Chapter 316 A Cold Conversation

“Come on, you are his biological mother; Are you afraid of awkwardness? He is your son,” Ava couldn’t understand why Mia was hesitant and doubted whether she had forgotten how to be a mother.

Mia turned her head and glanced at her, “I almost forgot, you are a mother now.”

Her gaze fell on Ava’s belly, “Still not planning to tell Alex?”

Ava put her hands on her belly and shook her head, “I told Grandma that I want to go on a trip.”

Mia said, “Looks like you’re planning to keep it a secret.”

“Mom, thanks for keeping my secret.”

Mia had known about this matter for a long time, but she never revealed it, showing that she was trustworthy.

Mia shrugged, “Since I promised not to say, I will keep my promise. But what about Alex? Are you planning never to tell him he has a child?”

“We can discuss that later. Right now, I just want to have this child by myself. If he knows right now, it will be troublesome, especially since he is going to marry Isabella Harrington.”

Mia picked up on the hint of sadness in Ava’s eyes, “Do you really believe that Alex loves Isabella Harrington so much that he would do anything for her?”

Ava chuckled softly, with a bit bitter, “Hasn’t he already done that?”

Some things were not based on her own opinions but were facts.

What she thought no longer mattered.

“Do you need any help? Where are you planning to travel? I can arrange a hospital and find a place for you to stay.”

“Thank you, Mom. I can handle all of that by myself.”

She had already decided to have the child and take care of it alone. If she couldn’t handle these small matters, how could she be a mother?

Being a mother was not easy. It wasn’t just about giving the child food. She knew she would have a difficult time and carry a great responsibility.

Therefore, she had to learn to solve problems on her own.

Mia seemed to know what she was thinking and didn’t force her. She picked up her phone from the coffee table and began tapping on the screen, apparently planning to make a call.

Ava asked, “Mom, are you going to call Alex?”

“Didn’t you tell me to contact him?”

Ava smiled with relief, “He will definitely be happy.”

“Don’t get too excited,” Mia said. “What if he rejects me?”

As Mia spoke, she had already dialed the number.

After a short while, a gloomy voice came from the other end of the phone, “Hello.”

“It’s me,” Mia’s voice is imperceptibly nervous, just like her usual coldness.
“I know,” Alexander replied coldly. Their conversation didn’t sound like a mother and son.
“Is there something wrong?” Alexander asked.
“Would you like to have a meal with me?” Mia smoked, one after another, seeming a bit anxious, but her voice remained calm.
Just like a poised boss, even if the sky falls, despite feeling nervous inside, their expression will appear calm.
On the other end of the phone, Alexander remained silent for a long time before speaking, “What’s the occasion for you to invite me to eat?”
“Nothing. Just tell me, do you want to or not?”
Ava lowered her head helplessly.
Is she really having a good conversation with her son?
On the other end, Alexander’s tone was clearly displeased, “No, I have other things to do.”
“Oh, I see,” Mia didn’t make much effort to salvage anything, “If you’re busy, then forget it.”
