Chapter 618 Whose Last Name Should Be

After Ava returned to her room, she took out her phone. Earlier, in Elinor's room, she had received a text message from Brandon who had sent her information about a foreign medical institution by email.

Just as she was about to look at it, there was a knock on the door. "Ava, it's me. May I come in?"

Ava put her phone aside. "Sure, come in."

William walked in and asked, "Ava, what's wrong with you tonight? Are you feeling unwell? You seem to be talking less."

"I'm not unwell," Ava said, "I saw you chatting happily with Ms. Fairfax, so I didn't interrupt."

"Are you upset?" William suddenly looked a bit panicked. "If you're upset, I won't talk to her anymore."

Seeing William so flustered, Ava almost wanted to laugh. He looked quite cute like this. "William, I'm not upset. In fact, I'm very happy. I'm glad you get along with her. It makes me feel relieved. If you have time, you can meet and chat with her often. I don't mind at all."

Hearing Ava being so generous, William looked displeased. "Ava, I'm not happy. We're married, you're my wife. How can you let me meet and chat with another woman often? Aren't you jealous at all?"

Ava suddenly realized she might have been too generous.

She stood up and walked over to William. "William, it's a good thing you can get along with others. Follow your heart. I don't want to restrict your freedom. Besides, Elinor is nice. Talking to her might relax you and even help you regain your memory. Just think of it as doing it for me. I'm not that petty and I won't get jealous over nothing."

Alexander smiled helplessly. "My wife is really generous." Then he held her hand. "But don't worry, I won't do anything inappropriate."

Ava wanted to pull her hand away, but considering the current situation, she let him hold it. She nodded. "Okay, I trust you. It's late, you should rest early. I need to rest, too."

"Then you rest early." After saying this, William didn't leave immediately. Instead, he squatted down and gently placed his hand on her belly, caressing it softly. He said tenderly, "Baby, I'm going to rest now. Be good and stay well in your mommy's belly. Don't give her a hard time, or I'll spank your little bottom when you're born."

Ava lowered her head, her body somewhat stiff. Seeing William being so gentle, she was momentarily stunned. Her eyes suddenly became a bit blurry, and she wasn't sure if it was tears.

For a moment, she felt a bit dizzy, as if William really was the father of her baby, as if they could really be a complete family of three.

But this child wasn't William's. She couldn't let the child recognize William as the father. It wouldn't be fair to William or the child.

After talking to the baby for a while, William stood up and said, "Our baby is very good. Have you thought of a name?"

Ava shook her head. "Not yet. I don't know if it's a boy or a girl."

"Then we can come up with names for both a boy and a girl. By the way, whose last name will the baby take? Yours or mine?" William was curious.

Ava thought, 'The baby couldn't take Alexander's last name.' And then she said, "Let's talk about that later. I don't want to think about it right now."
