Chapter 934 Won't Let Nora Suffer
Jeffery recognized her voice and was a bit surprised. 'Caden actually recorded the songs she usually sang?'
When the recording ended, Caden turned to Samantha. "That's your grandma singing. Isn't it beautiful?"
Samantha nodded. "Yes."
"See, I wasn't lying. You should let your grandma teach you sometime," Caden said with a smile.
Jeffery finally looked at him, her tone cool. ""You must be bored."
Caden looked back, a bit resentful. "You know I love music. You sing well but won't sing for me, so I had to record it to enjoy when I have free time."
Since the last birthday party, Jeffery seemed different. She didn't argue or make a fuss, just arranged flowers, cooked, baked cookies, and occasionally sang, making him see her in a new light.
It reminded Caden of a time when Jeffery was young, educated, and reasonable. He couldn't pinpoint when the change happened, when Jeffery had become… less appealing. But now, she seemed beautiful again.
Jeffery used to cling to him and argue, but now she didn't bother him much. Instead, he had to find ways to talk to her, and she always responded indifferently. Her change made him itch with desire, like he wanted to conquer her again.
Hearing Caden's somewhat ingratiating tone, Jeffery sneered inwardly. She thought, 'Nora was right. Caden really is both cheap and stupid. He used to ignore me, but now that I foucus on myself, he's started to show me attention.'
Thinking of Nora, Jeffery looked at Aaron, somewhat displeased. "Aaron, ask Nora where she is now. How could you let her pick up your client? You wore her out!"
Aaron raised an eyebrow, a smile forming at the corner of his lips. Jeffery finally changed her attitude towards Nora. Now she treated Nora like her own daughter. Yes, Nora was outstanding; anyone would be moved by her.
Aaron took out his phone to call Nora, but a servant reported that Nora's car had arrived. Aaron put away his phone and went out to greet her. Jeffery quickly followed, and Caden followed too.
Nora's car stopped in the yard. Frederick got out and opened the door for her. Nora and Gabriella got out. Aaron quickly walked over and took Nora's hand. "Tired?"
Nora laughed. "I didn't do anything, how could I be tired?"
Aaron raised an eyebrow and looked at Jeffery. "Mom, you heard her, Nora said she's not tired."
Jeffery rolled her eyes at him and pulled Nora to her side. "Why did you have to weat yourself out for such a trivial thing? You could have just instructed someone to go."
Nora smiled and greeted them. Jeffery looked her over. "Let me see, why do you seem to have lost weight again? Are you uncomfortable lately, or are you dieting?" She was all affectionate, completely different from her previous attitude.
Nora smiled and replied, "No, I'm fine. Thanks for your concern, Mom."
Jeffery chatted a bit more before turning to Gabriella, who had come with Nora. Seeing Gabriella, Jeffery's smile froze.
"Dad, Mom, this is Gabriella, Aaron's client, here for a visit," Nora introduced.
"Mr. Gordon, Mrs. Gordon, nice to meet you. Sorry for the intrusion and for not bringing any gifts," Gabriella said with a smile.
"It's fine, let's go inside first," Caden said.
"Let's go," Nora motioned for Gabriella to follow her inside.
Jeffery pulled Aaron back and whispered, "Aaron, who is this woman?"
"Just a regular client," Aaron replied.
Jeffery was suspicious. "A regular client? She looks a lot like Suzy Hamilton."
Aaron laughed. "Mom, what are you implying?"
Jeffery warned, "You and Suzy are over. Now that you're married, be faithful. Don't be like your dad, messing around."
Jeffery's warning seemed ironic, considering she used to want him to marry Suzy instead of Nora.
Aaron smiled. "Don't worry, I'm not that kind of person."
Jeffery snorted, "Who knows? Men won't cherish what they have until it's gone."
This was a jab at Caden.
Aaron patted her shoulder. "Mom, don't worry. I'm one of the good ones. I won't let Nora suffer."
"You better be."
After warning Aaron, Jeffery ignored him and went inside. She quickly joined Nora, showing her concern again.
Watching them, Aaron smiled. He never thought his family would be so harmonious. He didn't expect Jeffery to warn him because of Nora. Looking at Nora, Aaron felt truly lucky.
"Nora, are these two kids yours? They're so cute," Gabriella said, looking at Billy and Samantha.
"Billy, Samantha, say hello to Gabriella," Nora said.
"Hello, Gabriella," they greeted politely.
Billy looked at Gabriella a bit more, frowning slightly. She seemed fake to him. It was the first time Aaron's female client had visited, indicating a close relationship. Billy trusted Aaron but wanted to remind Nora to be cautious of Gabriella.
"Everyone's here, let's eat," Jacob said, and they all sat down.
During the meal, Jeffery kept serving Nora food and showing concern. Gabriella noticed and her eyes shifted.
"Nora, you and Mrs. Gordon have such a good relationship. Mrs. Gordon is so kind. You're really lucky to marry into such a family," Gabriella said, trying to praise the Gordon family.
But Jeffery didn't appreciate it. "Ms. Costa, you're mistaken. The lucky ones are Aaron and the Gordon family. If Aaron hadn't married Nora, I might never have experienced such a harmonious family atmosphere in my life."
