Chapter 368 Feeding Her Soup

"It's a long story, in a nutshell, Sandy is my twin sister who passed away in a car accident. My father asked me to marry into the Hamilton family as a replacement," Sandy paused, "and before that, I have been living in a remote countryside because I brought bad luck and caused harm to those around me. The outside world doesn't know of my existence."

Upon hearing this, Nora was greatly shocked. "Bringing bad luck? What kind of superstition is this in today's society?"

Sandy lowered her gaze slightly, hiding the pain in her eyes. "Perhaps it's not superstition. If it weren't for me, my sister wouldn't have died in the car accident. It was my fault," she explained, blaming herself.

Reminiscing the scene where her sister protected her, she felt both distressed and resentful towards herself.

Why did she sneak out to play with her sister? If she hadn't been so stubborn and angry at the time, believing that she was being treated unfairly by being labeled a jinx, and just stayed at home quietly, would her sister still be alive? She brooded in regret.

"Sandy, don't say that. I believe it was all just a coincidence," Nora reassured, furrowing her brows.

Sandy smiled faintly but didn't respond, clearly not accepting her words of comfort.

After a moment of silence, Nora spoke again, "So, Kenneth wants to divorce you because he found out about this strange belief?"

Sandy sighed, and said, "I bring bad luck, and staying by his side will only harm him. It's right for him to divorce me."

'Also, he doesn't lack women by his side, does he?' Sandy told herself. Thinking about the secretary she just saw, Sandy's chest felt a little tight.

Nora looked at her desolate eyes, her eyebrows furrowed.

How did it come to this? She truly liked Sandy and her brother. She didn't want to see the two of them divorce for some silly reason.

"Sandy, don't dwell on it. You exude perfection and prosperity, with a smooth forehead and balanced cheekbones. You possess the aura of a blessed person; how could you be unlucky? This is simply absurd! I will talk to my brother about it later. If he even considers using this as an excuse for divorce, I will be the first one to oppose it."

Looking at Nora's serious expression, Sandy felt moved. "Nora, thank you, but don't need to talk to him; it's useless," she said, hopelessly.

Sandy pondered, 'He didn't lack women by his side. Since he had brought it up, he was probably waiting to get a divorce from her and marry someone new.'

Nora looked at her and thought of something, probing, "Sandy, do you also want to divorce my brother because you still have feelings for Zephyr? Do you want to be with him after the divorce?"

Sandy's fingers curled slightly into a fist, and she opened her mouth to speak.

At this moment, Kenneth walked in. Sandy abruptly changed the subject and said, "You go eat first."

Nora had no appetite feeling slightly depressed. She looked at Kenneth walking to the sofa and sitting down while Sandy brought him a set of forks and a bowl.

'Was it possible that these two people, one with an old love and the other with a new love, were no longer together?' Nora brooded.

Sandy wasn't in the mood to eat, barely taking a few bites before stopping.

Kenneth noticed, took her soup bowl, and poured her another serving. "Have another bowl," he urged.

Sandy looked at him, thinking of the female secretary just now, feeling both suffocated and aggravated. "I don't want to," she refused, she got up and headed towards the bed.
Kenneth's eyes narrowed as he thought, 'Did she dare to throw a tantrum?' He remained silent for a moment, then got up and walked to the bedside with the soup bowl in his hand.

"Finish it," he imposed. His attitude was forceful, and his tone was not gentle at all.

Sandy thought of how he had just smiled so warmly at the female secretary, and a hint of anger flashed in her eyes.

"Don't you understand? I said I don't want to drink anymore!" she exclaimed, defiantly.

Kenneth looked at her watery eyes, a trace of interest flashing in his eyes. "Are you scolding me?" he questioned.

"Yes! I am scolding you. Do you want to abuse me?" Sandy retorted.

Kenneth looked at her annoyed expression and smirked. "Are you jealous?" he teased.

She was jealous! Sandy's heart skipped a beat, she gazed hesitantly, quickly denying it. "That's ridiculous. Why would I be jealous?" she denied.

She didn't feel jealous at all, trying to convince herself. She just thought that since the two of them were getting divorced, why should she let him order her around?

Yes, that's what she meant!

Kenneth stared at her intently without saying a word.

Sandy's scalp tingled under his gaze, and she just wanted to cower under the covers. But she couldn't afford to lose her momentum, so she straightened her back and pretended to be calm.

Kenneth observed her micro-expressions, after a while, he finally stood up straight and blew on the chicken soup, cooling it.

"Would you like to drink it yourself, or shall I feed you?" he proposed.

He still insisted on feeding her soup! Why was he so domineering?

Sandy glared at him, "You… um..."

Before she could finish her sentence, Kenneth had already held the back of her head with one hand and served her a mouthful of soup.

Sandy was speechless.

On the sofa, Nora's eyes widened as she watched this scene, quickly turning her head away. Oh my, was she allowed to watch them like this? Well, it's good, she's not a minor! Nora blushed, and her eyes glinted with amusement.

These two don't look like a couple whose relationship is falling apart.

On the hospital bed, Sandy looked bewildered. Looking at his deep eyes and brows, she swallowed the soup in her mouth, expressionless.

Kenneth's lips curled up into a smirk, his voice low and mellow, "Shall I continue?" he asked. He took another sip of soup, preparing to continue feeding her.

Sandy quickly dodged and blushed, stating, "I'll drink it myself."

Kenneth swallowed the soup in his mouth, smiled, and handed her the bowl.

Sandy took the bowl and subconsciously glanced in Nora's direction noticing Nora covering her mouth and giggling. She felt embarrassed, wishing she could hide in a hole!

What was Kenneth doing just now? Weren't they supposed to get divorced after the child was born? But now they were displaying acts of affection in front of Nora?

'This must be all for show. Are you pretending for Nora's benefit? Yes, Kenneth must be just putting on a show. Why bother?' With these thoughts, Sandy's fluctuating heart gradually calmed down.

Kenneth didn't know what she was thinking. Seeing her obediently drink the soup, satisfied, he went back to the sofa to continue his meal.

When his eyes met Nora's bright gaze, he didn't feel uncomfortable.

He offered, "Do these dishes suit your taste? If you don't like them, I can ask the secretary... I can have someone bring more food over." He refrained from mentioning the secretary again, in case his sister misunderstood him.

"No need, I've eaten enough." Nora looked at him as she asked in a low voice, "Kenneth, you actually like Sandy, right? Just now, you told me that the secretary I saw was just a misunderstanding, so you were intentionally pretending for Sandy's sake? You wanted to make her jealous, right?"

Kenneth didn't speak; he just picked up a piece of food and put it in Nora's bowl. After a while, he said, "Don't speak nonsense; give me some face."

Nora raised her eyebrows and asked, "So you didn't cheat on Sandy?"

Kenneth glanced at her and asked, "Do I look like a womanizer?"

"No," Kenneth explained.

Nora laughed and shook her head, feeling relieved. As long as her brother didn't cheat, that was good.

But…

As her gaze shifted to Sandy, who was drinking her soup, wondered what Sandy's feelings towards her brother were.

Did she still have feelings for Zephyr?
