him up.
Aaron raised an eyebrow and helped Nora step back, keeping her away from Rafael since she was pregnant and couldn't be startled.
Nora looked at Rafael. "Still think you're in great health?"
Rafael tried to speak but felt like vomiting again. He clutched Yandel, looking for help. "Dr. Yanez."
Yandel's expression changed. He knew some medicine and had interacted with Rafael but hadn't noticed anything wrong before. Rafael's symptoms came on too suddenly. He suspected Nora had done something.
Yandel glared at Nora. "Dr. Smith, what did you do to Rafael?"
Nora smiled faintly. "You saw it all. I just diagnosed him."
"No, you did something during the diagnosis!" Yandel insisted.
Nora's smile faded. "Dr. Yandel, if you're not as skilled, don't blame others. King Tomas, you saw it. Do you think I did something?"
Tomas squinted at Rafael, his face growing colder. "How could that be? You're a miracle doctor and can see things others can't. Since Rafael is ill, please treat him."
Nora had mentioned Rafael's radiation exposure, and Tomas believed her.
Even though Tomas had caught the private builder of the exploded secret base, it seemed unrelated to Rafael. But Tomas knew Rafael had secretly set it up.
Now that Rafael showed symptoms of radiation exposure, it all made sense. So, Tomas believed Nora.
"No need to trouble Dr. Smith. I can treat Rafael," Yandel said through gritted teeth.
Rafael nodded vigorously. He didn't want Nora treating him. He suspected she had done something to him earlier when he felt muscle pain.
If he let her treat him now, Rafael was sure she'd make him worse, maybe even cripple him.
"Alright, I'll leave Rafael to you," Tomas agreed.
"King Tomas, I'll take Rafael back to his room for treatment," Yandel said coldly.
"Go ahead," Tomas waved his hand.
Before leaving, Yandel glanced at Nora, his eyes cold, thinking, 'Nora indeed has skills. I underestimated her.'
The two left, and the room quieted down.
Mateo watched with amusement. "Father, it seems Nora's medical skills are superior."
Tomas nodded, looking regretful. "Yes, it's a pity she has to return to Chrisland. I really want to keep her here."
Nora smiled. "King Tomas, I'll visit in the future. Take care of yourself."
"Alright, I look forward to the birth of your child."
"Remember to keep the sachet I gave you under your pillow. It's good for your health," Nora reminded him.
"Alright, I will," Tomas said.
"Then we won't stay any longer," Nora said.
"Won't you stay for a meal?"
"No, I have a patient, and we need to return to Chrisland."
Tomas was a bit reluctant. "You come and go in such a hurry. Next time, stay longer."
Nora smiled slightly. The next time they met, it would probably be when Tomas was critically ill.
"Mateo, escort Nora and Aaron out," Tomas instructed.
Mateo responded and escorted them out.
On the way, Mateo couldn't wait to ask, "Nora, what did you do? How did Rafael suddenly look so sick?"
Nora said, "Guess."
Mateo said, "It must have been a hidden weapon, right?"
Nora smiled, "Yes, besides a hidden weapon, I have no other way to deal with him."
Mateo said, "Nora, thank you for venting my anger. Seeing him suffer, I feel so relieved."
Nora's face turned colder. "I did it not just for you, but also for Johnnie and Gabriella."
When she came, she had thought about venting their anger first. Otherwise, Rafael would think they were too easygoing.
"Nora, don't worry. Once Rafael's demeanor is exposed, I will definitely give you an explanation."
Nora nodded and glanced at Aaron. Seeing his stern face, her eyes sparkled. "Aaron, why aren't you talking? Are you angry?"
Aaron said expressionlessly, "How dare I be angry with you?"
Mateo looked at him. "Aaron, what's the matter? Let me guess, you're jealous because Nora touched Rafael just now?"
