Chapter 1268 I Am a Bad Person

Ava tried her best to control her emotions and not panic. It might be a psychological effect that made her think the eyes looked similar. This was drawn by Madison, so it might not be accurate.

Ava turned her head to look at the room door, then started typing a message to Alexander.

[Eason is here with me. When you come over, don't get into a conflict with him. I feel like something is off with him. I'll explain more when we meet. When you get here...]

Suddenly, the door opened.

Ava was startled, almost dropping her phone. "How did you get in?"

Eason raised his hand and shook the key in it. "You left the key on the coffee table? How do you think I got in?"

Ava felt a wave of regret. She had carelessly left the house key on the coffee table.

Eason walked over with the key. "You're acting strange. Why did you lock the door? I thought you just closed it."

Eason got closer and closer, his voice growing more oppressive and filled with confusion. But Ava felt an overwhelming sense of cold and pressure.

She kept backing up until she reached the cradle. She immediately picked up Sunny from the cradle and held him in her arms.

"Eason, Sunny can't sleep. Let's forget about it. How about we go out and buy some fresh groceries? I'm worried the ones in the fridge aren't fresh anymore."

She had a strong sense of worry. She didn't want to stay at home; she needed to go out. Maybe she could find a chance to leave.

"You seem sick." Eason raised his hand and gently touched her face. "You look pale. What's wrong? Why do I feel like you're avoiding me?"

Ava stood still, afraid of overreacting. She forced a smile. "Why would I avoid you? You're overthinking."

"Am I overthinking?" Eason tilted his head, a smile forming on his lips. "I suddenly remembered something. You didn't tell me about the recording. How would I know?"

Ava's scalp tingled.

The smile on Eason's lips made Ava's heart race. She kept backing up with Sunny in her arms, and Eason kept approaching.

"Ava, I was too careless and let it slip. You found out. Are you scared? Or did you connect the dots?"

Eason got even closer.

Ava forced a smile. "Eason, I didn't connect anything. You're so smart. It's normal for you to know some things. I wouldn't overthink it."

"Ava, you're quite smart too. You're still acting with me, even though you're scared to death. You're trying to calm me down and find a chance to escape, right?"

"I didn't think that." Ava said, but her voice was trembling.

Eason sighed softly. "Ava, aren't you tired of holding Sunny? Give him to me."

Ava held Sunny tightly. "Eason, what's wrong with you?"

"What's wrong with me? Haven't you noticed? Why are you still pretending? I'm the bad guy. Otherwise, why are you so scared?" Eason stopped pretending.

Ava continued to act tough. "Eason, how could you be the bad guy? Don't joke with me."

Eason laughed and pulled out a gun from his pocket, pointing it at Ava.

Ava was terrified. "Eason, what are you doing?"

"Ava, I'm really sorry. I was careless and let it slip, so you found out I'm the bad guy. I have to admit, I am the bad guy. I was the one who attacked William before, and I was the one who shot Alexander."

Eason looked at her with guilt. "Ava, I'm really sorry for deceiving you for so long."
