Chapter 546 I Will Stay
"Mr. Jones, Mr. Gordon has arrived," the man in black announced, leading Aaron into the room.
Matthew nodded slightly, signaling the man to leave.
Aaron entered, glanced at Matthew, and then walked toward Alex.
Aaron called out, "Alex."
Alex replied, "Uncle Aaron."
Alex looked at him, not very enthusiastic.
Aaron strode over to him, squatted down, and examined him.
Aaron asked, "Did he do anything to you?"
"No," Alex replied and shook his head.
He had already learned of Matthew's plan and was still in shock.
"Mr. Gordon, do I really seem that despicable?" Matthew asked and chuckled, signaling a servant to bring coffee.
Aaron stood up and glared at him coldly.
Aaron replied sarcastically, "Isn't taking hostages despicable enough?"
Matthew smiled, and replied, "Everyone has different perspectives. Mr. Gordon, please have a seat."
Aaron declined, "No need."
Aaron grabbed Alex's hand and said coldly, "I came here to tell you one thing. Nora will not marry you, and Alex will not be your live-in son-in-law. Whatever Nora owes you, I will repay on her behalf. Whatever you want, as long as I can do it, I will agree."
Matthew said nothing and just watched as Aaron led Alex towards the door.
Before Aaron could leave the hall, the two men in black at the door blocked his way.
"Move!" Aaron said coldly.
The men remained silent, standing still.
Aaron was furious. "I'll say it again. Move! Don't force me to get physical!" he warned.
The bodyguards were unfazed by Aaron's threat and remained unmoved.
Erin got off her chair, ran to Alex, and clutched his hand tightly.
She was very nervous.
Alex glanced at her, his expression conflicted.
Alex said, "Uncle Aaron..."
He didn't want to see Aaron and Matthew arguing over him.
"Don't worry, I'll take you back safely no matter what," Aaron said gently.
Alex opened his mouth but said nothing.
Matthew laughed, and remarked, "Mr. Gordon, there's no need to rush. Violence won't solve the problem, right?"
Aaron turned to him coldly. "Matthew, what do you want?" he asked.
Matthew replied, "I already told you. Either Dr. Hamilton agrees to marry me, or Alex becomes the Jones family's live-in son-in-law."
Aaron said coldly, "I already told you, I can agree to anything else but those two conditions."
Matthew laughed, and retorted, "Mr. Gordon, on what basis do you represent Dr. Hamilton? You're not her husband yet, are you?"
Aaron replied, "She's my girlfriend, my chosen wife. Of course, I can represent her!"
Matthew glanced at Alex. "So, you can represent Alex too?" he asked.
"Of course! My girlfriend's family is my family. Her son is like my son," Aaron said.
Matthew laughed, and said, "Mr. Gordon, I actually admire you. You're a passionate person, just like me."
Aaron sneered, "Matthew, don't flatter me. I'm not like you. I don't force others."
Matthew raised an eyebrow with curiosity. "Really? I don't believe that. A strong person who wants to stand at the top of the food chain must be assertive," he remarked.
Aaron glared with eyes narrowed, and said, "Matthew, don't twist the facts. We're not talking about the same thing."
Matthew questioned, "How are we not?"
Matthew continued, "Mr. Gordon, let me give you an example. If you want to develop your career, you have to defeat countless enemies. Whether others are willing or not, you will implement your plan, right? How is that different from what I'm doing now?
"I want to protect my home, so I need to find a suitable heir. Now I've found one. Whether the other party is willing or not, I just want to fulfill my wish."
Hearing this, Aaron's breath grew heavier.
Aaron said, angrily, "Nonsense! Matthew, you don't need to say anymore. In short, I can't agree to your conditions."
With that, he tried to take Alex away again.
The two bodyguards outside blocked him once more.
"Move!"
Aaron shouted angrily, ready to kick the bodyguard.

He let go of Alex and swiftly punched, engaging in a fight with the two bodyguards.
Alex was no longer calm.
Watching Aaron fight, he clenched his fists, anxious.
The Jones Manor's bodyguards were not ordinary. Even though Aaron was stronger than most, he couldn't beat them.
Seeing Aaron getting hit twice, Alex quickly shouted, "Stop! Stop fighting. I'll stay!"
Hearing this, Matthew raised an eyebrow in surprise and gestured for the bodyguards to stop.
The two bodyguards immediately ceased fighting and quickly stepped aside.
Aaron's chest heaved as he tried to calm his breathing, looking at Alex.
Aaron asked in disbelief, "Alex, what did you just say?"
Alex repeated, "I said I will stay."
Aaron frowned and knelt in front of Alex.
Aaron tried to reassure him, "Alex, don't worry. I said I would take you away, and I will. It's not just me; your grandpa and many others will come for you if they know you're being held here."
Aaron's words were also meant as a warning to Matthew.
He was letting Matthew know that Aaron's influence was significant, and the Jones family was not in a favorable position.
They'd better not resist!
Matthew understood Aaron's meaning.
He said nothing, just watched Alex, waiting for his decision.
Alex said, "Uncle Aaron, I'm staying voluntarily."
Aaron asked, "Why?"
"Because..."
Alex glanced at Erin, who was still holding his hand tightly, and said, "Because Erin is pitiful. I want to stay with her."
On the plane, Matthew had already talked to him privately.
He explained how Nora owed him a favor and Erin's background.
Erin's mother had passed away, and Matthew was dying too. Erin would be an orphan.
She also had autism and was very pitiful!
Most importantly, Matthew had explained some principles and the mission of the Jones family.
The Jones family had always supported this country through their industry.
Matthew hoped that after his death, someone would take over and continue the Jones family's mission.

If Nora was unwilling to marry him, he decided Alex would repay the favor.
