Chapter 554 Staying with Me for a While
Ava walked towards the door.
Alexander grabbed Ava's wrist.
Ava turned her head. "Let go. I need to handle the aftermath of this situation for you."
Since they were outside, none of them knew what it looked like on the inside now. In any case, this wedding had undoubtedly turned into a farce. The bride didn't seem like someone who could endure betrayal. Otherwise, she wouldn't have exploded on the spot. This marriage definitely couldn't go through, and that man was not worth marrying anyway.
Even if he no longer loved her and resorted to infidelity, it was still preferable to claiming the stress of wedding preparations as an excuse for engaging in intimate relations with other women.
It was just too absurd and too casual.
If he thought it was alright to sleep with another woman just because he was under pressure, who knew what he would do after they get married. So, it was better not to get married.
It was just that Alexander's actions were too aggressive. If it were her, she would have secretly told the bride in private, definitely not making a big scene like Alexander did.
If the groom had a strong psychological defense and didn't admit it, then Alexander would have looked like he was making trouble for no reason, bullying people with his status and power.
"Ava, don't handle the aftermath for me. The best outcome of this situation is for their relationship to break down because of it."
Alexander opened his eyes. "Can you stay with me for a while? I can't control myself."
"You must control yourself," Ava said sternly, "You are Alexander, the CEO of SK Group. So many employees rely on you, and the entire Mitchell family depends on you. You can't go on like this. What happened between us is just a small episode in your life. Your life is still long. You can't always..."
"Ava," Alexander suddenly interrupted her, frowning deeply, sweat beading on his forehead, "I can't control it. It hurts so much. I'm so sad."
Ava forcefully broke free from his hand. "Stop saying these things to me. It's too late to feel the pain now."
Ava was very angry. "There were so many opportunities for you to make amends, but you chose the least likely time to do so. I'm tired of saying these things. Let me take you back now."
Seeing Alexander's state, she worried he might go out and get drunk again.
Ava stepped forward to help him up from the chair.
Suddenly, Alexander grabbed her waist and pulled her into his arms.
Ava was forced to lie on his chest. She looked up angrily, and asked, "Alexander, what are you doing?"
It was only then that Ava noticed Alexander's pale expression. She raised her hand to touch his face and forehead, which were cold, and his palms were sweaty.
Ava felt uneasy. She struggled to sit up from his embrace. "What's wrong with you? Are you feeling unwell?"
"Ava, my stomach hurts. I can't control it. It hurts as much as my heart." Alexander moaned.
"Stomachache?" Ava suddenly felt worried. She knew Alexander had stomach issues, which she had learned about from Ethan.
She was about to scold him for drinking so much despite being aware of his own stomach problems. But as the words reached her lips, she realized, what's the point of saying them? These common-sense arguments were tiresome even to her. The situation had already happened, and blaming him wouldn't help.
"Let me take you to the hospital for a check-up," Ava said firmly.
"No," Alexander grabbed her slender arm. "Just stay with me for a while. Can I hold you? Just for a moment."
