Chapter 711 Knock Down the Enemy

"Eason, what do you like to eat?" Ava asked.

Eason shrugged. "I can eat anything. Just make what you like. But since you have surgery tomorrow, you should eat something healthy."

Ava smiled at his thoughtfulness. "Thanks for caring."

William chuckled. "You two chat. I'll get dinner ready. Don't worry, I'll make sure you both eat well."

With that, William left the room.

At the door, he paused, trying to eavesdrop on Eason.

But all he heard was Eason and Ava chatting about random stuff.

'Eason, so young, yet so good at pretending.'

'Who are you trying to fool with that innocent act? Only Ava is naive enough to buy it.'

'Just wait. I'll expose you,' William thought resentfully.

"Eason, William's just worried about me. Please don't hold it against him," Ava said gently.

"It's fine. I'm not that petty. I won't be mad at him. He's your husband, after all. I'll cut him some slack for your sake."

Eason always spoke with a smile, showing no sign of anger.

Ava felt relieved. "That's good."

Eason added, "Ava, it looks like your husband is recovering well. You used to take care of him but now he can take care of you."

Ava nodded. "Yes, he's doing better. If only he could remember the past. The person who hurt him is still out there."

Ava's face clouded with worry.

Eason held her hand and gently patted it. "Don't worry, we'll find them. Justice will be served."

Eason remained calm and composed.

Ava nodded. "You're right."

Just then, two police officers walked in. "Ms. Anderson."

Ava asked, "Is there something you need?"

"We'd like to ask you some questions."

"I've already given a statement."

When Ava was first rescued, the police had come to see her, and she had told them everything.

The police said, "There are some additional questions we need to ask."

Ava nodded. "Okay."

"Ava, what's going on?" Eason asked, looking puzzled.

Ava said, "I was kidnapped a few days ago."

"What?" Eason's face changed drastically. "Kidnapped? Are you okay? Were you hurt?"

Eason was in a panic.

Ava shook her head, comforting him, "I'm fine. Don't worry. I'm okay now."

Eason immediately turned to the police. "Officers, have you found anything?"

"We're still investigating. We have some more questions for Ms. Anderson. Please step outside."

"Okay. I'll be right outside."

Eason then left the room.

At that moment, William walked over.

He glanced inside where the police were questioning Ava.

He didn't go in but said to Eason, "You look young."

"I'm eighteen, but I'll be nineteen next month," Eason responded.

"Really? You wrote such advanced papers at eighteen. That's impressive."

William had his hands in his pockets, looking at him with a hidden smirk.

"You're too kind. I just don't have many hobbies, so I spend all my time studying," Eason modestly replied.

Only knowledge could change the world and defeat enemies.

William asked, "Is that so? You're quite the scholar."
