Chapter 877 Staying Any Longer Would Cause Me a Heart Attack
Aaron furrowed his brow and stayed quiet.
Nora, a bit anxious, urged, "Aaron, why are you just standing there? Hurry up and head back."
Aaron replied, "You're coming back with me."
Nora shook her head. "Stop joking. I have important business to handle here. I can't leave yet."
Even though Seraphina had solid medical knowledge, Nora's skills were tough to master. Seraphina couldn't possibly learn them all in just two weeks.
Nora knew Aaron was hesitating because he didn't want to leave her alone.
But now wasn't the time for romance or jealousy.
Aaron needed to get back to handle business.
Mateo, on the other hand, loved to stir the pot.
"Mr. Gordon, leaving for urgent company matters? Seems like men always choose their careers over women, right?"
He was implying Aaron prioritized his career over his relationship.
Nora glanced at Mateo, thinking, 'He's handsome, but something about him makes me want to punch him.'
She really wanted to give Mateo a shot to shut him up.
"Mateo, no comment," Aaron replied coldly, then turned to Nora. "Honey, I'll listen to you and head back."
Nora sighed in relief and nodded. "I'll help you pack."
"Okay."
After Nora left, Aaron looked at Frederick. "Remember what I said, got it?"
Aaron meant Frederick should always be on guard against Mateo and keep him away from Nora.
Frederick nodded quickly. "Yes."
"Noe, whenever you have time, tell Prince Mateo about the love story between me and Nora, so he won't feel lonely," Aaron added.
Noe also nodded. "Yes."
Mateo laughed. "Don't worry, Mr. Gordon. Once you leave, my world will come alive. I won't feel lonely."
Aaron shot him a cold glance. "Prince Mateo, remember who you are. You can joke around, but don't go too far. If you harm my wife, you'll pay dearly."
Aaron's stern face exuded authority.
Mateo's smile faded slightly. He looked at Aaron for a couple of seconds, then smiled again.
"I'll remember your advice, Mr. Gordon. But let me remind you, control yourself."
Mateo glanced subtly at Gabriella.
Aaron smirked coldly. "Don't worry, I can only get hard for my wife."
Mateo was at a loss for words. "Mr. Gordon, you're so vulgar."
Aaron replied, "I told you, my wife likes me just the way I am."
Mateo was speechless.
As they talked, Gabriella watched Aaron's handsome features, her smile growing deeper.
Soon, Nora had packed Aaron's things.
"Aaron, let's go. I'll take you to the airport."
"Okay."
Aaron said goodbye to everyone, gave a few more instructions to Noe and Seraphina, and then got in the car with Nora to head to the airport.
Gabriella watched the car drive away, then turned to meet Mateo's deep gaze.
"Ms. Costa, aren't you leaving with Mr. Gordon?" Mateo asked with a sly smile.
Gabriella shrugged. "I will, because I have a collaboration with Mr. Gordon, but not right now."
Mateo raised an eyebrow, thinking, 'Without Nora by Aaron's side, could Aaron resist temptation?'
Nora took Aaron to the airport.
While waiting to board, he hugged Nora and kissed her passionately in the lobby.
Nora blushed as the boarding announcement for Aaron's flight echoed through the terminal.
She quickly pushed Aaron away. "Alright, it's not like we won't see each other again. Don't make it look like a dramatic farewell and let others laugh at us."
Aaron didn't care about others' opinions. His eyes were intense. "Honey, I really want to take you with me."
Nora smiled and nudged him. "Go on, hurry up."
Aaron hugged her and kissed her again before reluctantly heading to security.
Seeing Aaron's reluctance, Nora's nose tingled. Seriously, Aaron was too clingy, making her emotional.
Only when she could no longer see Aaron did Nora take a deep breath and head back with Frederick.
At that moment, Gabriella was waiting for her.
"Dr. Smith, I'm leaving too."
Nora asked, "Where are you going?"
"Back to the base. There's a project waiting for me."
Nora felt a wave of relief. "Safe travels."
"Dr. Smith, thank you for your hospitality."
After thanking Aisha and the others, Gabriella left in the car they had called.
Nora watched Gabriella leave.
Mateo tried to approach her but was stopped by Frederick.
"Prince Mateo, please keep your distance from Mrs. Gordon."
Mateo was speechless. "Isn't that a bit much?"
Frederick remained silent, continuing to guard with a blank expression.
Noe approached Mateo. "Prince Mateo, I haven't finished telling you about Mr. Gordon and Mrs. Gordon's love story. Come on, I'll continue."
Mateo was even more speechless. "Don't drag me. I don't want to hear it."
Noe added, "No, you'll want to hear it because it will help you find a girlfriend in the future."
Mateo shouted, "I'm a prince. I'm not that horny!"
Noe said, "Really? I thought you was someone with no limits. Whenever you see a beautiful woman, you get restless regardless of whether she's married or not."
Mateo was speechless.
Nora listened for a moment and couldn't help but laugh. Frederick and Noe were really good subordinates, very dedicated.
With Aaron gone, Nora focused on treating Hugo and teaching Seraphina. As for Mateo's injury, it was basically fine and didn't need her help anymore. She left the minor tasks like changing bandages to Seraphina.
Mateo protested, trying different ways to get Nora to change his bandages. Of course, with Noe and Frederick around, Mateo's protests were useless.
Three days later, Mateo, looking aggrieved, said he was leaving. Hugo and Aisha politely asked him to stay longer.
Mateo glanced at Nora. "No, if I stay any longer, I might have a heart attack."
Nora couldn't help but laugh. Of course, she understood that Mateo leaving now was definitely not because he feared a heart attack. Mateo had endured humiliation and played the fool for so many years; he was not a simple person. He wouldn't put romance first. The reason he deicided to leave now was probably because he believed it was time to return to the royal family.
"Nora, I'm leaving. Aren't you going to say something to me?" Mateo looked at her deeply.
Nora said casually, "Take care."
Her eyes were clear and bright, as pure as a spring.
Mateo's heart inexplicably tightened, but his face still wore his usual playful smile.
"Nora, we'll meet again."
Nora certainly didn't want to see Mateo again. She didn't want to get involved in royal disputes.
