Chapter 681 Domestic Violence

Lori was taken aback. "Aria Diaz, which Aria Diaz?"

The man's eyes were full of malice. "Which Aria Diaz? The one you convinced to get plastic surgery!"

Hearing this, Lori frowned. "What happened to her? Wasn't her surgery very successful?"

The man's chest heaved with emotion. "Yes, the surgery was very successful. It is so successful that she doesn't even come home now and wants to divorce me!"

Lori was stunned and quickly understood that he must be Aria's husband, Ernest Bell.

She was a bit speechless. "What does that have to do with me? Are you blaming me for making Aria Diaz beautiful, which led to your marriage falling apart?"

"Yes, who else should I blame?"

Ernest said, "We were living a good life as a couple, but because of your sweet talk, my wife came to get plastic surgery. After the surgery, she felt I wasn't good enough for her and wanted a divorce. Tell me, shouldn't I blame you?"

Hearing this, Lori felt very helpless.

"Sir, can you stop being unreasonable? Our hospital chose Aria from many girls with unbalanced features to give her free plastic surgery to quickly build our reputation, and it was with her consent."

"I'm just a plastic surgeon, and my job is to do my work well. As for your personal matters, that's none of my business."

She paused, looked Ernest up and down, and added, "Also, your wife always had bruises on her body, which should be your doing. She wants to divorce you not because I made her beautiful but because you abused her!"

Hearing this, Ernest's eyes flashed as if a sore spot had been hit.

Then he angrily said, "You're talking nonsense, still trying to shirk responsibility. The whole thing is your fault. You ruined my marriage. Give me back my wife!"

Ernest was agitated, and the gleaming knife in his hand waved wildly in front of Nora.

Nora roughly understood the situation.

Aria had plastic surgery here and became beautiful, so she wanted to divorce Ernest.

Ernest blamed everything on the plastic surgeon, Lori.

Nora didn't know how to judge this matter, but it was definitely wrong for Ernest to attack people with a knife.

Nora stared at the gleaming knife in front of her and tried to persuade. "Sir, calm down and put the knife down. Killing someone is illegal, and you don't want to go to jail for hurting someone, right?"

Ernest glared at her. "My wife ran away. How can I swallow this anger? Even if I have to go to jail, I will settle the score with this heartless doctor. Get out of my way, or I'll cut you all too!"

Ernest's eyelids drooped, and his small eyes were full of obsession.

At this moment, the hospital's security personnel arrived and surrounded Ernest and Nora.

Seeing this, Ernest became even more agitated.

"Get out of my way, all of you! If you don't move, I'll kill you all!"

He waved the knife wildly, making the security personnel afraid to approach.

Nora stood protectively in front of Sandy, looking anxious.

Ernest seemed to have gone mad!

He needed to calm down!

When would the police arrive?

At this moment, Sandy, who was being protected by Nora, spoke up.

"Sir, please don't get agitated. I'm Adam from this hospital. Can we sit down and talk?"

Hearing this, Ernest's bloodshot eyes suddenly glared at her.

"You're from the hospital. Very well, you scoundrel, tell me, why did you use my wife as a test subject? Give me back my wife. If you don't find my wife today, I'll kill you all!"

Ernest's eyes were full of malice, and he turned his attention to Sandy.

Zephyr furrowed his brow and, together with Nora, blocked Ernest's view.

"Nora, Dr. Wright, step aside."

Sandy walked out from behind them.

She felt warm inside from their protective gestures.

But this hospital was a Hamilton family property.

As the young mistress of the Hamilton family, she couldn't stand by at this moment.

"Sandy," Nora said nervously.

"It's okay."

Sandy patted her hand, smiled at her, and then looked at Ernest.

"Sir, don't get agitated. Give me your wife's phone number, and I'll call her right now to persuade her to come back and live with you."

Of course, Sandy didn't really intend to persuade Aria for Ernest.

She had the same idea as Nora: to buy time until the police arrived.

"Can you really persuade my wife to come back?"

Ernest's eyes lit up.

"Give me her number," Sandy said, holding her phone.

Ernest recited a string of numbers.

Sandy noted it down and then dialed.

"Put it on speaker!" Ernest demanded.

Sandy didn't object and turned on the speaker.

Soon, the call connected.

Aria's voice came through the phone.

"Who is this?"

"Hello, is this Ms. Aria Diaz?"

"Yes, it is."

"This is Doctor Hernandez from Radiant Beauty Clinic. I'd like to follow up with you."

Hearing it was from Radiant Beauty Clinic, the woman responded quickly.

"Hello, Doctor Hernandez."

"Ms. Aria Diaz, are you satisfied with our clinic's plastic surgery services?" Sandy asked.

"Very satisfied, extremely satisfied!" Aria laughed.

"Do you have any adverse reactions at the moment?" Sandy continued.

"The recovery is going well, no adverse reactions."

Sandy paused, then changed the subject.

"Have you run away from home?"

Hearing this, Aria was clearly taken aback, and her tone became tense.

"How do you know? Did my husband come looking for you?"

Sandy glanced at Ernest, who was listening intently and said, "Yes, he said we ruined him. He claims you ran away and want a divorce because you became beautiful after the surgery."

Aria's breathing became noticeably heavier.

Then she shouted, "He's lying! I want a divorce not because I became beautiful but because he abuses me!"

So, it was because of domestic violence.

Sandy glanced at Ernest but said nothing, continuing to listen.

Aria continued, "I've been married to him for five years. I thought he was an honest and simple man, but he turns violent when he drinks. He almost caused me to lose our baby when I was pregnant."

"I've always wanted a divorce, but every time he sobers up, he begs for forgiveness, promising me it won't happen again."

"I gave him chances for the sake of our child, but he changes every time he drinks. I can't take it anymore, so I asked for a divorce."

"But when begging didn't work, he resorted to threats, using my parents to coerce me. He said if I dared to divorce him, he'd kill my whole family!"

"I was terrified he'd actually do it, so I endured a life worse than death. Until now, I can't take it anymore!"

"Because I became beautiful, he watches me like a hawk. Everytime I talk to another man, I get beaten when I get home. I've had enough!"

"I want to escape to start a new life. I don't want to live with this abusive man anymore!"
