Chapter 121 We Have a Dad

The Gordon Group.

"Mr. Gordon, please take a look. These are all the latest dresses suitable for little girls."
Noe laid out more than a dozen little dresses on the couch.

Aaron wheeled himself over and flipped through them, nodding with satisfaction.

The girls' dresses looked quite pretty.

He figured Samantha would love them.

Upon glancing at his watch, Aaron declared, "Let's go. It’s time to pick up the kids from preschool."

Was Mr. Gordon himself going to pick up Nora's kids?

Reading the situation, Noe asked, "Mr. Gordon, should we inform Nora?"

"No need."

If she were also going to pick up the kids, they could just run into each other at the school.

Meanwhile at the preschool, Nora hurried to the teacher's office.

She could hear a woman's voice from inside the office from a distance.

"Sirena, I heard these three children have no father. Didn't our school have a policy against admitting kids from broken homes? Did their shameless mother sleep her way to the top to secure her kids' enrollment?"

Nora's pace halted, a chill passing through her eyes.

"Which parent lacks such decency, gossiping like this in front of children?" she thought to herself.

Inside the office, Alex's mouth was set in a thin line as he glared at the woman before him. He shoved her forcefully.

"Don't you dare slander my mommy!"

Caught off guard, the woman staggered backward, tumbling to the floor.

Before she could respond, Billy grabbed a cup of water from a desk and doused her with it. "Bad woman, you have no class!"

The woman was drenched head to toe, her makeup smeared and mascara running, utterly disheveled.

She froze for a split second before screeching, "You little brats, how dare you treat me like this? Sirena, I demand you expel them immediately!"

A nearby teacher hurried to help her up, passing Margot a couple of tissues and trying to soothe her with calm words.

Then the teacher scolded Alex and Billy, "What do you think you're doing? Apologize to her right now!"

"We did nothing wrong! She insulted our mommy. She deserves a lesson! If anyone should apologize, it should be her apologizing to us!"

Alex's demeanor was steely and cool, a spitting image of Aaron.

"How dare you say you're not at fault? I think you two little brats are asking for troubles!"

After wiping her face, Margot surged with anger, gearing up to strike Alex.

Just then, Nora burst through the door. "Don’t you dare touch my children!"

Upon hearing her voice, everyone turned to look in her direction.

The three children's faces lit up as they rushed to her side.

"Mommy!"

Nora pulled her kids close to her side, offering them a calming smile.

"It's alright, kiddos. I’m here."

Whoever dared mess with her kids was going to have to face her wrath!

"So you're the mother of these three brats? Just look at you, such a sly fox. No wonder your kids are ill-mannered!"

The woman's words were sharp and dripping with malice.

Nora looked at her and responded with an icy voice, "Ma'am, please watch your language. Someone as nasty as you must surely be lacking in love."

"You!"

Margot choked on her words, her face flushing with a mix of anger and frustration.

An onlooking teacher quickly intervened, "Enough, Nora. And let's not be too hard on Margot! Look, your kids ganged up on her daughter, and now Margot is upset. What do you suggest we do?"

Upon hearing this, Margot immediately retorted, "What else can we do? Sirena, my daughter, can't possibly go to school with these rough hoodlums. File a report and expel them!"

Nora bit her lip gently and ignored her, turning instead to her children.

"Tell me what happened, my darlings."

She knew her kids well.

They were innately kind-hearted. Without reason, they would not pick a fight, let alone with a girl.

"Mommy, I told you yesterday how I was chosen by the teacher to perform in the school play. Today, Sirena told me to give up that opportunity for Rosalind, and I was really upset. Then, during the break, Rosalind came to mock me, calling me a fatherless wild child, saying I didn't deserve to be on stage," Samantha explained, her voice filled with hurt as she recounted the events.

"I got mad and confronted her, demanding an apology. But instead of apologizing, she pushed me! When Billy saw her picking on me, he stepped in and called her out. She got vicious, but Billy's hand so hard! Alex saw it and pulled her away, but she lost her balance and fell, scraping her knee."

The story unfolded, revealing the sequence of events.

Nora's heart ached with both sympathy and guilt.

After all, it seemed the root of the problem was the ridicule they faced because of her.

"Mommy, actually, it's because Rosalind is jealous that the boys in our class like playing with Samantha, so she was looking for trouble," Billy added.

Now Nora understood the full picture.

She patted her children's heads and looked toward the other girl in the office.

The girl was pretty but carried an air of arrogance that only a spoilt child would have.

"Your name is Rosalind, right? Is what they're saying true?" Nora asked, fixing her gaze on the girl.

With a haughty snort, Rosalind lifted her chin, exuding disdain.

"They're nothing but wild kids, savage as untamed beasts! Why does everyone love to play with Samantha? They ought to go back to the forest where they belong!"

Upon hearing this, Samantha clenched her fists, her eyes brimming with barely contained tears.

"We're not wild kids; we have a dad! And our daddy is really something!" she retorted.

Nora was about to interject but stopped short, surprised by Samantha's claim.

"Oh, really? You're not a wild kid? Then where's your dad?" taunted Margot, looking at Nora with blatant disdain. "Nora, surely you're messing with someone's marriage—these kids must be the illegitimate children of some rich guy, huh?"

Nora gave her a cool glance, her expression frosty.

Before Nora could respond, Samantha blurted out, "That's not true! My daddy is handsome and rich, and he's never been married!"

Margot snorted in disbelief, clearly unconvinced.

"Is that so? Then call your dad out here for us to see!"

Samantha's fists tightened. "If I bring my daddy here, you have to apologize to us!"

Alex and Billy looked at their sister, worry creasing their brows.

Where would they get a dad from?

Is Samantha planning to find someone to pretend to be their dad?

"If you can't bring your father here, you three mongrels can just roll out of this school!" Margot sneered, sure that Samantha was only bluffing.

Just then, the office door swung open.

A deep, resonant voice filled the room.

"Let's see who dares to kick them out of the school!"
