Chapter 1012 Playing Mind Games

Ava couldn't stop thinking about what went down at the restaurant earlier.

William had taken a tumble, and she was sure it was Alexander's fault. She'd let Alexander have it back then.

William had looked so vulnerable, and it seemed like it was all on Alexander. But later, William came clean and told her he had set Alexander up.

Even though she was mad, she forgave William. But then Alexander told her there were cameras in the restaurant that caught everything, so William confessed to get ahead of it.

Still, Ava had believed William. She had thought he genuinely felt bad and apologized, not because he knew about the cameras.

But today made her rethink everything.

She wondered, 'Could Alexander be right? Did William know all along and just fess up to get ahead of it? If so, he must've snooped on my phone and planned it out. He apologized so when I saw the video Alexander sent, it wouldn't hit me as hard. He's really playing mind games. And now, did William rush back because he knew Alexander was going to call the cops?'

"I get where you're coming from," Bishop said. "Sunny's your kid, and his dad is Alexander. You're scared if you push William too hard, he might do something crazy. Even if he wouldn't hurt Sunny, there's still a lot he could do."

Ava sighed and nodded. "You really get me."

She was surprised that Bishop understood her so well after just a few days.

Ava went on, "I don't know what to do. My head's a mess. If I'd believed Alexander from the start, maybe things wouldn't be like this. At least I'd have Sunny with me and wouldn't be so worried. Am I just being dumb? I should've trusted Alexander sooner."

Bishop shot back, "No, Alexander's not trustworthy. He's hurt you so many times. Even now, he still protects other women. He can't give you security. It's right not to trust him. He brought this on himself."

Ava was taken aback. "How do you know all this?"

She'd never told Bishop about Alexander protecting other women or not making her feel safe.

Bishop looked at her calmly, but there was something deeper in his eyes.

Ava stared at him, a bit confused. She waved her hand in front of his face. "What's up? You okay?"

Bishop replied, "Yeah, I'm fine. I know because..."

"Because of what?" Ava asked.

Bishop looked at her, his eyes soft and sincere, like a clear spring, showing concern. His gaze had a kind of maturity and steadiness, full of determination and decisiveness.
