Chapter 722 The Final Deadline

"Alexander, I've hated you, been mad at you, and felt so let down by you. But now, I just want to see you. Nothing else matters. Please, let me see you. Feel your child."

Ava's words hung in the air, met with silence.

She started to get anxious and tried to stand up from her wheelchair.

Vicky quickly pressed her shoulder and whispered, "Stay seated. You can say everything you need to from there."

Ava had promised Vicky she'd listen, so she reluctantly stayed put.

"Alexander, please, even if you don't want to see me, at least say something. You're a father now. I get that you're probably furious finding out like this. I kept it from you for so long, and I know that was wrong."

"Alexander, please, just say something. Even if you hate me, the child is innocent. I should have told you earlier. I promise, once the baby is born, you'll be the first to hold him. You'll always be his father, and no one can change that."

"Even if we get divorced, we'll raise him together. He will never call anyone else 'Dad.'"

Seeing Ava cry so hard, Vicky quickly pulled out a tissue from her bag, wiped her tears, and reminded her, "You promised me you wouldn't get emotional. Take a deep breath."

She knew seeing Alexander would make Ava cry uncontrollably, and her emotions could affect the baby, especially with the surgery scheduled for tomorrow.

She had taken it upon herself to bring Ava to see Alexander, and if anything happened to the baby, it would be her responsibility.

Ava took the tissue and took a few deep breaths.

"Vicky, why isn't he responding to me?"

"Maybe he's still processing everything," Vicky said. "Why don't we go back for now? You've apologized, and you've told him you're pregnant. The rest is up to him."

Ava sighed heavily and finally said, "Alexander, since you don't want to see me, I won't force you. But the baby in my belly is yours. Even if you don't want to see me, you'll want to see your child. When I give birth, I hope you can hold him."

"Alexander, there's one more thing. Tomorrow, I have a cervical cerclage surgery. I don't know how it will go. The surgery is scheduled for 10 AM. I hope to hear your voice before then. You can call me, even if it's just to ask about the baby."

Ava gently placed her hand on the door. "Alexander, I'll be waiting for your call. You're the child's father. I never intended to keep this from you forever, but our misunderstandings were too deep, and things turned out this way. Now, I just want to reconcile with you."

"If you truly hate me, then after I give birth, you can make me suffer as much as you have, as long as you take good care of the child. I'll accept anything."

"Alexander, I'm leaving now. Rest well. If I don't hear from you by 10 AM tomorrow, I'll assume you'll never forgive me, and that you don't even want the child. After that, I won't bother you again," she said this deliberately to force Alexander to contact her.

If Alexander still didn't contact her under these circumstances, it would mean he not only hated her but also didn't want his own child.

"Goodbye, Alexander."

Ava painfully closed her eyes, withdrew her hand, and then turned her head, saying, "Vicky, let's go."

Vicky pushed Ava's wheelchair and left the hospital.
