Chapter 119 Are You Jealous?

Frederick returned with the Band-Aids.

Aaron took them and told Nora, "Show me the wound on your foot."

"I can do it myself."

Without further discussion, Nora snatched the Band-Aids from his hand, adhered them to her heel, and then slipped Aaron's shoes back on his feet.

Her expression was indifferent as she finished the task and moved to the car door, silently gazing out of the window.

Aaron squinted, sensing a shift in her mood.

Why was she suddenly so cool towards herself, he wondered.

The drive home passed in silence.

Noe was waiting for them as they arrived.

"Mr. Gordon, Nora, you're back."

"A fine pair, like a husband and wife returning home," Noe mused to himself.

"Noe, you've been a great help these past couple of days. Are the kids are upstairs?" Nora asked.

"Yes, they are," Noe replied promptly.

"I'm going to change. You can look after Mr. Gordon. I'll come down later to treat him."

Nora smiled at Noe and then went upstairs, not exchanging a word with Aaron.

Aaron watched her ascent. His gaze fixed at her as he remained silent.

"Mr. Gordon, shall I help you get cleaned up?" offered Noe.

"No need; I can manage on my own. You should head home," Aaron responded.

Noe caught on immediately.

"Alright then, I'll be off."

Looks like Mr. Gordon doesn't want a third wheel around!

---

Upstairs.

Nora washed off her makeup, slipped into her comfy loungewear, and headed straight to the kids' room to check on her three little ones.

As she pushed the door open, she found that none of them were asleep yet.

"Hey, my loves. I’m home!" Nora said with a smile as she stepped inside.

It had been just two days and two nights, but she had already missed them like crazy.

"Mommy!"

All three kids were grinning from ear to ear, scampering down from their beds to greet her.

Nora showered each of them with kisses and cuddled them for a bit.

After some time, she gently prodded, "Alright, it's getting late. Time for bed."

The two boys obediently climbed back into their beds, ready for sleep.

But Samantha clung to Nora, cooing, "No, I want to hug you a little longer, Mommy."

Daughters always seem to be the clingiest.

Nora's heart melted a bit more, and she held her for another moment. "Alright, sweetie. I have to go downstairs and give Mr. Gordon his acupuncture treatment."

Blinking her big eyes, Samantha said in a cutesy voice, "Okay, I won't be a third wheel. I want you and Mr. Gordon to have alone time so you can like each other even more!"

Nora was speechless. "Like each other more? Don't be silly."

"Mommy, didn't you and Mr. Gordon admit you like each other?" Samantha tilted her head curiously.

Nora's eyes widened. "When did we ever say that?"

"Remember the night you got drunk? Don't you remember?" Samantha inquired.

Nora felt like facepalming. "Samantha, I was drunk. You can't take the drunk talk seriously."

"But Mommy, don't you like Mr. Gordon?"

"Not in the way you're thinking."

"But—"

"Off to bed now."

Nora didn't want to discuss her feelings about Aaron further with her daughter, so she placed Samantha back in bed.

"Everyone close your eyes; I'm turning off the light."

"Good night, mommy."

The boys obediently closed their eyes.

With a click, Nora turned off the light and left the kids' room.

In the darkness, the supposedly sleeping children reopened their eyes.

"Doesn’t Mommy really like Mr. Gordon?" Samantha sounded dejected.

Alex coolly remarked, "He's not up to par."

The man had two whole days with Mommy, and he still hadn't won her over.

"What do we do? I really like Mr. Gordon," Samantha pouted, visibly upset.

Billy, with his voice of reason, comforted Samantha, "Samantha, let's just tell Mr. Gordon to keep at it. Persistently, he's bound to win Mommy over."

Samantha's spirit brightened, and she clenched her little fists. "I'm going to cheer on Mr. Gordon tomorrow!"

Downstairs.

Nora pushed open the door only to find the room deserted.

Could Aaron still be in the bathroom?

"Thomas, have you done yet?"

In the bathroom, upon hearing Nora's call, Aaron, still sitting in the tub, thought, 'Finally, she's here.'

He slowly rose to his feet, deliberately making a bit of noise.

Nora heard him and approached the door, knocking. "Thomas, are you alright in there?"

"I'm fine," came the man's voice from within, tinged with a sound of suppressed pain.

'Did he fall? Where's Noe? Did he leave?' Nora wondered, her brows knitted in concern.

Without further hesitation, she pushed open the door and entered.

The bathroom was filled with billowing steam, ghostly white against the air.

Aaron, wrapped only in a white towel, leaned against the wall.

Under the light, the glistening droplets of water on his skin slowly made their way to the edge of the towel.

Despite having seen his bare body countless times, Nora couldn't help swallowing hard.

There was no denying that Aaron had an impressive physique.

With a flicker in her eyes, Nora pushed aside her wandering thoughts and picked up a sleep shirt to dress him.

"Why are you alone? Where's Noe?"

Aaron didn't miss the discomfort on her face. With a slight curve of his lips, he opened his arms, signaling her to help him dress.

"I sent him home."

She must be seduced by his physique!

He wanted Nora to become obsessed with him, both body and soul.

After helping him into his sleep shirt, Nora prepared to assist him into his wheelchair, but Aaron said, "No need for that, just help me to the bed."

He wanted to walk a little longer with her in his arms.

Nora, realizing he was indeed capable of walking, offered no objection.

Aaron moved slowly, his gaze resting on the profile of her face, admiring her long eyelashes.

Once seated on the bed, he leaned back against the headboard, watching Nora prepare the acupuncture supplies. His lips moved slightly.

"Are you unhappy?"

Nora paused in her task but didn't look up. "No, not at all."

"Do you think you're hiding your feelings well?" Aaron's eyes held steady, fixated on her as she finished inserting the needles. "Did Sunny say something to you?"

It wouldn't surprise him if Nora had encountered Sunny.

The truth about Sunny was something Nora would find out sooner or later.

He had no intention of keeping her in the dark.

Nora glanced at him, countering with a question of her own. "What do you think she might have told me?"

Aaron remained silent for a moment before admitting, "Did she tell you she's with me?"

A tightness inexplicably clenched Nora's chest, and she parried, "Is she?"

"Yes," Aaron replied candidly.

Nora's hands tensed ever so slightly as she packed away the acupuncture kit.
"Nora, there was just a big misunderstanding between us four years ago."

He wanted to make it clear to her—he didn't have feelings for Sunny.

He wanted to tell Nora that he liked her, and he wanted to marry her!

"Mr. Gordon, there's no need to tell me about your personal life; I'm not interested. I'm going to grab a drink of water, and then I'll be back."

Nora cut him off and stood up to leave.

Aaron watched her slender figure retreat, his eyes narrowing slightly.

"Nora, are you jealous?"

Was her sudden change in attitude after the party because she was jealous?
