Chapter 1030 Open and Aboveboard

When she got there, she saw Alexander coming out of the room.

Madison ducked out of sight.

She watched Alexander walk away.

Madison wanted to call out to him, but something stopped her. She decided to follow him instead.

She saw Alexander leave the hospital and grab some breakfast nearby.

Who was Alexander buying breakfast for? Was it for her?

Madison clung to a sliver of hope.

Last night, Alexander had been with Ava. Was he feeling guilty and buying breakfast for her this morning?

She saw him buy two breakfasts, each in its own box, and then head back.

Madison quickly hid again.

She tailed Alexander and watched as he took the breakfast into Ava's hospital room.

'Alexander, did you really have to stay for breakfast with Ava? You were with her all night last night.'

'Aren't I your girlfriend? What are you doing with Ava now?'

Madison bit her lip and pulled out her phone.

Ava saw Alexander come back and asked, "Didn't you already leave?"

"I went to get breakfast," Alexander said. "Let's eat."

Ava looked at the breakfast boxes, even more confused.

"You bought two portions?" Ava asked.

Alexander nodded, "Yeah, we'll eat together." Ava was baffled.

Did he even get what was going on between them?

"Do you want to eat in bed or..." Alexander started to ask.

Before he could finish, his phone rang.

He glanced at the caller ID and frowned a bit.

But he didn't answer right away. "Ava, I need to take this call. The breakfast is here, eat whatever you want." With that, he walked out and closed the door.

Madison asked, "Alexander, did you sleep well last night?"

"Pretty well, and you?" Alexander replied.

"I slept okay, but it felt weird not seeing you this morning," Madison said.

"After I finish breakfast, I'll come to the hospital to see you," Alexander said.

Madison stared at Alexander's back and asked, "Are you having breakfast at home or outside?"

"I'm having breakfast at home, just something simple," Alexander replied.

"Why don't you bring breakfast to the hospital so we can eat together?" Madison suggested.

On the other end of the phone, Alexander was silent for a moment, then said, "Madison, it's too far. The breakfast won't taste good by the time I get there. I'll buy you something nearby when I get there."

Madison covered her mouth, trying hard not to cry.

She took a deep breath and tried to keep her voice steady, "Alright, I'll wait for you in the hospital room. Take your time eating."

"Got it. It's still early, you should get some more sleep," Alexander replied.

"Okay." Madison hung up.

She watched as Alexander walked back into Ava's hospital room.

'Alexander, how could you lie to me so casually? It was clear you were tangled up with Ava again.'
