Chapter 242 I Will Get It Back

Comforted by Aaron's reasoning, Nora's wavering heart found some peace. "Let's have Noe continue the investigation then."

Aaron smiled wryly, "Noe, did you hear that? Send the report directly to Nora when you're done."

Noe hurriedly replied, "Yes, right away."

Nora gave a grateful smile, "Thank you, Noe."

Aaron raised an eyebrow playfully, "You're thanking him?"

Nora blinked her innocent eyes, "Isn't he the one doing the work? Shouldn't I thank him?"

Aaron replied with a silent chuckle, keeping a watchful yet subtly icy gaze on Noe.

Noe, situated in the driver's seat, didn't need to look back to feel the chill wind directed his way. He understood that his boss was feeling jealous, so he quickly said, "Nora, if you want to thank someone, thank Mr. Gordon instead. I just follow his orders."

Aaron was satisfied, withdrawing his chill gaze and looking toward the woman in his arms.

Nora was amused inside. Feeling Aaron's gaze, she teasingly said, "One shouldn't say thanks for great favors."

Aaron nodded and leaned close to her ear, "After your aunt Flo leaves, I'll make sure to get my thanks properly."

Nora was speechless. Just then, Aaron's phone rang.

Nora nudged him, "Answer it."

Sitting up slightly, Aaron pulled out his phone and glanced at it. It was Frederick calling.

"Speak,” he said to Frederick.

"Mr. Gordon, I've already taken Quinn home," Frederick reported.

Aaron hummed in response, "What about Baldwin?"

"He went to Quinn's place too."

Aaron was stunned. Did Quinn, have Baldwin taken to her home?

"Together? Did Quinn request this?"

"Yes. Quinn said Baldwin was injured, and if he went home like that, his family would be worried. So, she suggested taking care of him for the night and letting him return tomorrow."

Aaron was speechless. He felt that having Baldwin stay over at her place might make his family worry more. He ended the call as the car entered Star River Bay.

Nora overheard, and her eyes sparkled, "Thomas, according to Frederick, Baldwin is staying over at Quinn's tonight?"

Aaron casually hummed in affirmation.

Nora was both surprised and excited, "Thomas, do you think something might happen between them tonight?"

Aaron stroked her hair, "In such a situation if something does happen, do you think that would be a good thing?"

Nora tidied her messed hair and said, "If something does happen, then Baldwin will have to take responsibility for Quinn, right? Then they could be together."

Aaron raised an eyebrow, "Makes sense. So, Nora, why don't you let me take responsibility?"

Nora was speechless. Aaron's mind was making connections too quickly for her liking. She wasn't looking to get involved.

The car slowly halted by the roadside, and Nora coughed lightly, quickly pulling the car door open, "We're here."

‘So much for that topic.’ Aaron's dark eyes intensified, "Nora, can you not run away from this?"

Elsewhere, Quinn stared at Baldwin sleeping on the bed, she gave his face a gentle pat. "Baldwin, wake up. Can you take a shower before going to sleep?"

Baldwin's brow furrowed in his sleep, but he didn't wake up. He just turned his head and continued to drift off.

Quinn couldn't help but want to laugh as she checked out his features, her beautiful eyes moving appreciatively over his face. The man had good-looking features, and his temperament seemed decent, too. She just wondered about his family background.

If he came from a distinguished family, that would be perfect. She needed a man who could provide shelter from the storm when she was tired, someone to stand by her side. This man seemed like a good candidate for her backup team.

While musing in her thoughts, Quinn went to fetch some warm water. His body had some injuries, but his face was unscathed. When he had been beaten up, he had protected his face the entire time. Maybe it was because he valued his appearance highly for his career as an actor. She couldn't decide if he was vain or just dedicated.

With a slight smirk, Quinn began to help Baldwin out of his clothes. She undid his shirt buttons one by one, revealing his well-defined chest muscles. She stared, surprised. Baldwin, who seemed slender with clothes on, was quite toned in built.

Internally applauding his physique, Quinn then proceeded to remove the rest of his clothes until only his underwear remained.

She couldn't help but swallow as she took in the sight of him from top to bottom. The bruises on his skin did nothing to diminish the perfection of his sculpted body. If anything, they added a touch of wildness.

Quinn shook her head to refocus and stood up to grab the first aid kit, planning to clean his wounds before applying medication.

Caring for a man's body was new to her. With a wrung-out hot towel in hand, she gently wiped Baldwin from head to toe. The sleeping man's brow furrowed once more, but he still didn't wake.

After cleaning every area that needed attention, Quinn glanced at the last piece of clothing. Should she continue, or should she stop?

After a moment of silence, she decisively removed his underwear. With the sight before her, Quinn's heart raced. She felt a little wicked as if she were to violate him in some way.

She hurriedly wiped him down, trying not to look, but then she inadvertently caught sight of something that made her blush fiercely. As she quickly averted her gaze, she noticed Baldwin slowly opening his eyes.

Quinn's heart skipped a beat, feeling like a child caught doing something forbidden, inexplicably guilty. However, her extensive experience in navigating the business world helped her quickly regain composure.

With a sweet smile, she said, "You're awake."

Before she could finish her sentence, Baldwin's hand darted out and yanked her arm, tumbling her onto him. Quinn let out a cry of surprise, and before she could react, she was beneath him.

His body was scorchingly hot against her skin, heating her to the core. Waiting for the dizziness to pass, Quinn finally looked up at Baldwin.

Baldwin woke up to the confusion of a hangover and a throbbing headache that made him painfully aware of every movement. He squinted his eyes and reached for his phone, but halfway through, he sensed something was off. That's when he realized that there was someone lying beside him.

As the sleepiness faded, he focused his gaze and saw Quinn sleeping peacefully in his embrace. Baldwin's pupils dilated in shock, and he sat up quickly, staring at Quinn in disbelief.
