Chapter 644 It's Not You Who Get the Short End of the Stick
Nora remembered that it was Seraphina who asked her to find Deborah, so she nodded.
She said, "Although the two sisters look alike, Seraphina is indeed kinder than Elara, and she looks gentle."
Aaron thought about the care Seraphina had shown him during this time and nodded in agreement. "Yes."
He rarely praised a woman.
Nora blinked her beautiful eyes and looked Aaron up and down, asking, "Aaron, are you sure you haven't been possessed by Jackson?"
Aaron was taken aback and said, "Why do you say that?"
Nora said, "Because suddenly I feel you are very similar to him."
Aaron was taken aback again, asking, "How am I similar to Jackson?"
Nora withdrew her gaze; of course, she wouldn't say; she couldn't stand him praising other women.
"It's nothing, just a feeling." She adjusted her hair and then removed the silver needle from Aaron's acupoint.
Aaron looked at Nora's beautiful face, still thinking about her words.
What did they just say that made her think he was like Jackson?
Aaron's eyes flickered, and suddenly he realized. He just agreed with her that Seraphina was gentle, and Nora was jealous!!
Aaron figured it out; a hint of a smile unconsciously appeared in his eyes.
He hugged Nora and let her sit on his lap.
"Nora, do you know I almost got violated when I was trapped here?" Nora turned her head, looking at Aaron's handsome eyes, and pursed her lips. "In their eyes, you are like Apollo. It is only natural for them to set eyes on you."
Aaron chuckled, "Nora, I'll take that as a disguised compliment on my handsomeness."
This was a well-known fact; there was no need for her to compliment it.
Nora blinked and asked, "Then why didn't she sleep with you?"
Aaron said, "You arrived just in time and saved me from Elara's clutches."
Nora tilted her head and asked playfully, "Do you feel regretful that I arrived in time and stopped her?"
Nora's words were quite sarcastic.
Aaron raised his hand and affectionately flicked her nose.
"Nora, do you know what I told Seraphina?"
"What did you say?"
"I said, if I ever did something to hurt you, I would commit suicide."
Suicide! Aaron's brown eyes were deep, filled with affection.
Nora's heart stirred slightly.
She played with Aaron's distinct knuckles and murmured, "Don't be rediculous. Anyway, it's not you who lgets the short end of the stick."
Compared to life and loyalty to their marriage, life was more important!
"Who says so, even though I'm a man, if it's not consensual sex, it's rape!" Aaron retorted seriously.
Nora was inexplicably amused by him. She said, "Aaron, people say this place is a paradise for men; why does it sound like hell in your mouth?"
Aaron moved his body and hugged Nora's soft body tightly. He replied, "That's because those men haven't met a girlfriend like you. If they did, they wouldn't want to take advantage of any other woman."
Nora had nothing to say.
Aaron's sweet talk was as smooth as ever.
Nora said, "Don't flatter me."
She seemed to be scolding Aaron, but her lips couldn't help but curve up.
"Clearly, it's the plain truth." Aaron smiled with his eyes and kissed her hair.
Nora didn't want to be too affectionate here.
She said, "Let's go. Any other discomforts?"
Aaron looked at her and nodded. "Yes."
Nora was taken aback, nervous, and ready to check Aaron's pulse, asking, "Where?"
Aaron's sexy lips curved into a low laugh. He whispered in Nora's ear, "Nora, I'm uncomfortable down there; I miss you too much."
Aaron was teasing her! Making her really think he was uncomfortable somewhere!
Nora blushed, pinching his arm. She said, "Can you be serious?"
Aaron looked innocent and said, "I want to be serious, but I can't when I'm with you. Nora, if we can't get out tonight, why not stay here in the future?"
Nora said, "You should make friends with the wild wolves and poisonous snakes here first."
Aaron couldn't argue.
Meanwhile, Seraphina led Noe along a shortcut, through a thicket, and into a secret passage.
It was called a secret passage, but it was actually an air-raid shelter.
The air inside was a bit damp and cold, and Seraphina and Noe could hear echoes when they spoke.
Noe didn't know how long they had been walking, only that his mouth was dry, his heels were sore, and finally, he followed Seraphina out of the air-raid shelter.
Smelling the scent of grass and trees outside, Noe couldn't help but put his hands on his knees and gasped for breath.
Seraphina glanced at him and asked gently, "You seemed exhausted"
Noe panted like a cow, looking at Seraphina's calm expression, full of admiration.
"Aren't you tired?" he asked.
They had walked from outside to the air-raid shelter and back out, seemingly for about two hours.
Seraphina was not even out of breath. She could walk like this! If Seraphina were to participate in a racewalking competition, she would definitely win the championship.
"I'm not tired," Seraphina said.
Noe took a deep breath to steady his heartbeat, stood up straight, wiped the sweat from his forehead, and said, "You're amazing; you can really walk."
Seraphina said, "I often go to the mountains with the girls from the village to pick herbs, so walking four or five hours round trip is normal."
So that was why she could walk for so long.
Noe was too tired to talk. He just gave Seraphina a thumbs-up as a compliment and then began to look around.
Coming out of the air-raid shelter, there was a large forest ahead.
As Seraphina said, there was a long river in front of the forest.
There was a bridge over the river.
The bridge was surrounded by white mist.
From a distance, it looked like entering a fairyland.
"If the mist is inhaled, will it create illusions?" Noe asked.
"Yes." Seraphina nodded.
Noe was puzzled and asked, "Aren't you supposed to go into the forest to pick herbs? How do you get there?"
Seraphina glanced at him and said, "You're so silly; I could go in from this side."
Noe was speechless.
This was the second time he asked a stupid question.
He was the Gordon Group's special assistant, excellent in all aspects, but he had failed twice in Seraphina's hands.
It was frustrating!
Noe felt a bit embarrassed and raised his wrist to check the time, saying, "It's only a little past ten, so are we just going to wait here?"
Seraphina said, "Or you go over the bridge to find them."
Noe was speechless.
If someone else said it to him, he would think the other person was mocking him.
But this Seraphina, with her clear and bright eyes like a lake, he could feel that she was genuinely seeking his opinion.
"If I go over the bridge, is there any way to avoid the illusions?" Noe asked.

Noe gave her a look and said, "Then why are you asking me to go over the bridge to find them?"
