Chapter 914 Disappointed Every Time

As soon as "Christina" came up, Vincent's eyes went dark, a flash of anger sparking in them.

He grabbed her face, teeth clenched, "Don't you dare mention her!"

His grip was so strong, it felt like he was gonna crush her face.

Clearly, Christina meant a lot to him.

Out of nowhere, Vincent let go of her face, clutching his chest and stumbling back a few steps.

Ava thought about helping him, but then remembered how he just treated her. She pulled her hand back, feeling a bit pissed.

"I ain't done eating yet." Vincent mumbled, staggering towards the dining room.

Ava let out a long breath, almost losing her balance.

After a bit, she pulled herself together, squatted down to pick up her stuff from the floor, and shoved it into her bag.

She glanced Vincent's way, saw him head into the dining room, and cautiously moved to the door, trying to open it to leave.

But the doorknob wouldn't budge.

"Don't waste your energy," Vincent said coldly, "Without my fingerprint, it ain't opening."

Ava sighed, feeling helpless.

She didn't expect she'd need a fingerprint to get out. She put her bag down and went to the dining room to sit.

"Ten grand and one week, if it's just to take care of you and cook, I'm in." Ava had no choice but to agree.

She was out of options, didn't have ten billion bucks, couldn't ask William for that kind of money, and even if she did, she couldn't pay it back. She didn't wanna die, so this was her only shot.

Vincent silently finished his lunch and went back to his room.

Ava cleaned up the table, and then called William, "William, I'm sorry, I need to stay out for a few days."

"Ava, what's going on?" William asked quickly.

"Nothing, I just need to clear my head. I'll be back in about a week." Ava replied.

There was a long silence on the other end.

"Ava, are you not planning to come back?" William asked cautiously.

"No." Ava quickly said, worried he'd get the wrong idea, "William, trust me, I'll be back in a week."

"Okay, I believe you." William's voice was super gentle, "I always believe you."

Hearing William's calm voice, Ava felt a pang of guilt. She wished he'd get a little mad, after all, she kept letting him down.

But he always trusted her like this.

Ava felt really guilty. She shouldn't have run out, should've stayed home and not gone looking for Alexander.

Now, not only did she suffer, but she also faced life-threatening danger and was stuck here.

She didn't even know if she could leave after a week.

After hanging up, Ava sighed.

Suddenly, she heard a noise from the room. Ava ran over and found Vincent on the ground.

She quickly went to him, unwrapped the bandages on his upper body, and saw the wound looked really bad, getting worse.

"You need to go to the hospital for debridement," Ava said, worried.

"There's a first aid kit in the cabinet, it has debridement tools, you help me," Vincent said.

"I'm not a doctor, I don't know how to do it." She'd never done anything like this before.

"I'll teach you," Vincent added.

"But," Ava tried to refuse.

"No buts." Vincent cut her off, his face pale.

Ava got up, grabbed the first aid kit, helped Vincent onto the bed, and opened the kit, "What do I do?"

Vincent's forehead was covered in sweat, his hands clutching the wound on his right side, with bright red blood seeping through his fingers, making her heart race.
