Chapter 1139 The Mysterious Man
"No way, look at you. Stay still, I'll get the first aid kit."
Ava got up and went to the cabinet, opened it, and took out a first aid kit, then ran back.
Luckily, she had an emergency kit.
"Lie down here, I'll take care of it."
She had treated Bishop before, so she had some experience now.
Bishop didn't resist anymore and let Ava unwrap the bandage on his shoulder. She saw his wound, which was horrifying, with blood turning black.
"How did it get like this? We need to go to the hospital."
"It's okay, Ava, don't worry about me, I'll be fine."
Bishop opened the first aid kit and took out some necessary medicines.
Then he used a cotton ball soaked in antiseptic to clean the wound.
"Bishop, let me do it." Ava took the tweezers from his hand, "You lie down and don't move, I'll do it."
She understood Bishop's concerns and didn't force him to go to the hospital to avoid any complications.
For now, she would see if she could control the injury, and if not, they would go to the hospital.
Ava approached him and carefully treated his wound, finally wrapping it with clean gauze.
Then she took a clean towel to wipe the sweat from his forehead.
"What exactly happened? Tell me quickly, how did you get shot? Who did it?"
Bishop said, "Ava, that night after I dropped you off at the hotel, a man sneaked into my car and threatened me. He wanted to kill me, but luckily I jumped into the sea and saved my life, though I got shot."
"What did he look like?" Ava was terrified.
She hadn't expected Bishop to go through such an ordeal. If she had known, she wouldn't have let him go back.
"He was masked, I didn't see his face, and the lighting was dim. I could only tell he was tall and thin. His voice was probably fake too; I felt he was deliberately changing it. But..."
"But what?" Ava pressed.
"But I think you must know him."
"I know him?" Ava was shocked. "Why do you think that?"
Ava thought about the people she knew.
Who would want to kill Bishop?
Could it be William? Or Alexander?
"He said he likes you, so he was very unhappy when I was around you. He thought I was a stumbling block, ruining his plans."
Ava stared at Bishop, and after a while, she asked, "Did he tell you himself that he likes me?"
Bishop nodded, "Yes, so I think he must be someone you know, maybe even someone close to you. Think about it, is there anyone like that?"
Ava thought hard, and it could only be William or Alexander, but she didn't think either of them would do such a thing.
"Bishop, you've met William and Alexander. Do you think it could be them?"
Bishop thought for a moment, "I only know it was a man, and he was well-disguised. I can't say for sure if it was them or not."
He had no evidence, so he couldn't make baseless accusations. He couldn't be 100% sure it wasn't them, nor could he be 100% sure it was them. This needed to be investigated thoroughly.
"If it really is them, then..."
Ava couldn't imagine either of them doing such a thing; it was too malicious.
"Ava, no matter who it is, his target is me. I don't think he will harm you, so you don't need to worry."
"But I'm worried about you," Ava said. "You're already injured and almost lost your life. I'm sorry, I got you involved."
"It's not your fault. I came here willingly; it has nothing to do with you. Don't blame yourself. Don't worry, I will find out who he is. At least before I leave, I will eliminate this threat for you. Even if he really likes you, I think he's a dangerous person!"
Seeing Bishop still worrying about her at this moment, Ava felt both sad and touched.
He had come all this way to find her, and now he was doing this for her. Why?
Ava had a vague guess in her heart, but she didn't dare to ask for the answer.
"Bishop, get up. I'll help you to the bed to rest. Don't go anywhere tonight, just rest well."
"That doesn't seem right."
Ava said, "There's nothing wrong with it. No one is sleeping in the next room. Come on, I'll help you over."
Ava lifted Bishop's arm and put it around her slender shoulder, then helped him up and stumbled towards the room.
