Chapter 671 Too Naive
They had loved and protected her since she was a child, and there was never any sign that she wasn't their biological daughter.
But many years after her parents had died, her aunt told her that she wasn't their biological child.
This news was a huge shock to Ava. If she wasn't their biological daughter, then who could be her real parents? Could they still be alive?
Ava looked up at the man and said, "I can't do a DNA test with her as we're both trapped here by you."
"So, you want to do a test?"
Ava nodded. "Yes, I do."
The man asked, "So, should I let you go now, to get a DNA test?"
Ava sighed softly and lowered her head helplessly.
A glint flashed in the man's eyes. "If you beg me, I might agree."
Ava frowned slightly. "You want me to beg you? Are you sure?"
"I love it when people beg me. Go ahead, beg me." The man blinked, his eyes filled with anticipation. His expression was hidden under the black mask, but his voice sounded like a child yearning for candy.
The man was eager to hear Ava begging her but Ava had no such intention.
He never kept his word, so begging him would be useless.
Seeing Ava remain silent, the man frowned. "Beg me, hurry up."
"I'm not begging you."
"If you don't beg me, how will you do a DNA test with your aunt?"
"Then I won't do it, I don't care. After all, my parents are already dead. Whether they were my biological parents or not, they raised me, they are my parents."
"Really?" The man chuckled softly. "Don't you want to know who your biological parents are?"
Ava was slightly stunned and suddenly fell silent. The man laughed again. "You're curious, aren't you? I'm quite curious too."
The man turned to Evelyn and asked, "Do you know anything about her biological parents?"
Evelyn swallowed and said, "If you let me go, I'll tell you everything I know."
"You dare to negotiate?" The man walked towards her.
Scared, Evelyn hugged her head, "Even if you kill me, I won't say anything. Either way, I'm dead."
Ava said, "You are not trustworthy. Even if I agree to let you go, how can I be sure you're being honest? What if you're lying to me? You'd do anything, even betray your niece, let alone tell a little fib."
"I swear I'm not lying. This time, I'm honest. I do have information about your mother. If you let me go, I promise I'll tell you all the details. And if you still doubt me, you can have a DNA test so you will see if I am lying."
Ava was silent for a while. Suddenly, she looked at the man and said, "I beg you to let me go."
Ava knew how naive her words were. She was begging a kidnapper to let her go.
No kidnapper in the world would release a hostage upon their request.
They would only watch the hostage cry, beg, and scream, which would only fuel their evil.
And yet here she was, begging a kidnapper. How naive.
Ava finally understood why she had experienced so many sad things. At its core, it was because she was too naive. When she was with Alexander, she had too many naive fantasies, which led to heartbreak in the end.
And when she was no longer naive, he said he loved her.
When she was naive, she could never get what she wanted no matter how hard she tried. When she no longer wanted it, the people and things she desired always seemed to appear before her. She suspected it was God playing tricks on her.
Ava sighed softly. She opened her mouth and said, "Forget it. How could you possibly let me go?"
