Chapter 593 Dining Together
Ava instinctively shielded William behind her, her face full of vigilance as she stared at Alexander.
Isabella's lips curled into a victorious smile as she tightly clung to Alexander's arm. Although she was also shocked, she didn't show. She said, "It's you. I didn't expect to meet you here. Unfortunately, Alex has reserved this restaurant."
Isabella's voice was gentle and polite, but it carried a tone of sarcasm that was hard to pinpoint.
Ava felt nauseated by her sickening tone. "There's nothing unfortunate about it. This isn't the only restaurant around. There are plenty nearby. William and I will be leaving now."
After saying that, Ava grabbed William's wrist and started to leave.
Just as they were passing by, William suddenly stopped.
Ava noticed that he wasn't moving and turned her head. "What's wrong, William?"
William's deep gaze fell on Alexander and Isabella. He suddenly wrapped his arm around Ava's waist, pulling her into his embrace. "Ava, aren't you going to introduce us? Who are they?"
Isabella also knew about William's situation, as Eason had told her before. She thought, 'William's heart was supposed to be mine, but that bitch Ava refused to sign the consent form. It is unbelievable that he is alive.'
"William, let's talk about this later." Ava didn't want to discuss such matters on the spot because seeing Isabella and Alexander now just made her feel irritated.
Seeing Ava's reluctance, William didn't push her. He nodded. "Alright."
Just as they were about to leave, Alexander suddenly said, "I'm her ex-husband. My name is Alexander. I heard Mr. Bennett lost his memory. It seems you're not doing too well."
William sensed Alexander's hostility but remained calm, exuding an air of authority. He smiled slightly. "No wonder Ava divorced you. Your judgment is indeed poor. Thanks to Ava's meticulous care, I've recovered well. We are inseparable."
A tension filled the air between them, making Ava uneasy.
Isabella felt uncomfortable, too. She could sense that Alexander was subtly competing with William because of Ava.
Hearing what William said, Alexander snorted coldly. "Not necessarily. Don't you know that Ava..."
"Mr. Mitchell," Ava interrupted him, casting a warning glance his way, "Aren't you and Miss Harrington here to dine? You should go ahead. William and I are leaving."
"Yes," Isabella said with a smile, "Alex, let's not disturb them. They seem to have their matters to attend to."
Isabella disliked Ava meeting Alexander. It always gave her a strong sense of unease, and she feared that Alexander might regret his decisions.
The atmosphere suddenly became tense, more like a standoff.
"William, let's go," Ava said, trying to lead him away.
Alexander's face turned slightly cold, and then he said, "Wait a minute. Since we met here, it's a kind of fate. Let's dine together. My treat."
Ava turned her head, frowning. "There is no need to dine together. I might be a bother to you ."
"No. Isabella and I have plenty of time together, but we rarely get to meet you. Let's have a meal together. You don't need to go elsewhere, and the manager won't be troubled."
