Chapter 1174 Call from the Police
Madison left Eason's place and drove back to her own home. As soon as she walked in the door, she threw her bag on the ground and almost screamed.
Emily hadn't come back all night, and now it was almost noon and still no sign of her, not even a text message.
Where did she run off to again?
She really has some nerve, acting like nothing happened after such a big incident.
Just then, her phone rang.
Madison picked up the phone, and the caller ID showed it was from a police station in a certain district.
Seeing the call from the police, Madison immediately felt guilty and threw the phone onto the couch.
Why would the police be calling her? What happened?
Could they have found something out? No, that was impossible. Did that bitch Emily turn herself in, or did she get caught?
Madison was in a panic. She rushed into her room to pack her things and run.
The phone on the couch kept ringing. Madison ran back to the living room, picked up the phone, and was about to hang up.
At that moment, she saw that Emily was calling her.
That bitch must be about to rat her out.
No, she couldn't panic.
Madison took a deep breath, told herself not to lose her cool, and then answered the phone, "Hello, Emily."
But it wasn't Emily's voice on the other end; it was a man's voice. "Is this Ms. Allen?"
Madison swallowed hard, steadied herself, and said, "Yes, it's me. Who are you?"
"This is the police station. Emily Allen is your cousin, right?"
Madison wiped the sweat from her forehead. "Yes, she is. Did something happen to her?"
Madison's heart was in her throat.
She was on edge.
"Here's the situation," the officer explained the circumstances.
After hearing it, Madison's legs went weak, and she collapsed to the ground.
It wasn't because she was scared; it was because Emily had gotten herself into trouble, not because the police had found out about Scarlett's death.
"Hello, Ms. Allen, are you still there?" The officer asked a few times when Madison didn't respond.
Madison quickly said, "I'm here. I understand. I'm really sorry. I'll be right over."
"Alright, please come as soon as you can, and bring her a change of clothes. Her own clothes are no longer wearable."
Madison suddenly laughed.
It turned out she had overthought things.
Madison got up from the floor, went to the bathroom to wash her face with cold water, adjusted her emotions, repacked her clothes into the closet, and then drove out.
After arriving at the police station, Madison went through a series of procedures and finally bailed Emily out.
When they came out, the sky was gray and overcast, looking like it was about to rain.
Emily's face was still swollen, and there were many marks on her neck.
Madison was holding a bag with Emily's torn and blood-stained clothes inside.
Holding back her anger, Madison said, "So you went out last night to do this kind of thing?"
The police had informed Madison that Emily had been caught in an orgy at a party, having sex with three men at the same time. The scene was unsightly.
Emily nonchalantly said, "It's my normal need. Who knew someone would report it, and the police would suddenly show up."
Emily's face was heavily made up, but after a whole night of chaos, her makeup was a mess.
For such parties, she had to make herself look pretty to cover up her original appearance. Otherwise, with her natural looks, it would be hard to attract handsome guys.
Madison felt disgusted by the smell on her.
Emily was truly hypocritical. She spent all day cursing other women for being promiscuous, yet she herself was so loose.
It’s true that those who lack something are the ones who talk about it the most.
Emily had no morals and was promiscuous, so she liked to curse others for being promiscuous.
"Do you know how much effort I put in to bail you out and how many good words I had to say? Emily, I didn't expect you to be like this. I'll take you to the hospital for a check-up later. You better not have caught any STDs."
She knew Emily wasn't clean, but she didn't expect her to do such things in private. Thinking about how she had once shared a bed with Emily made her worried.
"What are you afraid of? Even if I have a disease, you won't catch it. We don't have that kind of relationship," Emily said indifferently.
Madison lost her patience. "Do you know how much money I spent to bail you out? If you don't listen to me, then pay me back the money and go home. I can't take care of you anymore."
Hearing Madison's threat, Emily immediately tried to appease her. "I get it, I'll go."
She didn't want to go back so easily after finally coming here to have fun.
She had even quit her job, wanting to stay by Madison's side and live a good life. She didn't want to go back to work, where she worked hard and earned little, and got scolded by her boss.
