Chapter 319 Taking it Seriously

Ava fell silent. She didn't know what to say. She found herself unable to argue.

"Do you still want to look?" Mia asked.

Ava nodded. "I want to look. Can I take these with me?"

"No need. Just read them here. Finish reading before you leave. It's too tiring to bring all these things back with you."

"But..." Ava flipped through the documents in the box. "There's too much. I probably won't finish reading in a day. Plus, I need to analyze and research. I feel..."

"It's fine, you can stay here. Everything you need is here. Oh, there's food in the fridge. You can cook for lunch or order takeout. I have something to do now, and when I come back, I'll buy you some clean underwear."

Since Mia said so, for the sake of convenience, Ava could only nod. "Thank you."

Ava felt a lot of pressure when she saw this box of documents. It seemed like she would have to stay up all night tonight.

Later, Mia changed her clothes and left.

Ava sat in Mia's home office, taking out the documents from the box and flipping through them one by one.

There was a lot of complex data on them, and Ava was worried that she would forget the earlier ones. She wanted to find a piece of paper to take notes and absentmindedly pulled open the drawer on her right.

She found a photo inside. The photo was of Alexander when he was little.
He was particularly adorable when he was young, with big, beautiful eyes.

Ava gently traced his face and little mouth with her right finger, unable to help but smile.

Finally, she put away her smile and sighed lightly.

Unfortunately, the adorable little boy eventually grew up to become a bad man.

After putting the photo back in its original place, she closed the drawer.

It seemed that Mia still cared about her son, but she was not someone who would always express her thoughts. In this aspect, Alexander was quite similar to her.

When Mia returned home at night, she found Ava still reviewing those materials.

And Ava was not only reviewing but also making marks on paper with a pen and using her phone to search for something.

She was very focused and didn't even notice Mia's return.

Mia stood at the door for a few minutes.

She originally wanted to see when Ava would notice her, but she didn't expect Ava to be so focused that she almost ignored everything.

"Why are you still busy? Haven't you taken a break?"

Upon hearing the voice, Ava turned around. "Mia, you're back."

Mia responded and said, "It's getting dark outside."

After looking at the time for the whole night, it was already seven o'clock. Ava didn't realize that she had been looking for so long.

"You haven't had lunch yet." Mia could tell by her appearance that she had not eaten.

Ava said, "I forgot. There are too many materials here, and I was so focused on reading."

"But you can't forget to eat. You still have a baby in your belly."

Mia placed a bag on the table and said, "These are for you. Take a look to see if anything is missing."

"Thank you, nothing is missing." Ava flipped through the bag. Everything I need is here. She thought she would only stay here for one night, so she didn't need too much.

Perhaps sitting for too long, Ava suddenly stood up and felt uncomfortable. She gently twisted her body.

"Don't just sit here all the time. I'm going to make dinner. Let's go together. It's also a good opportunity for you to exercise. Your baby is getting bored."

Mia glanced at Ava's belly.
