Chapter 302 A Self-Extended Spokesperson Contract
With a gulp, Sunny hesitated before finally answering the incoming call.
"Hello?"
"Ms. Remington, I request your presence at the Gordon Family Group tomorrow. A luxury spokesperson contract awaits your signature," Noe's steady voice echoed from the other end.
The words hung in the air, causing Sunny to freeze, questioning her own hearing.
"Are you saying that the Gordon Family Group has a spokesperson contract for me?"
"That's correct," Noe confirmed.
A wave of emotions crashed over Sunny, her face illuminated with disbelief. "Is this a directive from Mr. Gordon?"
"Yes."
The confirmation was clear. It was indeed an order from Aaron. He had extended a spokesperson contract to her. But why? Was it a form of compensation, owing to their intimacy? Was he planning to boost her image again?
Sunny's mind whirled, nearly capsizing under the weight of the unexpected news.
"Ms. Remington, do you have any further inquiries?" Noe asked, breaking her train of thought.
Shaken back to reality, Sunny quickly replied, "No, that will be all."
"Very well. Please arrive at the office at 9 AM tomorrow to sign the contract."
"Okay, please extend my gratitude to Mr. Gordon," Sunny managed to say, her voice laced with excitement.
"Of course," Noe responded, ending the call without further ado.
Sunny stared at her phone screen, a silent cheer echoing in her mind. This was a pleasant surprise. She had assumed the recent rumors would have caused Aaron to despise her. His tone during their last call had suggested nothing less.
However, against all odds, the situation had reversed. Aaron had arranged an endorsement deal for her. Could it mean his relationship with Nora wasn't as solid as it appeared? Was he merely playing games with her?
The thought of what could have been had she ignored Suzy's warning and pursued Aaron further filled Sunny with regret. If she had taken that chance, she might be carrying his child now, and that would have given her a significant advantage.
Her regret deepened with each passing moment. If given another opportunity, she vowed to seize it. However, the thought of Aaron's adversaries kept her on edge. Would they continue to monitor her?
Meanwhile, Suzy wore a smug expression. Despite the viral search about Aaron being suppressed by the PR department of the Gordon Family Group, she was certain Nora was heartbroken.
What did it matter if Nora had found her relatives? They were mere pawns in her game. If Suzy couldn't have it, no one else would.
A knock on the door interrupted her thoughts.
"Miss Hamilton, dinner is ready," a servant's voice called Suzy to dinner.
She hummed in acknowledgment, adjusting her mood before descending the stairs.
In the living room downstairs, all members of the Hamilton family were present, except for Howard.
"Dad, Mom," Suzy greeted as she descended the stairs.
Then she turned to c, "What brings you home so early today?"
She had planned to contact Kenneth later to secure an endorsement deal for Sunny.
Handing his coat to Sandy, Kenneth replied, "I just wanted to come back early to spend time with Sandy."
Sandy, taking the coat, felt an unexpected warmth spread across her cheeks as she met his gaze. She hadn't anticipated such a statement from Kenneth. Could it be the afterglow of their intimate night?
"Wow, you're really throwing around that affection, totally caught us off guard," Suzy teased, not expecting such a declaration from Kenneth.
She looped her arm through Emma's, half-jokingly saying, “Aren’t you afraid of breaking Mom's heart?”
Upon hearing this, Sandy instinctively furrowed her brow, casting a sidelong glance at Emma.
Suzy's words, despite being cloaked in jest, had a distinct edge that made them uncomfortable to hear. Sandy, who had only recently become part of the family through marriage, was all too familiar with Suzy's knack for delivering double-edged remarks.
In this instance, wasn't Suzy insinuating that Kenneth was prioritizing his wife over his mother? As if to confirm Sandy's suspicion, Emma's complexion paled slightly.
"That's right. Kenneth, I've raised you, and you've never said such a heartfelt thing to me before," Emma voiced out, her tone laced with a hint of reproach.
Kenneth, however, responded with a laugh. “Mom, didn't I spend enough time with you?”
His question was met with silence as Emma merely glanced at him, choosing not to respond.
From a corner, Suzy chuckled, “Exactly, Mom. I was just kidding, saying how Kenneth and his wife are so in love. Did you really take it so seriously?”
Emma, naturally, wouldn't admit she felt slighted. “Not at all, I was just joking too,” she responded, attempting to keep the atmosphere light.
As the family engaged in laughter and conversation, Ebenezer rose from the couch, announcing, “Let's eat.” At his command, the group moved toward the dining room.
Once seated, Suzy turned her attention to Kenneth. “Kenneth, I want to discuss something with you.”
“What is it?” Kenneth asked, curiosity piqued.
“Pass the real estate project’s endorsement contract to Sunny,” Suzy stated directly, catching Kenneth off guard.
“Why are we suddenly giving the endorsement contract to another actress?” he asked, surprise evident in his eyes. The Hamilton family brands were typically represented by Suzy, and the new real estate project endorsement contract was no exception. Why was she suddenly considering passing it on to someone else, especially Sunny?
“Sunny was my junior in school. I, as her senior, plan to give her a little boost,” Suzy explained, taking a sip of the soup that the servant had poured for her, her smile unwavering.
Sandy, who was serving soup to Kenneth, glanced at Suzy with a slight frown. Wasn't Sunny the actress rumored to be involved with Aaron? Shouldn't she and Suzy be romantic rivals? Why had they suddenly become so chummy? Could it be because they both had a common rival in Nora? That didn't quite make sense.
"This Sunny, isn't she the actress who was involved in the scandal with Aaron?" Kenneth asked, seeking confirmation. She didn't usually follow celebrity news, but that morning, Sandy had mentioned it after seeing the story, which was the only reason she was aware of it.
"Yes," Suzy confirmed, setting down her soup bowl. "The news just gave her a buzz, so the company's decision to offer her an endorsement deal is also a way to drum up publicity for our own projects."
Hearing this, Sandy couldn't hold back. "I don't think that's wise. That Sunny is just a fledgling star with no significant fame. And the Hamilton Group is a well-established business. Doesn't Sunny's image clash with the company's corporate culture?"
Probably because of Nora, she wasn't fond of that Sunny. She always felt these young stars were ungracious.
"Sandy, you're a respected doctor, and corporate operations aren't your area of expertise, so please don't interject," Suzy retorted coolly.
Sandy's mouth opened but then closed without a word. Kenneth glanced at Sandy, a slight frown creasing her brow. "Who says Sandy doesn't understand corporate operations? She studied business management abroad and naturally has her own insights."
Hearing this, Sandy's fingers curled slightly, and she looked down without speaking. Emma, on the other side, saw Kenneth backing Sandy up and a flicker of displeasure crossed her face.
"Sandy, even though you've studied business management, you don't have any actual work experience. Moreover, as a woman, focusing on having children should be your priority. Leave the company matters to others."
