Chapter 862 Call Me Foolish

"Mr. Mitchell, can you just let me finish talking first?"

She was freaked out he'd blow up again and bolt, and she wouldn't get to say her piece. They might never get another shot at this.

Alexander held back his anger, trying to keep his cool. "Go ahead."

"You still love Ava, even though she married someone else."

When Madison said this, she watched Alexander's face and saw his eyes get even darker.

Madison kept going, "Instead of torturing yourself, you should go to Stellaria and see her."

"I..."

"Don't say you don't want to see her," Madison cut him off. "If you didn't, you wouldn't have asked Eason for her address last time. You can't fool anyone, especially not yourself. You want to see Ava. Stop lying to yourself."

Alexander stayed quiet.

Madison pressed on, "Since you want to see her, why don't you just go? Instead of missing her all the time, go see her and talk it out. It's better than keeping it all inside and suffering alone."

Alexander asked, "What is there left to say between us?"

"If there's nothing left to say, why did you ask for her address? Mr. Mitchell, if you go now, you can see her. You two can talk, clear the air. Who knows what might happen?" Madison suggested.

"You say no one knows what might happen," Alexander said coldly. "But what if something bad happens? What then?"

"What of it?" Madison said. "It is what it is. What could be worse than now? No matter what, it can't be worse than how you're feeling now."

"I know you want to see her. You definitely do. You just can't get over this hurdle in your heart. So let me go with you, okay? I'll go with you to see her. I want to visit Stellaria anyway, and you can see Ava," Madison added.

"Why do you insist on going with me?" Alexander asked.

"Because I'm worried about you. I'm scared you'll do something stupid," Madison explained.

It was Mia who called her to come over.

Mia told her a lot, asking her to comfort Alexander.

Mia even told her that she could save Alexander, to replace Ava.

Mia trusted her so much, believing she could do it. No matter what, she wouldn't let Mia down.

"If I really do something stupid, can you stop me?" Alexander looked at her with a serious gaze.

Madison said, "I don't know if I can stop you. But if I can see you, I'll feel better."

Madison looked down, disappointed. "If you agree to my request, I promise after we get back, I'll never see you again and never bother you."

Alexander smiled helplessly, "Why are you so foolish? You know I can't love you. Or do you think you have a chance?"

"No," Madison said. "I know you can't love me, but I'm willing to do this. Call me foolish. I want to be this foolish because I believe you'll get better. I believe you'll have a good life if you just try."

Alexander was silent for a long time.

Finally, he sighed, "You should rest first. We'll talk when you're feeling better."

He turned to leave the room.

"Did you agree?" Madison's voice was choked with tears.

Alexander paused. "I'll think about it."

With that, he left the room.
