Chapter 506 Being Criticized Anyway

Alexander was always conflicted about the situation between her and William, which annoyed her a lot because they were already divorced, and whatever she did was her own business.

However, whenever it came to her and William, she had to endure Alexander's malicious judgment, as if what was happening between her and William was immoral.

William and her were single after she divorced Alexander. So, even if they got close, it was nothing. Even if they really had sex, who had the right to accuse them?

Why could Alexander's ambiguous relationship with Isabella be ignored within marriage? However, she would be criticized for getting close to William after the divorce.

So, was it that men could be forgiven for anything they did, but women were always blamed?

If she forgave the man who hurt her, she would be called stupid.

If she had an intimate relationship with another man, she would be called a bad woman.

No matter what she did, she would be criticized anyway!

No one could be objective and fair. Everyone was selfish and biased.

Alexander fell silent for a while and didn't know what to say.

Ava was mentally and physically exhausted. "I really don't want to argue with you. I'm really fed up. Please stop harassing me. I beg you!"

Now, Alexander only made her feel worse.

When she wanted him, he spent all his time with Isabella, no matter how she tried to keep him.

Now that she didn't want him, he desperately tried to get close to her.

Life was so ironic. She couldn't get what she wanted no matter how hard she tried, and things she didn't want kept coming her way.

She was really tired.

Alexander said he loved her, and she believed it. However, she believed more that Alexander's love for her was not as strong as his love for himself.

If he truly loved her, he should let her go, rather than insist on giving her unwanted things, imposing them on her, and then blaming her for not responding to it as he self-righteously expected it.

It was not love. It was possessiveness!

Alexander was at a loss. He wanted to hug her, but he knew his embrace was like thorns to her. It would hurt her deeply, so he dared not approach her. He took a few steps back and opened the door of the ward. "You go ahead, and I won't bother you anymore."

Ava wiped away her tears and rushed out of the room.

After calming herself down, Ava went to Eason's ward.

The doctor was doing rounds in Eason's room. The surgery was successful, and he was not in serious condition. He just needed to rest for a few days before being discharged.

After the doctor left, Ava sat on the chair next to Eason's bed. "Eason, how do you feel today? Are you still in pain?"

Eason shook his head. "Sister, I'm not in pain. Are you feeling unwell? You don't look quite right."

Ava smiled, "I'm fine."

"Sister, is it because of the pregnancy that you're so exhausted?"

Ava nodded. "Probably."

"You've been through a lot. I know pregnancy is not easy, especially with everything that has happened recently. You must have been under a lot of pressure, and it's really brave of you to persevere."

"Thank you, Eason."

The time she spent with Eason was brief, and their acquaintance short, yet this eighteen-year-old young man was remarkably empathetic.

"Sister, please promise me to undergo prenatal checks promptly. I understand your profound affection for the little one in your womb; hence, we must not be lax in this matter."

Ava nodded. "Okay, I'll go for a check-up soon. By the way, Eason, I'll contact your family for you. You're ill now, and you need their company. It's unbearable for you to go through this alone."

Ava knew this feeling. When one were in pain and had no one to confide in, it could be really despairing.

When she was in pain, William was there for her, and now she didn't want Eason to be all alone.

Eason hesitated. "Sister, it's not necessary. I can take care of myself. I'll be fine."

"Eason, it's okay. I know you can handle it but your family must be worried about you."

Eason sighed helplessly. "Sister, it's not what you think."
