Chapter 813 He Was Hubert's Cousin
Alvin was helped up by his subordinates, glaring fiercely at Jane.
"You wretched woman, how dare you meddle in my business? Do you know who I am? It seems like you're the one who doesn't want to live a peaceful life!"
Jane glanced at Alvin, her tone icy. "Why don't you tell me who you are?"
She was quite curious to know who was backing Alvin.
Alvin didn't answer her directly but looked at Zephyr.
"Zephyr, tell me, is this wretched woman with you?"
Zephyr was still trying to figure out who Alvin was.
He had no impression of him at all.
But Alvin recognized him.
"Yes, so what?"
"Who is she to you?"
"My friend."
"Your friend?"
Alvin looked Jane up and down with disdain. "Could she be your girlfriend?"
Zephyr pressed his lips lightly, neither confirming nor denying.
Alvin sneered contemptuously. "She looks like a man. As a bastard, you can only find a woman like this."
Zephyr's face darkened. "Watch your mouth. Who exactly are you?"
Alvin kept calling him an illegitimate son of the Wright family. How did Alvin know he was from the Wright family?
"I'm Hubert's cousin."
Alvin finally revealed his identity with an arrogant look.
Zephyr's eyes flickered slightly. So this guy was Hubert's cousin.
The Wright family, although not a major family in Lindwood City, was not a minor one either.
Alvin was so arrogant and domineering because he had Hubert backing him up, which was why he dared to act so recklessly outside.
"Zephyr, your woman dared to mess with me. If you don't give me an explanation today, no one is leaving here!" Alvin said.
Thinking about the embarrassment he just suffered in front of his subordinates, Alvin kicked over a chair, his eyes filled with malice.
Several of his subordinates also looked arrogant.
"Yeah, wretched bitch, how dare you hit our boss? Kneel down and apologize!"
"Yeah, kneel down!"
A few of the subordinates rolled up their sleeves, ready to fight if they didn't comply.
Hearing the commotion, Arnold came out of the kitchen.
Seeing the tense situation, he was immediately shocked.
"What's going on? Everyone, calm down and talk it out!"
"Dad, they were bullying me, and Zephyr and his girlfriend stood up for me. Now they're causing trouble for us!"
Marlon ran to Arnold and quickly explained.
Arnold was shocked, glanced at the arrogant men, and immediately knew they were not good people.
Although he hated these thugs, as a businessman, he was quite smooth.
Arnold smiled apologetically at Alvin, "Sir, let's talk this out. We have cameras in the store. If things get out of hand, it won't be good."
Arnold was hinting that if things escalated, the police would be alerted.
And if the police arrived, those causing trouble would not benefit.
Alvin sneered coldly. "Threatening me now, are you? It seems like you're not interested in keeping this store open. It would be a shame if something were to happen to it... Go ahead, send the surveillance video to the police, and see who comes out worse!"
With that, he flipped the table.
With a loud crash, all the bottles and jars on the table fell to the ground, creating a mess.
The customers at the surrounding tables, who were watching the commotion, were so frightened that they quickly stood up and backed away.
Someone picked up their phone to call the police.
One of Alvin's subordinates scanned the room and pointed at the person. "Everyone out! If you dare to call the police, and we find out, we'll kill you!"
He looked vicious and arrogant.
The person who wanted to call the police immediately gave up.
After all, they were all ordinary people and didn't dare to offend someone like Alvin.
Jane's face remained calm and indifferent as she spoke, "No need to call the police because I am the police."
She pulled out her badge from her pocket.
Alvin glanced at her badge, his face changing slightly, momentarily speechless.
Alvin never expected Jane to be a police officer.

Jane took out her phone and called a colleague.

Alvin sneered. "Just a female cop, stop preaching. Even if I go to the police station with you today, do you believe I can come out unscathed soon? On the contrary, you will be the one getting fired!"
With that, he took out his phone and walked to the side to call Hubert.
"Jane, so you're a police officer. What now? They seem really tough to deal with."
Marlon tugged at Jane's sleeve, looking at her with admiration mixed with a bit of worry.
Jane smiled. "Don't worry, trust me, justice will prevail."
"Okay." Marlon nodded vigorously.
Jane glanced at Zephyr. "It seems the Wright family has a lot of issues?"
Zephyr frowned slightly. "Although my last name is Wright, I don't like getting involved in these issues."
In other words, he and Hubert were not on the same side.
Soon, police cars arrived with sirens blaring.
Jane briefly explained the situation to the two colleagues who got out.

Alvin was indeed Hubert's cousin.
The colleagues nodded and took the men away.

Arnold had the staff clean up the store and then smiled at Zephyr. "Dr. Wright, so your girlfriend is a police officer. Thank you both for your help today. I can't imagine what would have happened without your help."
Zephyr glanced at Jane, intending to explain their relationship.
But then he thought it didn't matter whether he explained it or not.
After all, he had just said he wanted to try dating her.
"It's my duty as a police officer to serve the people," Jane said.
Arnold said, "But I've heard that Alvin has strong backing."
Arnold instinctively glanced at Zephyr, hesitating to speak.
