Chapter 691 Drank Too Much Again
Evella: [Of course, come quickly. I'm waiting for you!]
Nora: [Send me the address. I'll be right there.]
Evella quickly sent an address.
Nora put away her phone and hailed a cab by the roadside, heading towards the destination.
She was going for the free meal, but also to see the drama scene!
She wondered if Howard's relationship with Evella would take another twist!
Soon, the car arrived at a high-level residential area.
Since Richard acknowledged Evella, he quickly settled in Lindwood City.
He bought a 2,000-square-foot apartment in this upscale neighborhood.
The security facilities in the community were also top-notch.
The car was stopped at the entrance.
Nora told the security personnel Richard's apartment number.
Since Evella had already informed the property management, the security personnel let her in.
The driver drove into the community and dropped Nora off at Richard's building.
At that moment, Evella was waiting for her.
"Nora, you're here."
"Yeah, I'm here for the good food." Nora joked as she got out of the car.
Evella linked arms with her and teased. "Are you really here just for the food?"
Nora raised an eyebrow. "Or am I here to help my brother?"
Evella looked speechless. "Nora, what are you talking about?"
Nora tilted her head and looked at her. "I was with Howard this afternoon during surgery. I was right next to him when he called you. I heard that the person who answered was your brother Joseph Martinez, and he said you were taking a bath. Evella, what were you doing? Why were you taking a bath so early?"
Hearing this, Evella quickly explained, "Nora, don't misunderstand. Joseph just arrived in Lindwood City and will be staying here for a while. I helped my father prepare a room for him. After tidying up, I was sweaty, so I took a shower."
So that was the reason.
Nora nodded and teased. "I didn't misunderstand, and I just said it was an ordinary bath."
Evella gave her a playful look. "Is there any other kind of bath?"
Nora tilted her head and smiled. "You and Howard are really in sync. He asked me in the same way!"
Evella pinched her lightly and said coyly, "Nora, don't make fun of me."
Nora smiled and asked, "Is your brother staying at Richard's place for a while?"
"Yes."
"And are you staying here too?"
Evella shook her head. "What are you thinking? Of course, I'm going back home."
Nora wasn't thinking much, just gathering some news for Howard.
If Evella were staying here, Nora thought it might be necessary for Howard to find an excuse to stay, too!
That way, he could closely guard against any external threats.
Nora and Evella chatted and laughed as they took the elevator to the 22nd floor.
This floor had two apartments per elevator, and once they reached the 22nd floor, Evella led Nora into room 2201.
"Nora, let me get you a pair of slippers."
Evella handed Nora a pair of disposable slippers.
Nora thanked her, changed her shoes, and looked around.
The apartment was well-decorated, and the entire space looked very bright and spacious.
All the furnishings were clearly high-end.
Nora followed Evella through the living room towards the dining room, where they saw Howard, Richard, and Joseph drinking and chatting.
Nora didn't know how much they had drunk, but their faces were all flushed at this point.
Especially Howard, his eyes were glazed over, sitting next to Richard, mumbling something unintelligible.
Seeing Howard in this state, Nora couldn't help but recall the time when Howard found out about Richard's true identity and got drunk with him at the hotel.
She still had a video on her phone of Howard calling Richard big brother, which made her want to laugh.
Howard had drunk too much again and would probably start calling Richard big brother again.
Just as she was thinking this, she heard Howard slur out a drunken sentence.
"Big brother, you can't play favorites. Even though we had misunderstandings before, I truly respect you. I genuinely want to marry Evella, so you can't hold a grudge, okay?"
Nora burst out laughing.
It seemed Howard had drunk too much again!
"Richard, I just left for a while. How is he drunk again? Did you make him drink?" Evella glanced at the table, noticing another empty bottle, and pouted in protest.
Richard looked up at her, then glared at Howard.
"See, because of you, my Evella is always blaming me. How am I supposed to like you?"
Hearing this, Howard quickly said, "Bro, don't be mad. Evella, I wanted to drink, don't worry about it. Don't let Richard misunderstand me again!"
Evella looked at his flushed face and felt a bit sorry for him.
"If you can't handle liquor, drink less. You're going to get drunk if you keep drinking."
"It's fine, I'm fine. Let's drink more!" Howard smiled and raised his glass to Richard.
Richard looked at Evella. "Can I drink this?"
Evella pouted. "I don't care about you guys anymore. Nora, have a seat. I'll get you some utensils."
Nora smiled and was about to respond when Richard said, "Nora's here. Have a seat."
Nora was speechless.
It seemed Richard had also drunk quite a bit!
"Alright, Richard."
Nora responded cheerfully, pulled out a chair, and sat down, glancing at Joseph on the side.
At that moment, Joseph was holding a wine glass, sipping lightly, behind his glasses, his gaze following Evella as she went to the kitchen.
Nora blinked. This Joseph liked Evella!
"Nora, do you want some too?" Howard waved his drink, slurring.
"No, I'll stay sober to take you home." Nora declined.
The main reason was that Nora was still waiting to see if Jackson would make a move tonight.
So, she had to stay sober.
"It's fine. If you get drunk, you can all stay here," Richard said.
Nora smiled. "No thanks, there aren't enough rooms here. Do you want one of us to sleep against the wall?"
This place had a three-bedroom, two-living room layout.
There definitely wasn't enough space for everyone.
"My bad, I should've bought a villa," Richard said.
Nora smiled and saw Evella coming out of the kitchen. She took the utensils from her and said, "Richard, I'm starving, so I will help myself and start eating!"
"Go ahead," Richard said.
Nora picked up a fork, speared a piece of meat, and tasted it, her eyes lighting up.
"Richard, did you make this? It tastes as good as the ribs you made last time!"
Hearing this, Richard laughed. "You are wrong. I didn't make today's dishes. They were made by Joseph."
