Chapter 278 Smearing My Name
**
"It's supposed to be gross," Victoria Bennett cooed, tugging at his sleeve, "Bro, we're in the same boat now. If dad finds out, I'll just say you were an accomplice."
William Bennett frowned, "I help you and you threaten me, you’re heartless."
"Aw, Bro, I’m just trying to be on your side," she said, wrapping her arms around his waist and resting her head on his shoulder, "But don't worry, since we're in this together, I’ll always help you no matter what happens. If there's anything you need me to do, just say the word, and I'll go through fire and water for you, no questions asked."
"Oh, really? There is something I'd like you to do for me," William Bennett said.
"What is it? Just tell me," Victoria Bennett replied playfully, batting her eyelashes.
William Bennett looked down at her coldly, "Stay away from me, the farther, the better. And when you're out, don't tell anyone we're siblings. Let's pretend we don’t know each other."
Victoria Bennett's face turned to shock, "Bro, you wouldn’t be trying to cut ties with me, would you?"
William Bennett gave a faint smile, "I’d very much like to."
"Bro, I'm your dearest little sister, don’t forget, we’re in the same boat."
Victoria Bennett was not taking him seriously and most certainly wouldn’t let go of William Bennett so easily.
Let alone whether William Bennett was serious about cutting ties, even if he truly wanted to sever their sibling relationship, she would cling to him relentlessly.
Such a useful, wealthy brother was worth holding on to at all costs for her.
Victoria Bennett looped her arm through his and shook William Bennett vigorously.
William Bennett's head was spinning as he pulled his arm free, "Alright, I need to sleep some more. You can go now; it's still early."
Groggily, William returned to his bed and sat down. Just as he was about to lie back down, Victoria Bennett said with a grin, "Bro, I chatted with Ava last night and mentioned you."
William's eyes snapped open, and he sat up straight, all serious, "What did you two talk about?"
Victoria folded her arms behind her back, tilting her head with a superior air, she huffed, "Weren't you asking me to leave? Well then, goodbye."
As Victoria turned to leave, William grabbed her wrist, yanking her back. His brows furrowed and his demeanor was cold and dominant, "Tell me, what did you say? Did you talk behind my back? Did you smear my name?"
He looked at Victoria as if she was a criminal.
"Who smeared your name? Don't make false accusations. I'm going back; don't stop me."
She shook off his hand with force.
In a flash, William moved like lightning in front of Victoria as she turned around, blocking her path.
"Give me your phone," he demanded, reaching out his hand.
"Why?" Victoria clutched the phone in her pocket defensively.
William, not caring about manners in front of his own sister, lunged forward to snatch the phone from her pocket.
It required her fingerprint to unlock.
Without hesitation, he forcefully grabbed her hand to unlock it.
"What are you doing? Let me go, help! Help!"
"Quiet, and unlock the phone!" William said impatiently.
"Help! Murder! Help!" Victoria shrieked like someone in mortal danger, "I'm going to tell Ava Anderson about this. You're invading her privacy; she will hate you for sure!"
For William, the name Ava Anderson was like an extremely powerful weapon.
