Chapter 1069 He's Different

Bishop was driving Ava towards the hotel.

Sunny had fallen asleep in Ava's arms.

Throughout the journey, they didn't speak until they reached the hotel entrance.

"Bishop, thank you. Why are you here?"

"Just traveling, and I want to visit you."

His tone was casual and light, but Ava felt it wasn't that simple.

However, seeing him safe and sound made her very happy.

A sudden silence fell between them, and for a moment, they didn't know what to say.

After a long while, Ava spoke, "Have you had dinner?"

Bishop shook his head. "Not yet."

"How about you come upstairs, and I'll order some food? I haven't eaten either."

Before the food arrived, she found out Alexander had lied to her, and she lost her appetite.

But Bishop was different from Alexander.

"Do you mind?" Bishop asked.

Ava smiled. "I don't mind at all. You're not a bad person."

"Then I won't be polite."

After parking the car, they went back to the hotel together.

Ava was staying in a suite with a living room. After entering, she laid Sunny on the bed and covered him with a blanket, then picked up the phone to order food.

"Bishop, what would you like to eat?"

"I'm not picky. Everything is fine."

"Alright, I'll just order something random."

Bishop responded with a sound. Then Ava finished ordering and put down the phone.

They sat on the couch in the living room, and Ava got him a bottle of water from the fridge.

"Bishop, how have you been these past few months?"

"I've been good. How about you?"

Ava gave a bitter smile. "I just got back to the country. After returning, I wanted to divorce William, but he refused. He even shot himself in the chest and is now in the hospital."

Bishop frowned. "He actually did such a thing."

"I didn't expect him to do that either. Although I feel sad about his injury, I also find him terrifying. I don't know if it's just my imagination, but he seems so obsessive."

After thinking for a moment, Bishop said, "Maybe he loves you too much, so he became obsessive."

Although Bishop didn't like William much, he could see that William truly loved Ava, even to the point of losing his sanity. But sometimes, love could be hurtful, so it didn't necessarily mean a good thing.

"Maybe I was wrong. I should have stayed far away from him from the beginning." Ava sighed. "Now it's like this, and I don't know how to face him."

"Ava, do you trust me?" Bishop suddenly asked.

Ava turned to look at him. "Why do you ask?"

"I want to know."

Ava nodded. "I trust you."

Although she hadn't known Bishop for long, she inexplicably trusted him, feeling he was different from others.

"If that's the case, then I hope you also believe my words. Everything can be resolved, and you will have a peaceful life."

Ava smiled. "I'll take your word for it. But speaking of Alexander, he's ridiculous. He lied to me about having cancer just to have a few more meals with me and spend time alone with me."
