Chapter 694 Could You Stop Flirting?

Benjamin cursed and fired his gun while turning to run into the night.

"Stop! If you keep running, I'll shoot!" Jane shouted, hot on her heels.

Of course, Benjamin wasn't going to surrender easily. He dashed through a thicket and onto another road.

At that moment, a black sedan was approaching.

Benjamin suddenly darted out, startling the driver, who quickly slammed on the brakes.

But Benjamin appeared so suddenly that even though the driver braked in time, the car still hit him.

Benjamin tumbled several times before hitting the ground.

The tires screeched against the pavement as the car came to a halt.

Inside the car, Zephyr frowned deeply.

He had hit someone!

But this person was really reckless!

Zephyr didn't have time to think about anything else. He quickly opened the car door and got out to check on Benjamin's condition.

Benjamin lay motionless on the ground.

"Wake up."

Zephyr squatted down and reached out to turn Benjamin over to check his condition.

Just then, Jane's voice came from not far away.

"Don't touch him!"

Zephyr froze. Before he could react, Benjamin, who had been playing dead, suddenly opened his eyes.

He sprang up and grabbed Zephyr by the neck, taking him hostage.

Zephyr was stunned.

What the hell?

He just couldn't seem to cath a break.

He had been taken hostage twice in one day!

As Zephyr was mentally complaining, he saw Jane approaching with her gun raised.

Zephyr was speechless.

Jane, again!

Every time he ran into her, it was trouble!

He and Jane must be destined to clash!

Jane was also surprised to see Zephyr here, and even more so that he was once again a hostage.

Suppressing her surprise, she coldly said to Benjamin, "Let him go!"

"Get lost and let me go, or I'll shoot him!"

Benjamin pressed the gun to Zephyr's temple, looking fierce.

Zephyr tilted his head to the side, feeling Benjamin's heavy breathing and the slight tremor in his hand as he held him.

Zephyr was a doctor, and his professional sensitivity told him that Benjamin was likely seriously injured.

His eyes flickered, and he quickly said, "Hey man, don't get excited. I'm a doctor. Don't kill me. I can be useful."

He was holding a gun, not a knife.

Zephyr was afraid the criminal would get angry and really shoot him.

He needed to make the criminal see his value.

Benjamin's breathing paused for a moment. He glanced down at Zephyr, seemingly believing him.

Then Benjamin looked up at Jane.

"Did you hear that? Get lost and let me leave!"

Jane pressed her lips together, staring intently at Benjamin, and then said, "You're injured in the leg and arm. You can't escape!"

Zephyr looked at Jane, who glanced at him and then at Benjamin's right arm, his eyes flickering.

Jane's glance was a signal to Zephyr.

"Stop talking! If you don't move, I'll shoot him right now!"

Benjamin pressed the gun harder against Zephyr's head, speaking viciously.

Zephyr quickly said, "Police, can you stop talking and just move aside?"

Jane, holding her gun, slowly moved to the side.

Watching Benjamin drag Zephyr to the car door, Jane suddenly looked ahead and shouted, "Don't come closer! He has a hostage!"

Benjamin was highly tense.

Hearing this, he instinctively turned his head slightly.

Zephyr's eyes flickered, and he quickly slapped Benjamin's injured arm hard.
Benjamin screamed and instantly let go.

Zephyr seized the opportunity to run forward.

At the same time, Jane aimed at Benjamin's gun-wielding wrist. A gunshot rang out, and Benjamin's gun fell to the ground.

Benjamin cried out in pain. Jane quickly rushed over, subdued him, and handcuffed his hands together.

Not far away, Zephyr stopped and saw that Jane had subdued Benjamin. He let out a long sigh of relief.

Thankfully, he had narrowly escaped another dangerous situation.

Watching Jane lift Benjamin, he pressed his lips together.

Although they seemed to clash often, he had to admit that Jane had saved him once again.

"You're pretty smart!" Jane said with a smile, looking at Zephyr while holding Benjamin.

Zephyr understood what she meant.

When he was being held hostage by Benjamin, Jane had deliberately hinted that Benjamin's arm was injured.

And later, with the same diversion tactic, Zephyr naturally knew how to cooperate.

"I'm quick-witted. If it were someone else, they might not have caught your hint."

Upon hearing this, Jane arched an eyebrow. "You were certainly quick-witted this time."

Zephyr shot her a glance. "When have I ever not been?"

"You should think it yourself."

Zephyr paused, catching Jane's half-smiling eyes, realizing she was referring to the time in the fishing village when he mistook her for a gang leader.

Zephyr cleared his throat. "That wasn't my fault. You repaid kindness with a slap as soon as you woke up. So fierce, no normal person would do that."

Jane chuckled. "I repaid kindness with a slap? If you woke up to find someone molesting you, what would you do?"

Zephyr was speechless. "When did I ever molest you?"

Jane raised an eyebrow. "Forgotten already?"

Zephyr protested. "I was saving you!"

"So when you save someone, your hand stays on their chest to take advantage?"

Zephyr was at a loss for words. "You!"

"Can you two stop flirting? Can't you see someone is about to bleed to death?"

Suddenly, Benjamin, who was being held by Jane, spoke up.

At this point, he was feeling dizzy from blood loss.

And he was forced to listen to Jane and Zephyr's banter, which made him particularly irritable.

Jane glanced at Benjamin and kicked him.

"Flirting? With such poor judgment, no wonder you ended up on the wrong path!"

The kick landed right on Benjamin's injured leg.

He screamed in pain and glared at her with a resentful look.

"You were talking about groping and taking advantage. You even worked together to trick me. If that's not flirting, what is it? Do you think I'm stupid?"

Jane raised an eyebrow and slapped Benjamin on the forehead. "You're getting cheeky. If you weren't stupid, why would you choose the wrong path instead of the right one?"

Benjamin felt even dizzier.

With a dark face, he said, "Police, even criminals, have rights. Can you stop hitting me? I'm dizzy!"

Jane snorted and couldn't be bothered to respond.

Zephyr looked at Benjamin, thinking he deserved it.

He was clearly being accused, but Benjamin saw it as flirting between him and Jane.

At that moment, two police cars came roaring in and stopped in front of them.

Jane's colleagues got out of the cars.

"Jane, we received a report about a murder here."

Jane nodded. "This guy was carrying a gun illegally. Take him back to the station for questioning. Also, come with me to the warehouse over there."

She hadn't forgotten that there were still several suspects in the warehouse.

She wondered how Frederick was doing now.
