Chapter 1000 Only Comfort
Ava let out a soft sigh, "William, chill. I won't meet up with him alone. He's got Madison now, so there's no way I'd be involved with him. You can head home without stressing."
William looked at her, "Ava, just promise me you won't trust Alexander anymore. I'm really scared he might hurt you."
Ava nodded. "I get it. I've seen it all clearly now. Don't worry about me. Just focus on your stuff."
William gave her one last hug before leaving.
The plane was about to take off soon.
William walked away with Sunny in his arms.
Ava watched them go, tears streaming down her face. She hated saying goodbye to Sunny; she really wanted to go back with them.
But she couldn't leave Bishop, who was injured, and she still had to finish her studies. So, she had to stay in Stellaria for a few more months.
Ava went back to the hospital, feeling lost.
When Bishop saw her, he smiled gently. "You're back."
Ava nodded. "Yeah, I just saw William and Sunny off."
Bishop asked, "You seem pretty torn about it. Why didn't you go with them? Is it because of me?"
Ava replied, "Not entirely. I still have to finish my studies. It's a rare chance, and I don't want to throw it away. Otherwise, I'd have to start all over again. I just have to push through. But it's really unfair to Sunny. I haven't been there for him much since he was born."
"Ava, don't beat yourself up. You're making the right choice. Even after having a kid, you can't just give up on yourself. Sunny's well taken care of by his dad, so there's nothing to worry about." Bishop tried to comfort her.
Bishop's words made Ava feel a bit better. "Thanks. I'm sorry again on behalf of William."
Bishop said, "It's all in the past. He just seemed a bit upset."
Ava explained, "Something happened back home, and he had to go back urgently to deal with it. He might not be in the best mood."
Bishop said, "Ava, I mean..."
He wanted to say that William's expression seemed off, but telling Ava didn't seem to make much sense. After all, Ava was William's wife. Even if she heard about a strange look, what could she do?
Bishop continued, "It seems like you and William have a good relationship."
Ava said, "William is a very good friend of mine. He's been really kind to me. When I was really down and in pain, he was always there for me."
Bishop pressed, "So, you fell for him and got married?"
Ava forced a smile. "I..."
Bishop asked, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing." Ava shook her head and said, "No matter what, we're married now, and we'll live our lives well. I don't want to think about the past anymore."
"I see." Bishop had just seen Ava hesitate and thought there might be some hidden issues in their marriage. After all, he had heard Ava speak to William on the phone very politely, not like a normal couple. But hearing Ava say this now, it seemed he might have been overthinking.
Ava said, "By the way, Bishop, before William came, did you have something to say to me? You can continue now. I'm listening."
He had been interrupted by William before he could finish his words.
Bishop forced a smile and replied, "It's nothing. I suddenly forgot what I wanted to say. I'll tell you when I remember."
Ava nodded. "Alright then."
