Chapter 1076 Encountering Danger
"Now I understand," Mandy said with a faint smile. "No wonder you..."
At this point, she suddenly stopped.
Mia turned her head and asked, "What's wrong?"
Mandy said, "Nothing, just keep driving forward and then turn right."
Mia didn't ask further and kept driving, but she suddenly realized that the road was getting more and more desolate.
Bishop escorted Ava to the door of her room but didn't go in. Instead, he stood outside and said, "I'll leave you here. I'm heading out now."
Ava saw that Sunny in her arms was also sleepy, so she said, "Be careful on your way back."
Bishop responded with a nod. He asked, "Can I come to see you again tomorrow?"
"Of course. I was planning to look for a house tomorrow. Can you come with me?"
Bishop nodded. "No problem."
They agreed to meet again the next day. Bishop waited until Ava closed the door before he left.
He went to the parking lot, got in his car, and was about to drive away when a cold gun barrel suddenly pressed against the back of his head.
Bishop's brow furrowed as he saw a masked man in black with sharp, eagle-like eyes in the rearview mirror. "Who are you?"
"Drive!"
Bishop drove away as he instructed.
The man kept threatening him, making him change directions until the car was almost on the bridge over the sea.
Bishop knew that beyond this point, it would be deserted. He asked, "What do you want? Money or my life?"
"Vincent, why did you come to Berlyn? You should have stayed in Stellaria and not meddled in my plans."
Bishop's brow furrowed. "What are your plans? Do they have something to do with Ava? Who are you?"
"My plan is to make everyone suffer."
"Including Ava?" Bishop asked.
"No, I will make her happy. You disrupted my plan, wanting to replace me."
Bishop vaguely sensed that this person was a lunatic. "So you like her?"
The man laughed. "Bishop, what about you? Do you like her too?"
"Yes, I like her. If you think killing me will make her happy, then I can't help it. She seems to be truly happy when she's with me."
Bishop felt the gun barrel against the back of his head press harder. It was clear his words had provoked the man.
Suddenly, Bishop seized the moment and sharply turned the steering wheel.
The car's front end crashed into the bridge railing.
The gun barrel aimed at the back of his head shifted, and the bullet shot out, shattering the windshield.
Bishop opened the car door quickly and jumped out. The man also jumped out and fired several shots at him.
Bishop, agile and quick, dodged the bullets but still got injured.
Then, he swiftly climbed over the railing and jumped into the water with a splash, disappearing without a trace.
Eason leaned against the railing, gritted his teeth, cursed, and then rushed back into the car and drove away.
The next day.
Ava waited for Bishop at the hotel. Before leaving yesterday, Bishop had told her he would come to see her at nine. It was already the time, so he should be arriving soon.
But Bishop was still nowhere to be seen by half past nine.
She didn't have Bishop's phone number, since he had always been the one to contact her. When she asked for his number, Bishop had told her that he had temporarily stopped using his Stellaria number and hadn't gotten a new one in Berlyn yet.
